Are you suggesting a pissing contest? Just kidding. Mine is from 31m with Beckham. I think Veron has the best true ballistic kicks in this game (I got a goal from 34m scored by veron). Davids is also very deadly.

I also found it very hard to score from outside the box, especially if you face the goal straight-up. Try to score those when you're coming slightly diagonally, and shoot. And what Zygalski said was true - I don't think there are any tips for how much the power bar should be filled.

34m!! Probably possible to do better with Carlos, but as in reallife 9/10 times it just goes wide or over the top. However in FIFA I understand you can score with Carlos from 50m!! By the way just check out the stats on Rivelino (c. Brazil)!!!!!!!

I fluked a long ball free-kick from exactly level with the edge of the centre circle. 38-40m ??

I was using Riise, just aiming to put it into the box for a header (full forward on Left stick, holding L2, and hitting O up to half power).

The COM's keeper came for the ball behind 2 DF and Hyppia jumping behind him. That must have affected his balance, because he misjudged the flight and missed the ball by inches...it bounced a yard from the line and in.

Definitely no foul on the keeper.

I think it's a bit more tricky from open play, my brother has got a few against me from 30 yrds, and he got a scissor-kick volley from outside the area (20m) with Vorlander in the Master League.

You can score long range efforts but they are not easy. Van Nistelrooy is my best from about 33 m

On ISS Pro Evolution 1 on ps1 I could score goals from nearly 40m with Beckham! so good improvements have been made!

the shots always go wide or over the bar, if you hold shoot down it will go over the bar, if you press it quickly its a weak shot.

i remember in PES1 you could get some great shots.

for example, anyone remember gerrards goal against united a few years ago? impossible on pes3.

Try shooting without holding R1 ie if running towards the goal, let go of R1 and then shoot. Easier to get the shot on target like this

I watched video clips of Rivellino's crazy banana shots a few years ago. They are 40+ yards I believe. As I recall, he used the outside of his left foot and it's referred to as "the little toe pull west" shot (sorry, it is a direct translation from Cantonese). The most amazing thing of the shot was that the ball actually spun outwards and then when it travelled for like 20+ yards, it suddenly bent inwards. It surprised me as well as the goal-keeper obviously and of course it went in.

Plus my dad's subconscious input to my brain, I regard Rivellino as the best long-range shooter that ever exists. R. Carlos is just kindergarten to him. Beckham is a bit better, in the middle-school level.

I scored with Crespo from about 25m today, also a volley from over 20m with Scholes a couple of days ago. It is possible definately. It was on WE7 though, not on PES3.

I scored a loads from out of the box. Scored a volley from the corner of the 18 yard box into the opposite top corner of the goal on 5* its not that hard just need to practice in the training mode

My best effort so far is a free kick with Rivaldo from just outside the centre circle. Caught it really sweetly, dipped under the bar at the last second.

hi i'm new on the board... btw, it's rather hard to score long range screamers yes... but i did score one from 40+m with carlos... just past the halfway line with him on the left flank and let fly... the keeper was left flapping at air as the shot hit e post and rocketed in.

i guess in long range shots power is equally if not more, important than shot accuracy... try using ppl lyk okacha or carlos... i did manage to get lotsa screamers from okacha on target... he's a tad inconsistent though...

Exactly. Counter attack and get to middle filed on one of the sides, and you'll notice on your radar that the keeper is way off is goal. Sometimes he even goes beyond the penalty area. Blow a "almost-full-bar-shot" with a proper kicker, and you'll have a nice chance of scoring a 50m goal. Done that lots of times. Not possible in we6. Better programing I assume..

Scored a flukey one from halfway with Totti. But the dozy goalkeepers are always a mile of their line so its easy if you get the shot just right. Also scored a cracking FK with Roberto Carlos just past halfway again this time off the crossbar. I jizzed all over my control pad with that one.

Scoring rate from outside the box is reasonable, unlike boring FIFA where U have to go right in front of the keeper to shoot for any chance of scoring.
