Improvements For PES4

PEs 3 is great but just a couple of things I'd love to see...

Shooting animations are generally the same and a bit dull...why can't we use some of those that are used for free kicks.

Also, if Konami can put that much curl on a free kick how come you can't do that in the game. Adding more curl so that you actually feel like you affect the shot/pass more would be a great move in my book.

All the rest I'll live with but ideally they should get rid of the handball and that stoopid animation where the defender spins you arounsdand you fall over on your arse - how many time does that happen???

how about emotions playing a part in the pace of the game and aggression etc? if a player is red carded a team can get real wound up,arguining with the ref and the following few minutes will be a higher tempo with tackles flying in and the crowd really screaming.

refs should be a lot more leniant,1st tackles that are given as red cards rite early in the game wen its slightly mistimed pisses me off so much. ruins the game.

you should be able to wind the crowd up with your celebrations aswell,to pump your team rite up. if your 2-0 down in a cup game and peg it back to 2-1 you should be able to do a celebration to pick the game up to.

50-50 challenges need to be a part of the game, and players like keane, smith and gerrard should crunch players and fly into tackles were players like zidane are more likely to pull out or only half challenge. these sort of tackles could also be a signal to kik the game off into mayhem for a few minutes

pitches should get cut up during the winter, becoming very muddy down the centre and goalmouths. they should be visibly deteriorating throughout the game and snow games should be an option,so ball wont roll it will bounce more on the hard pitch, on a wet pitch it will skid more, perfect pitch will roll perfectly etc

quick free kicks. this could be difficult to get rite, but instead of stopping the play, having a cut scene to the free kick,it shouldnt cut scene and if your player is within a few yards you can take a quick free kick

shirt pulling could work. running side by side with someone a quick tug could give you an advantage whereas a clear pull back is a free kick, perhaps punished with a yellow

stepovers and simliar tricks need to have more of an effect. if you do stepovers it doesnt un nerve the defender at all, but say you have zidane or figo they could un nerve the defender, making him shuffle his feet before you can then knock the ball past wen he is off balance

a button to chest the ball instead of heading it. wen you cross the ball and you in miles of space but dont want to head it,you leave it and it goes over your head, you head it and waste a gr8 chance.

no cards for X challenges, as this is pointless. only yellows if it is a very bad slide tackle with no where near the ball and challenges from behind should be eligible sometimes if you win the ball but yellow if you take the player. only red for last man tackles and 2 bookings

get option to start with the crap players or the real player. get offers for your management thru the season and pre season. for instance, wen you start with a crap team and do well for a couple of years, a small team from the division above may offer you the job,and so on until you get the big clubs offering you jobs.

get loads of sponsors on the game. people like mcdonalds, adidas, and other big names could surely just lend there name to the game, after all its free sponsorship for them. you could get sponsored by bigger and bigger companies as you become more succesul

choice of which ball to play with. maybe in pes shop buy different styles like the adidas champo league ball and the new euro 2004 one and the rest. and maybe some balls have different characteristics, like some curl more and some travel faster etc

players limp around for a couple of minutes wen gettin a knock. if they are clattered they carry on but for a couple of minitues limp around and cant run as fast,or head injuries mean they wont win a header etc.

opposition react badly to bad tackles, maybe resulting in a melée (dunno how to spell it!!) and once again tackles fly in for a few minutes

derby games have a lot more of a derby feel, like man u liverpool have lots more tackles, louder fans and more taunting, faster pace, ball regularly being lost

shots dont lose as much pace thru deflections. wenever i shoot and its deflected it takes all the pace off and the keeper always makes it in time. some should loop into the air and go in or fall to a fellow striker

refs decisions should also result in the tempo of the game. in a man utd arsenal game aggresive challenges are expected so wont a bad tackle wont be punished as much as a tackle that comes flying in during a slow paced game

you should be able to contest refs decisions. like wen you foul someone or get fouled press a button and players surround the ref, arguing the opposition player should be sent off or the opposition dived. weaker refs could be influenced by this by giving less fouls and cards out wen one team is constantly harrasing him,and stronger refs would not be influenced by this, then booking players who go on at him for too long. and aggresive refs who react by giving more free kicks and bookings against the team who is causing him most greif

diving could be good,as once again the weaker refs more likely to be conned and stronger refs booking the culprit. you could just go down wen under challenge from minimal contact getting a free kick or knock the ball past a slide tackle and fling yourself to the floor under no contact

sorry i didint realise how long this is!! but these are things i think would make pes greater than it is now. hope some of my ideas are something that people like. i think shirt pulling and the emotional side could be great effects in the game. long live konami and pro evo soccer

Good, Bettter, BEST

1st In pes4 create whenever a computer team is attacking better a.i. in pes3 when the computer is in attacking position, they almost frequently do something weird like run to the sideline or when in perfect scoring position stop running or don't run at all. So it's a piece of cake to intercept the ball. 2ndThey should make the forwards more ''effective'' And what about all real faces, teams, clubs, and kits??? And I mean all, like Fifa2004 (that's the only thing good about FIFA). And where is the ref??????
And last but not least make a better transfersystem, just be able to create a player and make it able to register to all (in a simple way). if all this is in pes4 it makes me look like this>>> :D instead of this :) whenever i'm playing pes3

or combine cm4 with pes3.

Errrrrrrrrrrrrr........no.
Why would they join together when they are 2 different companies, Eidos and Konami.
U might as well say why dont pes3 and fifa joint togethre so pes3 has licenses/leagues.

It would be good if you could choose different shorts & socks selections on the kit selection screen, as in if the England home kit uses white tops, blue shorts, white socks and the away kit uses red tops, white shorts, red socks then there should be option to allow players to have the choice of white tops, away white shorts & the home white socks obviously this would be useful if a sides kit clashed really bad. This would be a really useful feature to have, you see it in real life like when Manchester Utd play Eveton or blackburn they wear Red tops, black shorts, white socks. Like even recently when Arsenal played spurs they wore red socks obvioulsy so things wouldn't clash.

What do people think about this idea?

Good Idea, I noticed that in recent games.
I dont think it would be first in konamis wishlist though

I would like to see a new addition to the game where you can decide whether to place your shot or go for power and hit it some.
Because when playing football you dont always go for power in your shots and that is what annoys me about the game because in real life you see those nice shots where they curl them top corner without belting it.
when pressing :square: in PES3 the player always try's to hit it as hard as he can even if you see a gap at the near post and want to slot it in, he still hits it hard without much accuracy.
maybe they could put this in the game, it would add alot more control over your shots. It could work by if you just press :square: it will do a power shot like the ones they have at the moment, and if you keep hold of :R2: and press :square: he will place the shot but with not as much power.
This would be brilliant to see in PES4, being able to curl one top corner instead of giving it some welly all the time.

I agree with that, u could have like Henry curling shots past the keeper thast he does often.

yeh exactly.
thats what we want , we dont always want to go for power coz it does'nt always work and that isnt how real footballers shoot now is it?they dont always go for power.
just say your 1 on 1 you dont want power you want to slot it bottom corner.

Dunno if this has been said already but aside from the usual suggestions like more teams and licenses, i think what PES4 will really need is slick presentation and alot more polish.

Lets face it, PES3 looks amaterish compared to FIFA and TIF. The menus are dark, basic and boring, all the text is in a dull font, crowd noise and BGM is crap, and in-match presentation is laughable compared to FIFA's glitzy Sky TV-like presentation. And we all know how bad the commentary is.

I'm not a shallow person but FIFA sells by the bucket-load because of the eye candy and atmosphere it offers the player. Konami have worked hard to deliver reallistic gameplay - PES3 has shown that the gameplay is in my opinion about 95% perfect, so its about time Konami spent a bit more time on the things that give the game atmosphere. Real crowd chants, decent music (like FIFA always has) brighter more colourful menus etc etc. Sorry to rant on like this...........

Cheers.

I would like to see better goal celebrations like roma / lazio have . when they score a goal in a meaninful match the jump the advertising boards and run to the fans and all the press guy`s follow them , sheer class

- They need to adjust the flow of the game. Right now it's waaay to easy to lose momentum on counter-attacks/breakaways and also in general play, and overall I think players should be able to move and control the ball ALOT better (they pale in comparison to the real deal atm).
- Better passing (both weight and where the ball is played)
- Better AI (they are so so so stupid right now)
- The analog stick/d-pad should serve as a "super cancel" in istelf. That is, whenever you move, anything the com was doing should be cancelled.
- Players should react to your movements alot faster (sometimes it takes up to a second or two for your guy to react after you've done something)

Camera Idea, When playing in different stadiums the camera views are always different. for example at certain crappy grounds (fulham's current shared ground) there may not be good places for the camera's to sit making it difficult to have decent views of the game, So what im trying to say is different stadiums should have different views cus on all the previous games no matter what stadium you play at the view is always the same.

Also i think in the game all of the pitch widths are the same yet in real life certain pitches are very narrow like at highbury, This could be implemented for pes4.

Finnaly when playing in a tournement like the Internatinal cup you should be able to specify which countries stadiums will be used, so if you wanted to imagne the tournement was in France you could select france and it would use only french stadiums in the tourenement e.g. monco, paris etc... Obviously for this to work alot more stadiums would be needed. As at the moment if you play in a International cup you have home & away games

The camera idea would only add to the realism of the replays and highlights, but i dont think the ability to see the game on the pitch should be ruined by having low cameras at crap stadiums. It is a game after all (not an episode of the Premiership), and you need to be able to play it unhindered to enjoy it!
