paul_main - do not post stuff like that in the forum. Otherwise you can get yourself and the forum in trouble. Use PM or email if you have to.

So if you have this patched version can you still import files using x-port or max drive to the patched version?
Also, sorry if this is a bit off-topic but can x-port or max drive be used on chipped/modded ps2's/xbox's?

Zygalski, so basically, you install this patch update the way you installed the first .ppf patch file (v1.0 of jonboyo's patch), right? And I only need to get the patch for the correct & fixed kits etc, or does that go under the option file? Sorry about this, I am just a bit confused, still... :/ IF it is the patch file that gives the correct & fixed kits, will that show in/affect my ML file, or will I have the old kits for i.e Liverpool still? Not sure about this either... *sighs*

And which option file would you recommend to use? Scorpio's v1.1?

Thanks in advance, once again...

Reyes9 - Yes, max drive and x-port can be used on ALL PS2s for ALL PS2 game files on your memory card.

Even with a patched game - the option file that is on your memory card is the one that takes priority and that is the data that will be shown to you. So the best experience of PES/WE is using a great patch in conjunction with a great option file that is suitable for that patch. Scorpio's option file works great with jonboyo's patch since all the kits are left as default. If you used the pesfan file on your mem card - you'd see the edited kits as made in edit mode and not the patched ones.... to see them you need the kits to be set to default.
There is a way to import an option file into your image after you patch it and before you burn it and details are posted elsewhere. It involved importing/replacing the SLES and OVER files with ones made using the option file data.

elgen - Yes Scorpio's file is very good to use with jonboyo's patch. I've noticed a few mistakes and corrected them to make some kits look better (changing the colours of the numbers and names for all the classic teams as an example) but that is me being a bit picky ;)
Apply the jonboyo patch .ppf to your ISO and then apply the update file. There will be another update released this weekend so you'll have to apply that too. Once you've applied the patches, you can also import the SLES & OVER files from the option file of your choice that comes with the patch update. Or leave it and use the option file on your memory card to correct everything.

I would advise you to back up your ML file as well as your option file. Then transfer Scorpio's file to your memory card, overwriting your option file. Your ML will still be there and when you load your new Scorpio option file, you will see all the lovely patched kits in your game (unless you edited the kit of your own team - in which case you'd see what you made).

Is anyone else having troubles downloading the jonboyo patch? I cant seem to connect to any of the links suggested, & Lomungtung (where i got my patch for PES3) is running at just 0.6kb/s

Have you tried the Bit Torrent link in the first post? That is the best way to download the patch. Do you know how to use a Bit Torrent?

This will probably sound a silly question but im not very technical. I have a Xport. This new patch that you have, will it become available as an option file in the future to download using my xport? Secondly is there an option file available already for download where the music and call names can be changed?? Sorry if it is a silly question in advance.

jonboyo has made a PATCH for PES4. To patch your game you need to follow the instuctions in the first post and apply the patch to an image of your game on your PC and then burn the patched image and play the patched disk on a chipped/modded PS2. The patch is over 150MB in size and is NOT an option file.

There is NO way to get these patched kits or music or anything else onto your memory card using x-port or max drive. All of the x-port and max drive option files only contain what you can make in the in-game edit mode. Use the Scorpio PES4 option file in conjunction with this patch to get your game looking good with accurate squad details too.

Hope that makes things clearer.

im having problems, because everytime i patch the game using ppf o matic there is not a new file for me to burn to the dvd disk. should i just burn the .rar file onto disk, because that is the only one nero reads as an image.

ps should i have extracted the .rar file

Zygalski, thanks for the information. You are saying there'll be a 3rd update this/next week and for us to be able to add the 2nd patch, we should have a link that is working, don't you think so too? Because now, the link(s) to download the 20.10.04 update aren't working... Do you have a solution to that, perhaps?

Also, you said in the pictures thread that you will come up with a n00bie/detailed guide to the patching process within the next day or two... Well, just in case, keep in mind to explain to us n00bies how the SLES & OVER step works... ;)

Oh, and do you have any clue for what clubs the chants are added to? If it's too much work to list them up, then no worries, mate. I can simply go to evo-web and look for an answer there. Thanks anyway...

And again, pardon me for being so troublesome with all my ?'s.

myles, no, if you burn a .rar onto your DVD+R, your PS2 (modded) will not be able to read the disc. Only burn the patched (you patch by using the PPF-O-MATIC application) .iso on your DVD+R by using the Nero Burning application. It is recommended that you use the OLD Nero version and not the one with 'Nero SmartStart' option (because that one is crappy and it has some burning issues).

When you open Nero, choose to open a new "DVD (ISO)" and NOT a "CD (ISO)" _and_ that you choose the filetype "*.iso, *.bin, *.cue*" and THEN find the patched pes4.iso file to add it to your DVD+R disc and finally start burning at 2x speed.

A bit complicated that is, but it sure works (worked without any problems for me). Just follow Zygalski's way-to-patch guide in the 1st post in this thread.

Good luck.

I think elgen's advice for myles1988 was a bit too advanced.
myles - you should first read the sticky thread here to understand what a rar file actually is.
A .rar is a compressed file in a similar way to .zip.

Umm... well, at least I tried... and it's not that advanced, really.

Hmm... should I make a pictured guide on how to patch and how to burn the patched .iso? I guess that would help many of the users out there.

when i use ppf o matic, should i get a whole new image file, with the patch already in it so that it can be burnt onto the dvdr easily. Because when i patch them there is no new image file on my comp. It may be that i did not use the dvd decrypter properly, what should i c when ive finished on the dvd decrypter.

thanx
