Well atleast you got us some info man :) Keep it up. Should we expect anymore tonight?

i was hoping for some photos, but due to this going asolutely EVERYWHERE in the PES world, i don't blame him for not risking it.

just noticed dunkthejunk's comments about arshavin. are u serious? he's at zenith now, i know he'll be leaving, but where do u suppose konami are going to put him? should they guess which club he's going to? he has to be somewhere!! lmao

as others say, this is definitely not a final build, i can say that 200% for a fact as there are things to be added, but whether or not a WHOLE new mode will be added, i doubt very much.

If this is true, I probably won't buy it. Seriously, do these guys making PES actually bother? Do they care? You would have thought after the disappointment of PES 2008, that they were going to really go for it this time, make a top football game, that would really use the strengths of the next generation consoles. Evidently not.

Completely agree... The reason they (Konami) keep doing this is because Most PES fans are satisfied by a version of PES6 with good graphics.

However, customers should be aware of the FACT that Next Gen Consoles (PS3) are capable of much more than just mere tweaks and new game modes.

And as for Konami, Do they actually care at all?? Do they actually bother? I mean, by stating that "The gameplay is PES2008, the way it should have been" -they- are openly admitting that PES08 should not have been released in the 1st place.

And, "Most of the stats are the same as last year" -this- translates into Most of the Stats in PES09 are the same we've been using since 2004.

I don't understand.. Shouldn't a Next Gen game have NEW GAMEPLAY FEATURES (not ridiculous features such as "Diving" -but- features that are actually useful), NEW STATS, NEW CONTROLS, a "Complete Overhaul" in every aspect??

Does Konami expects me to believe that they don't have enough TIME to introduce New (Significant) Gameplay Features?? Because that trick is getting old..

i actually love pes2008 as an offline game playing against other ppl. much better than pes6 imo. all it needs is to be slowed down slightly, and make it harder to score. then fix the lag online and i'd be extatic.

nice graphics are one thing, but really the gameplay is what concerns me.

Dude, I don't mean to disrespect but.. PES08 is bad, even Konami themselves openly recognize that FACT.

The game needs much better movements, much better AI both Defensively and in the Attacking part of the pitch, New Controls, New Stats, New Gameplay Features, the list of things that PES08 can improve is endless.

And Bottom Line still is that the PS3 is capable of a much better system of Stats and Special Abilities -and- logically is capable of producing a much better and realistic Gameplay.

PES 2008 is far away from what a Proper Football Sim should be.

Spot on, I honestly wouldn't mind if PES 2009's graphics were identical to that of 2008 as long as the gameplay is improved. All of the points you have just mentioned are required in this new PES, and I'd also add to that, the manner in which the CPU have "super-powers". Whenever I play against the CPU, even if the CPU team is Rosenberg, every player seems to be able to dribble like Cristiano Ronaldo etc.

i think i'm just easy to please :)

i just want to play footy on the console, if i create the goal with passing and movement, and dont score the same goals over and over (like on most footy games it seems), then i'm happy :)

what u say i'm sure is very true. something he said in a text message that wasnt in the interview i posted was that it was basically the "same" engine, but tweaked much better than 2008. for me thats good, but if ur looking for more from it i can see why u'd be disapointed.

i'll add to that i only play online. so the AI of my opponent doesn't really matter to me. i dont play offline for the very reason that the AI is so frustratingly effective, when it has to be. in that way i can see what u mean about it being poor,

I only played PES6 online because it was so addictive and lag-free however I've always had trouble playing a lag-free game of PES 2008 and have had to resort to Single Player. Hopefully if the online is truly lag-free with this new version then I'd definetely consider joining the PELLUK league again after my successful reign with Paris-Saint Germain. You'd have to teach me the ropes with all the new transfers and depth that has been added though. ;)

PS: Just noticed that the PELLUK site has taken down the thread with the leaked information ? Any particular reason, or has the guy you interviewed kindly asked for it to be removed ?

I'm disappointed because Seabass promised last year "a Complete Overhaul in every Aspect" -and- now it seems the "Complete Overhaul" was Seabass way of saying "I will just tweak the game slightly".

Tell me one thing, HOW can you justify that the PS2 versions of PES actually have better off-the-ball movement (AI) than the PS3 versions.. How is that Possible?? How could anyone justify that?

Surely, Konami must be doing something wrong, either they have no idea of what to do with Next Gen Consoles -or- they just don't care that much, and always end up releasing the same games with some subtle tweaks here and there.

Even IF the game turns out to be just as addictive and entertaining as PES6 -I- would still be disappointed about the FACT that konami is still using the same system of Stats and Special Abilities they've been using for 5 YEARS now.

I mean, shouldn't PS3 versions have a better set of Stats and Special Abilities?? A set of Stats to actually cover The BASIC ASPECTS properly? It is always disappointing to know that after 5 years -the- game is still basically the same.

WHEN will Konami truly release a NEW Game?? By the looks of it, PES 2010 will be yet another TWEAKED version of PES 2008.. So we'll probably get to see the 1st proper Football Sim (at the very least) by 2012.

if the gameplay is back to itz best and online dusnt lag and the graphics are better then thats good thats all i care about to be honest, optionfiles an patches can sort out kits and teams n everythin. all i want is pro evolution soccer to get back to itz best f i think thats more important then they can start working on new game modes n stuff properly for pes 2010 knowing that they have their proper gameplay back. i think pes 2009 is gunna be a great game but pes 2010 will be the big one.

Wow. After reading that interview it seems to me we are in for more of the same, lazy, crap from the past 2 years.

"Have we finally moved into the "Next Gen" or are we still polishing a turd (graphics wise)

The graphics are similar but the lighting effects (floodlights/sun etc) are spectacular. It really adds to the feel of the game, definitely the best I have seen in a sports game but I haven't seen Fifa 09 yet"

Is this a joke? THE LIGHTING? WHO CARES ABOUT THE F'n LIGHTING. HOW ABOUT THE PLAYERS YOU MORONS.

Here's to hope for someone else to take over the PES franchise for 2010.

also,
too bad arshavin won't be at zenit by the time this game comes out.

^Well you are a bit right but lighting is a very big part of the games graphics. Proper lighting = more realism and graphics. Lighting is the biggest advantage the 360/ps3 got over ps2.

"PES2008 definitely favoured the attacking side with scoring being particularly easy. Is this the case in 2009?

...Obviously if you get up to them and pass across them its easy but that's the same in real life."

In other words, the dragback thing still exists. :/

Sebass said in an interview "maybe not next year". this could either mean he is working on a new engine (which is still not finished) and KONAMI again is pushing Seabass to release a tweaked game this year. Or Seabass is still working on the same engine and found out the end of the engine has been reached, so the only thing to do is polish up the graphics and add more modes. The last thing also means no freedom for shooting and passing where ever you want, no smart AI, no realistic goalkeepers etc as in the previous version.

Very promising things this year.

Become A Legend sounds good. I enjoy Captain Your Country/Be A Pro FIFA. Hopefully its beter than FIFA's one though

Starting In A Youth Team and as you get better you get offers from clubs, maybe you get to captain your country at some point aswell.

good job about Liverpool & Manchester United being licensed and 19 stadiums :O

including Wembley. Maybe this year Emirates is there maybe a few like Goodison, Villa Park, White Hart Line

If the AI is better, as they say, then i will buy it

Yes. Same as it does in real life.

I'm sure you'd have something to moan about if the pass button didn't work when you get to a certain point in the penalty area.

It's realistic, it happens, therefore it belongs in the game.

This sounds very good. Online Gameplay was awful last time so lets hope it is much better this year.
Worst things come to the worst, Master League is still the same but if the gameplay is different then it will be much better won't it.
Another thing that sounds good is that all the big name players like Messi wont just walk through the defences anymore!
