I noticed that if you play a 4 stars match, there will be more penalties than in a 3 stars
match. Your foes will tackle and slide alot and the ref will give away many free kicks and penalties.

if the ball gets a handball in tha box then it shouldnt be a pen, it acctually IS a free kick in tha box and your allowed to have a wall.
well this happend to alan shear last year, he scored!!

I take it you mean in real life? Well, actually blatant handballs in the box do result in penalties.
The "free kick in the box" thing you're describing is usually from a back pass to the keeper. (Back pass meaning the defender intentionally passes from his foot to his keeper's hands.) :)

if the touch of the hand isnt blatent and intentional then it is probably going to be called indirect and then you can get a wall

is when you have the obvious hand balls in the box that you start seeing penalties and people getting sent off

unfortunately i dont have the capability to post it but i have a replay of my player, Matinho (WHADDAYA MEAN YOU'VE NEVER HEARD OF HIM?) literally PUNCHING the ball about two yards from my own goal up onto the bar, then kicking away the rebound!!

if Peno's can happen, surely that would be stonewall???

and anyway, someone just touched on this, if its goona be a foul its gotta be INTENTIONAL, so surely handballs in a game cannot be INTENTIONAL without us having a button to press to MAKE the player handball it

e.g: on the line, 1-0 up in the last minute, press L2 and do a Henchoz, i mean handball, get the chance to save the peno and win the match!

I was listening to a premier league ref saying that the directives he receives in real life tell him that 'intent' is not considered at all - only whether contact (on another player, or between hand and ball) make no difference to the offence.

It's the punishment (Red/Yellow Card or just free-kick/penalty) that depends on whether the offence appears deliberate or not.

correct

a foul is a foul, but the deliberateness (is that a word?) is what causes cards to be shown

kinda like why you get sent off if you are defending a goal and you stop the ball from going in with your hand

pretty deliberate...and various other things :D

so if i'm running toward my goal not looking at the ball (pretty bad defending, i know) and a shot struck my hand, its still a penalty??

i have had PES3 since it came out - me and my mate were sure you could never get a handball penalty, but then the other day we were playing the ML against the machine (level 5) - computer took a shot, which hit Samuel. Ref blew up (the bald one) and the computer promptly dispatched it's peno.

So it is rare but it does happen - I have also had a few free kicks in attacking areas from handballs (usually blocked shots).

Having said that the handball feature is a bit annoying as it does seem to favour the defending side....

In one master league game of mine i took a shot from outside the box. it hit the Comp's defender and a handball penalty was awarded my way. If it had happened against me i'd be majorly annoyed, but it was in my favour so i was glad. Naturally i converted. :D

I've had other penalties from when the comp brings me down. but it seems to be about 50/50 so far where the tackle inside the box is concerned.

i have only had handballs inside the box that lead to pen's i havent had a free kick in the box (not that im moaning) but it would be a lil bit better to have a free kick inside the box thou!

I ve played 8 seasons in ML and only had one computer player sent off against me, keeper ran across attacker and tripped him didn't look deliberate, neither player had the ball, thats a lot of games and i have had a lot of handballs surely konami should switch the probabilities of handballs and sendings off to make the game more realistic
