Great post Cellini.
I play on 5* too and I have to agree that the only way to do well is to play a calm, patient game and don't try to sprint forward every time you get the ball, slow build up play pulling the opposition out of position seems to work a treat for me.
It is really frustrating that the CPU messes with your passing, shooting and tackling but I have found that it seems to only really have a bad effect when I rush things.
My biggest problem is coming flying out of the traps from the kick off all fired up and ready to give the opposition a right good thumping only to concede in the first few minutes and spend the rest of the game chasing and rushing around trying to get that all important equaliser & then finding myself getting impatient & flying into tackles & ending up with 10, 9 or 8 men and the CPU running away with the game - I rarely use slide tackle now !!!
Also, great point Zyg, starting off as a top team against lowly opposition is a great way to build up confidence and develop a strategical approach, concentrating on playing good football, do that for a few games and the results will come in the end !!!
Stick at it guys, winning the league and cup on 5* really does feel like a great achievement - although I have to say "the wife" didn't really share my enthusiasm or excitement when I was jumping round the living room at 4 in the morning !!!!!
