PES2?? are you having a laugh?? pes3 graphics were better than PES2, and pes2 was only a slight improvement graphically on pes1 cos it was still basic renderware they were using. we8 although looks blurry, graphically is far superior you really dont know alot about game graphics do ya??

but it ok, cos its a matter of choice I guess and if you feel pes2 graphics were better than fine, dont think theres alot out there thay will agree with ya, but fait enuff.
I suggest before you make a comment, first check out what your about to comment on, you clearly havn't got a copy of pes2 anymore have you, if you are happy with how pes4 looks I feel sorry for you, do yourself a favour and get a decent graphics card, then you will see how it should look (pc pes3). You really know the score on graphics dont you by saying the lighting effects are good, Dont think many people will agree with you on that one.

To me PES4 seems smoother and the graphics must clearer than we8. And I actually think the commentary is alright!!

did you actually play the previous games?, the stadiums on pes2 have miles more detail and the graphics sharper, and the players looked better, you can tell they have turned down the detail to fit in the improved animation in pes4, it looks like they have pushed the ps2 to its max, its a better game to play but it doesn't look better. You mention "lightning" I personaly think its shite, it makes them look like they have grey hair, it doesn't improve the look at all. Anyway the pc version will be the best, and easier to patch

PES3 looks even way better than PES2 does. I do agree that the lightning makes it look like the players have grey hair. I suggest you play your copy of PES2 for a match or two and than switch to PES3 or PES4. You'll see the difference believe me... It's bigger than you think. Or maybe you don't have a copy of PES? I do have them all, and I even play PES/PES2/PES3 every now and then, and the graphics look better every new version you play.

Anyway, for me PES has the best version on the PS2... Because I am used to it, and it just feels right. I have played PES3 on my pc and it looked better than the PS2 version, but it didn't play as well. Your last comment has more to do with taste than facts.....

pes2 is absoulute shite when you play it these days! there is no movement from players, and they are as stiff as a fucking lamp posts. anyone who thinks pes2 is better than pes3 no's shit about iss, and should stick to fifa.

You see wat you want to see right. I don't think that WE8 looks better than PES4, and I have also played PES4 for an hour or something. I see no differences in the way it looks. To me it feels that PES4 is a bit faster than WE8, but it is not a big difference.

how ahve you played pro evo 4

The graphics have improved with each new game, there is no doubt about that. However the person who said the graphics were sharper in PES2 (with reference to stadiums) has a point. In PES3, Konami used the background blur effect for the first time, and i think they over-cooked it, to such an extent that it makes the graphics a little fuzzy and shabby. This was only used in replays, but when the blur wasn't used, the graphics looked superbly crisp and detailed. I just hope the blur is toned down in PES4.

Hmm...I gave the game in front of me right now and have played for some hours now. The game is really too fast...it´s like watching a game of tennis. The ball reaches the opponents goal in 2-3 fast passes and then the play turns and it´s the same thing towards the other goal. What happened to all the passing around to get a good opportunity to advance with the ball? In PES4, it´s far too easy to reach the goalarea with some looooong faaast passes.:( Sorry to say this, I´m a true PES fan and love the series, but I´m a bit dissaponted with the speed of this one. Otherwise it´s a great game, nothing to complain about...but the speed...oh no! I haven´t played WE8 so I can´t compare them in terms of speed.

Well, there is some slowdown in the goalarea, but it doesn´t happen all the time and it´s not too bad.

I think the graphics are better than any PES title. The new replays are awesome and the player details are superb. Even the stadiums have been updated greatly (look att Delle Alpi for example).

Take care!

the gameplay is faster, no slowdowns... but very disappointed the japanese commentator is not in the game( i know that PES is supposed to be a euro-version) the free kicks is easier to score/beat the walls.. i almost scored but it hit the post

have to disagree with ekequist there, i think the pace is fine, SOMETIMES when owen is on red, he can look a bit strange, but otherwise its grand. great game, great game. far superior to pes3

i agree, i think the slightly faster pace is a welcome change. Although i hav only played the ops2 demo i can say pes4 is a must buy. Some of the passing moves are so smooth and quick and just wait till u see ur first long range effort bend towards the top corner.........its beautiful.
this is gonna be the greatest game ever.

got the ops2 demo today and what can i say, its superb bit pissed off with the game length but apart from that its absolutely brilliant. alot quicker which i think is better, harder to score which is alot better as pes3 was a bit to easy, and the shots are alot better not just the ordinary straight shot with a little curl but depending on how u shoot and who you shoot with the ball will curl and dip, i like the new free kick style as a player nearby can dummy it or have a go himself.

if you remember every1 was sayin it was solid to score on pes3 this time last year BUT! looking at the goals scored by Dannyboy they look different gravy. what annoyed me on pes3 when it came out was when u went 1-0 down ya team found it hard to find its bouncebackability. i certainly hope that you can find it quicker on pes4

If the gameplay is much faster than in PES3, then I think Konami have failed (and I´ll stick to PES3 for at least a year). Even PES3 felt sometimes too fast when compared to real thing and whoever suggests that PES4 should relate to PES2, should get his head examined! Somehow I feel they´ve made too drastic changes to the game and we probably have to wait for PES5 or get the WE8:I!

it easy to score on free kick on pes 3 you just have to learn it. I scored on four free kicks in one match once.

i also got the demo today (out the mag). I must say, it feels wierd...surprisingly it feels completely different to PES3, alot "looser" to be exact, in a good way though...I'm made up with it, just the damn demo length is what annoys me!

is it me or do you find it alot more rewarding passing players with silky skills? its brilliant, though slightly easier its more exciting and i love it!
