How do you slide when in possession?

I press O, but the player always long passes.

Even when he's chasing a ball about to go out, I press O, his power bar will charge up instead (for long pass).

And I've to watch the ball roll out.

So how do you slide when in possession?

Sometimes the guy will slide, sometimes the power bar will start to fill up, but usually when I'm running (pressing R1) and chasing a ball and press O it will perform a slide.

When I'm trying to keep it in, it only happened once.
When it seemed destined to go out, my mate just stopped, and I got it and crossed and fired.

sorry, I was searching and it wasn't working. So I am just gonn ask and hope zyg bails me out.

When curling the ball on free kicks. I shoot, then I should immediately hold in what direction? Left or right, based on the view looking from behind kicker towards goal? Or is it up/down, based on view from camera angle wide after ball is on path. I end up getting things crossed and sending the ball in low or high. It's gettin frustrating.

Also anyone edited flags manually from the guide on neoseeker? why does Arsenal's seem to look like crap? Like they didnt get the blue right in the shield.

Free Kicks basic guide:
Hold left or right to curl it left or right in the direction the ball goes (from the point of view of the kick taker). So it's the same whether you're shooting in either direction. Hold up to add speed and reduce height or the shot/cross. Hold down to add height and reduce speed. Hold neither up or down to get it between the two.
When you are close to the area, better to hold down when shooting (unless you're trying one of the cheeky shots - expained in the Hints section). As you get further away from the area, hold neither up/down (but do always curl left or right as needed) and then for far away, hold up.

Passing Shooting Why?

Why on my game (Pro Evo 3 on PS2) does the computer sometimes take it upon itself to pass or shoot when i haven't pressed any buttons. It is really annoying. Is there some sort of setting i am missing. I will be clear through and the player will shoot or hoof a long pass. Any ideas? Cheers! :confused:

I don't think there's anything you can do to change this. For me it happens very rarely and usually for clearances. Maybe the cursor change setting has an effect? I use full manual.

I would like to know is there are any way of stoping your player for going to the balll when it's going out of the field (for the throw in)

when the other team tries to take it???

the flick over the head makes for some sweet replays when you utilize it for a self volley.
