I also experience the issues described here with physical contact and running for through balls / sprinting with the ball... I'm wondering what difficulty levels you experience these things on? I notice that at least the physical contact issue seems to get pretty well balanced in Professional, but the game gets too easy for me so I play in Top Player... It does seem like they tried to make the game harder by taking these easy ways out. And I wish Top Player was slightly easier than it is, it seems like quite a big jump in difficulty from Professional to it, then not so big a jump to Superstar, maybe it's just my impression...
I've been playing on Superstar now, but still keep winning too easily...not because I'm that spectacular...but I've went from...Controlling the team...to controlling one player....to controlling one player and not calling for any passes and not asking my teammates to pressure...and that seems to make it most interesting at this point...
But it also enhances all those bad things....I can win 5-0 almost everytime if I just keep calling for pressure, and sprinting and shooting from the edge of the box....
Also you can use a monster like Zlatan, Lukaku or Wanyama and like...an tiny offensive player like Mata or Neymar, not very good or strong defenders...they can breath on you while defending, and your guy will look like he has been hit by the incredible Hulk, either on his back on the field, or stumbling completely off balance for 2 seconds....while the defender (mata/neymar) will still be in stride...
This is true for all levels, just not as responsive the further down you go.
I also noticed low ground driven free kicks are way too insanely slow, anywhere even 18.1 yards away you hit it on the ground and the goalkeeper has enough time to, jog a lap around the field, and then catch the ball easily with time to spare, not even block, but catch it...with a max power ground driven shot....it's horrendous...
I stated in another post, that to program this type of AI with all the other variables is probably an extremely sensitive and complex issue...along with physics and everything else that goes with it...but the bandaids they used to try to fix issues from last year have been seen before....
Though the defensive problems never as bad as FIFA 16 was you really could literally have a guy 15 yards ahead on a breakaway with 99 speed 1 on 1 with the keeper, and a defender with 1 speed/accel would run back to chase him down, and not only catch him, but overtake him, and clear the ball before the offensive player could get a shot off...this was done to try to fix the problems with pace being OP'd in FIFA 15, now this year, they say there's a pace problem again...lol
What I don't understand is why doesn't PES have sliders...that would alone make this game more amazing than could be imagined....
Sliders for the same things fifa has...speed/accel/pass speed/shot speed/marking/gk ability, all that good stuff...I can only wish....and truly wonder why they don't include them in Konami.
