There is a big difference playing in regular and top player. The AI are still far from prefer on either difficulty setting, but 35 goals??... :fplm:

Playing for a good team is also something most people don't value!!!
A team with good players, will pass the ball better, position themselves better, etc...
Most people that are just starting, come out and say the AI is crap.... when the truth is that you always start in bad teams!

Get transfered to a decent team and notice the difference!
I had a BAL season playing with Roda (a dutch club), the team was so awfull, that I couldn't do a single decent thing, and eventually got benched after some real bad performances because the team was pure crap!
They had deep troubles getting 3 passes!
On another season I was playing at Racing Santander, and even though we finished 2nd from last, the team actually played very nice football! (the problem was the defense).

I swear on my team mates lots of times but I dont know, my team mates plays differently on Home and Away games, sometimes their passes are precise sometimes not. I think you call for the ball too much, if you keep calling for the ball, the AI will start to do mistake.

Calling for the ball is all about timing, not doubt some of the people criticising this mode don't understand football... 90% of the time I never even have to call for the ball. When the AI can make the pass, your in space and the AI feel passing to you will be the right option, they will pass to you without having to call for it. Some times they pass to me when I'm least expecting it...
Yup, if you know what your doing, you will find this mode easy to adjust too, and very enjoyable.

Most of the times now, I don't even call far the ball...
I just move around offering the best passing lane, and they normally trust me the ball...
I only do it in corners or if I have a great run torwards goal...

I am a left footed Right Mid-Fielder:
I've scored 4 and 2nd in the Assist Rankings with 8 Assists, and as long as u make a decent run and call for the ball at the right time, i have no probs getting a good pass and putting a decent ball in the middle.
I think its spot on, yeah the defenders put the ball out a lot but who cares, this is an amazing addition to the Game

But after playing 5 seasons winning two D1 league cup, One B1 league cup, the European Championship numerous MOM and MIP's and scored nearly 35 goals as an CF ( put it in there to show you I'm not bitter) I can honestly say that KONAMI SHOULD QUIT BAL.

And? Your point is your crap and your blaming the game for it because you cant play on the higher difficulty were the team AI is better. You have already stated you wont play on top player so no one here will take your criticisms seriously until you do so.

So what's your problem with the game?? works out at an average of 7 goals a season, seems reasonable to me... I've also won numerous MOM & MIP awards, but that doesn't take anything away from the game for me... You've won 4 trophy's in 5 years, it depends on what team you're playing for. If you're playing for a decent team then that seems pretty realistic.
You're part of a very tiny minority who dislike this mode & just because you aren't enjoying it(for whatever reason) compared to the vast majority of people who are, you think Konami should give up on it?? Give it a shot on Top Player, but if it really annoys you that much then just play ML or CL or whatever...
Do you think posting on here will get it changed??? Do you think it was worth posting on here just to get a ton of people disagree with you?? It's your opinion & I respect it, but as far as this thread goes, it is pretty much pointless

Try looking at it from an OBJECTIVE point of view instead of letting your feminine sensitivy speak.
I've said since post one that I'm dedicated to this game but some of these things implemented are pure crap..and I'm sticking by it

Just because I'm doing well I can say that they should drop it. If I was a bitter player than I could not have given an objective view..My point was KONAMI should drop the BAL if they can't provide an "HONEST AI".
Like I said b4 I like to win ( the league )when I'm playing but because you only have 1 player at your service you depend on the AI. How come when you don't join a decent squad they do well but when you join they BOMB. This is not only do to you playing. If I score 1 goal and I'm ahead till 20 minutes b4 the end. I get subbed and the AI draws or wins that just bullshit. Or even whem I'm not subbed the AI scores due to a very amateuristic moves my defenders that really annoys the hell out of you. And I don't like to replay matches because that takes away the fun. After playing a few seasons that get's annoying..
SO if konami can't provide a good balance they should drop it...that's all i'm trying to say

Fair enough... but as people have said before, the simple solution is cranking up the difficulty. Top Player doesn't just mean the opponent is better, it means your team-mates are better aswell. Simple As! If not then I'm sorry you're not enjoying the mode, but the majority of people are, whether they find the AI annoying or not, so there really is no need to scrap it! I myself am enjoying this mode even though I too am frustrated by the AI at times...
They shouldn't stop with BAL. I just struggle to see how PES 2010 will progress when the match engine, animations, BAL and Master League need an overhaul to represent nextgen video gaming.
TBH, I couldn't give a fuck about the champions league mode as opposed to everything I mentioned above being fixed. The champions league mode to me seems like a cheap get-out for Konami. Rather than perfecting all our other modes, they've added a glossy but very simple tournament mode - kind of reminds me of old FIFA tactics. I hope they don't carry on doing it if they don't improve the gameplay and expand all the modes.

If I can score 5-10 goals starting from my 3rd season, playing as a AMF on TOP PLAYER, means you suck not the AI. You can't really say anything.

Yes you are crap, end off. Anyone can win trophies on beginner through to regular. Try top player and see how far you get.

Even though I don't play on the highest difficulty, I find it too easy. I can win everything.
Your BAL sucks, this doesn't matter that I haven't tried top player, because if I try this, no doubt the AI will own my ass and therefore their will be no point of this email.
Oh one more thing to add... You talk about the game evolving? ROFL! How the hell do you want them to do this when people like you criticise everything they try to add before YOU have thoroughly tested it, meaning trying the highest difficulty setting????????
Damn right you are if you play on normal.Winning trophies on normal is childs play, the comp can barely even tackle or mark properly.
And you suck as a CF, Ive score 32 goals as an AMF in 4 and a half seasons seasons and won 27 MoM and 12 MIP awards for my club and got my country to the world cup finals with 4 goals and 3 MoM awards. The only silverware Ive got is the L4 cup atm, as we finished 2nd in the league to Man U by goal difference last season, and my first few seasons were spent at middle table clubs in Italy. But Im currently in the knockout stage of the Euro Championship, the semi-final of the L4 cup and 1 point behind the league leaders Chelsea with 10 games to go.
And all on Top Player.
So for your so called assesment on BAL mode, its bunkum and will be treated as such. As for me "speaking for everyone" I was not, I was simply pointing out how the majority of people here have poured scorn on your statements and belittled your arguments by simply and obvious counterpoints you seem to be incapable of grasping.

Hi, I'm totally new here, and don't want to start on the wrong foot, but I don't think that most of you understand what OptimusPrime's talking about, as he was not giving you detailed information.
The AI is perfect on top player, nothing wrong with it - in most of the games. But there are streaks where the AI switches into "dumb-mode", and then you're going to suck no matter what. And it only starts to happen around season 4-5.
Just an example, I scored 9 goals in my first season with Toulouse, then had a little slump, switched to PSG and scored 6 in the second half of the second season. My 3rd season was pretty good with PSG, scored 27 in all competitions altogether. After that I decided to switch to Sampdoria. Everything looked good, I scored 3 in the 5 training games, and 3 in my first 5 league games too, we were 2nd in the league after 10 weeks.
Then "dumb-mode" kicked in, and suddenly my team started to play some extremely terrible football: 10 games 9 losses 1 draw, 0 goals, 0 assists, and I've been MOM 3 times with 6.0 rating! I saved my game, quit, next day I carried on, and everything worked perfectly once again, team plays well, I score goals, etc. After a few games dumb-mode kicks in again, and my teammates can't do anything right once more, the ball is on our half of the pitch for 80 minutes.
Roberto Carlos is my teammate, and when things are right he has great crosses from time to time, at least 2-3 every game. When dumb-mode starts, he will still go to the sideline, but NONE of his crosses reach me out of 35-40 tries in 8-10 games.
Every time you switch teams, dumb-mode seems stop, and only start again if you're getting pretty results once more.
I think that is the problem OptimusPrime tried to tell you, and it's not only him, I read comments from about 7-8 guys who played at least 5 seasons on different forums, and they ALL had the same problem - loving BAL throughout the first 3 seasons, and getting totally dejected in the 4th-5th. I've actually yet to find 1 single guy who's in his 5-6 (etc) season in BAL on Top player and didn't suffer from exactly the same problem at least once or twice.
BTW, I also started a game on regular to see if it has this dumb-mode too, but it seems regular is ok. (Unfortunately regular is way too easy, I'm probably an average player, and still score every game, mostly at least twice, even in my 2nd season.)
I really love BAL, great mode, but if this AI problem persists, it will totally ruin the game imho.
