Ok, this isnt me slagging Konami or PES. Because i love pes, im a pes fan and hope EA go bust :happy:

But after trailing through this forum for a couple of days and the forum over at pesfan, i keep noticing people saying "pes 2010 is best pes by far! and i love it!!"

(usually this happens when an admin/moderator is present)

Why dont people speak there minds? we are the "CONSUMERS", we spend our hard earned money on buying a product so why not give it some stick if its not what we expected.

Such as....

Online connection issues seems to have been made slightly better but its still there. It took me almost 15minutes trying to get a 1v1 ranked match because it kept coming up saying couldnt find other player or something. And it also took 20-25minutes to get a Legends match!, constantly going in waiting for it to load, then it says some error regarding other players or having to stop for unseen circumstances.

Also, BAL has been completely ignored this year. I can only speak for myself on this matter but since EA's Be A Pro and Konami's Be A Legend modes where created, its all i ever play. Theres nothing better than being a professional footballer! BUT! its the exact same scripting as 09 except you now have a stupid little bar to show if your manager trusts you or not?! Still no defense or goalkeeper positions.
(i hear you say "being GK would suck!") Believe it or not, there are some of us out there who want to play as the GK and it would be a tiny tiny tiny code to make that happen. So if other players didnt loose there favorite parts of the game, whats the problem?

Also, Master league.... where do i start....

I myself HATE master league, on any version of PES. If i wanted to be a manager and buy/sell players,make training routines, sign sponsors etc etc.... I would go out and buy Football Manager (oh wait, i did)
And to top it off, it seems Konami have put there entire focus on Master League this season, and after testing it out and reading other peoples reviews, it has bugs, the card system is too hard to get your head round.

Goalkeepers.... After extensive playing yesterday, i can safely say GK's are as bad as they have always been. There is no improvment at all! Infact, i think they may have gotten slightly worse?! Hardly ever catch the ball, always palm it into the six yard box where a striker is waiting patiently. Also, cant remember if it was this forum or pesfan. A player posted his goal reply up and the ball itself GOES THROUGH! the goalkeeper lol ghosts ooooooooo.

The audio is just terrible.

I'm happy they have created more boot slots. but c'mon are they serious???? how can a boot make the player run faster than the other boot?! The boot statistics are just ridiculous

They have made Messi stupidly over-powered! When hes sprinting, hes like Usain Bolt on Steroids.

The card system is fine.

I agree with some of your things but most of the time people expect to much of something. Like the 360 degree dribbling its in there but it's not like your going to really focus on using it.

ill agree with you there. People do expect much more. I myself am one of them.

Its the hype they create, this new feature and that new system. Then you get the game and its just a rebadged version of 09 with small tweeks

The game is improved since 2009, and I like pes2010, I also liked pes2009 occationally. I guess 2010 will be a mixed experience overall aswell, but the game is still improved.

But if I may be frank, it's baby steps. So much piss from last year is still in pes2010 that even my retarded neighbour understands that we are buying a revised pes2009 in a new cover.
The graphics is about as good as you would expected pes2008 had been and the animations is not any better than pes5.
The AI is questionable to say the least, but it's way better than 2009 in BAL mode.

Any game developer interested in conquering the football market could do a better job than EA and KONAMI in 2010.
Gather a team with standard coders and designers, hire a "football expert" and a few "football game experts" and the result would be better than the recycled (but enjoyable) crap we get each year.

By all means i dont mean to slate the game completely. as i said before i am a pes fan. I buy both fifa and pes each year and in my eyes pes wins every year. BUT... I'm just getting really tired of the happy clappers. The guys what come on forums saying its the best game ever and they cant fault it on anything. Just to get in nice with any konami staff looking......

It's those guys opinions what keep both pes and fifa taking "baby steps". Because when they come on forums saying they want to know what us fans want to see in the next pes, these happy clappers say stupid stuff like "oh its a great game, dont change anything. maybe just add different boots"

pff.... and the stupid thing is, They listen to them?!

So when people like us say we want to see BaL improved, and online sorted out, and even a small thing like being able to add logos onto shorts and socks. They dont add em! because they think the majority of the market want new boots!!!

I see alot of posts about the boots having stats but i like it, it's a good choice of boots and it gives a little oompfh to some players and if you notice on magazine, they do have boots for specific areas like speed and power and accuracy so you can't say it's unreal.

I thought there was a superstar (6*) option on the game though

While I agree on some points, and I definetly don't think this is the best PES ever, or better than Fifa, but taking a jab at master league is going too far. It's excellent as far as the managing goes, and comparing it to fifa manager is just plain dumb since you can't actually play as players... obviously, but I personally want to manage *and* play the game.

And what's so complicated about the card system? You just attain the cards for the players on what you think they should have.

Oh im definatly not saying the master league is a bad thing. I know there is hundreds and thousands of people who like it. Thats why i said "i speak for myself here"

My mentallity is.... I buy fifa and pes to PLAY football. And i buy Football manager to MANAGE football. I dont like them being mixed together lol

and i said Football Manager not FIFA manager

What im basically trying to say is, both FIFA and PES get created mainly to play football on, the managing part is just an add on but the basic code and purpose of them being created is to play. So i just think its rather stupid that the development team spent most of there time on the managing aspect of the game rather than the acctual playing part.

If Konami want to make a managing game then long live PES Manager 2010

But until then, Konami should focus more on fixing bugs, sorting online out, adding new features for playing football.


(thats my opinion, and i know i obviously dont have the same view as many people)

I was just highly dissapointed with the lack of development on BaL and them not making other improvments

oh cerianly, everyone has there opinions. Thats why i said in all my previous posts, this view on the master league is mine and mine alone. I know many if not all people who play pes love the master league.

I just cant see the point in spending an entire year just working on master league and forgetting about exhibition,BaL,fixing online, tiny things here and there like short/sock logos, better animations, fixing the goalkeepers.


instead of konami adding/fixing little things here and there they decided to focus only on master league.

The most important is shirt logos. Then, You can patch it as you wish. That's the beauty of PES. Patching freedom.

oh i agree that sock logos are not at the top of the list lol but i was just saying it as an example.

For us when we are using option files or creating kits ourselves, its a nice little add-on to be able to put the addidas logo on the socks of chelsea etc etc.... so they fit in more with the liscensed teams like man utd and liverpool.

Such as a small modification, they already have the edit mode scripted up nicely, adding the tiny option of adding a logo to shorts and socks would take a week or so to make? im not sure because im not a developer lol but i wouldnt imagine it taking long or taking up much space on the disk.

If they were leaving great gaping holes in the defence for oncoming forwards to run through and score what would you be saying then ?.

The master league is brilliant this year, played be a pro in fifa and hated it. there is some faults in the game but just try play round it. defending is so hard though computer can close u down all the time, and my defence has massive gaps and amy tom, dick and harry gets through. still needs improving but really enjoy it. had fifa 10 and bored off it after 2 weeks.

Yeah I know we alll hated the constant ref interference from pro 09 but seriously I'm being tackled from behind, defenders or whoever going right through my players and they just get up and play on leaving my players in a heap. More annoying is the fact they tend to make these leg breaking tackles right when you're about to strike at goal. And penalties, what are they have they been outlawed?

Its mainly an offline problem. Online with a human player defences are more open cos they actually come out to close me down whereas offline they just back off and hold the bank of 4 and stay like that constantly even when im running at them for like 20 yards. Its not always bad but sometimes it constantly happens.

Also i was playing online and i was Torres. He was in excellent condition and had some blistering pace yet he couldnt outrun Puyol? C'mon Puyol must be like 10 points slower maybe 8 yet he was out running me ffs.
