Another thing i would like to see is a shield button (was in FIFA few years back, dunno if it still is - i refuse to play it). One of the shoulder buttons could be used. This function would be great as you could hold the ball more effectively in tight situations or among a crowd of players. Or it could be used to hold up play while you wait for support from team mates.

It is there in a subtle way, but i would like to see more control over shielding the ball. At present your player wont shield the ball from an opponent very effectively of his own accord. I would just like some player input into little things like this just to make the game feel a little less automated.

Sure why not!!Sounds good use as many idle buttons as possible thats what Dundon's says,But I have already perfected the art to an extent.i.e Run your player into the corner flag area (For example) And let go of the controls now tap R1 to make him stop dead.At this stage when your mate tries to win the ball you'll notice your player will sheild the ball (100%) N.B you can't move the player or he'll start running again, just leave him off by himself.

P.s This is good for winning corners,Killing time and getting player's wound up to the stage of ploughing though the back of you and getting an early bath.

Only trouble with this is you cant move at all. Like if you wanted to turn 180 while shielding the ball from an opponent.

One thing I'd like to see added on PES 4 is when you are editing a teams kit you can edit their badge but I think you should be able to place other symbols aswell.
Like you could have the option of two badges, one on each side or both in the middle for the team crest and what-ever. Then another larger one to resemble their sponsor.
Possibly even markings down the sleeves.
Because atleast if Konami don't get full licensing it will make it easier to edit the teams closer to what they look like. But this has probably been suggested somewhere before.

And didn't there used to be a shielding skill on one of the PES versions on the psx, I think it was L1 or L2 to put your foot on the ball and move round it with the d-pad. Maybe they could bring that back as its harder to put your foot on the ball tapping L1 and its not as effective.
