I had a good session of the PES2009 demo with a mate last night and was keeping my judgment reserved upto now because I didn't think it was fair to comment from just playing against the CPU.

After the session I was pretty happy with the outcome, there was no major goalkeeper errors and a lot of the new stuff kept me well entertained. But then this morning I was using PES6 for our league and the game play just felt a lot more responsive and less ropey, it pretty much left it for dead.

I'll wait for the full release (which I went ahead and pre ordered from Play.com) but I just think our game as we know it is gone. I'll either bite the bullet and get on with it or just forget about new releases completely and just play PES6 for the rest of my life.

P.S. Fifa is not an option.

FIFA is never an option.

Having said that, I just had an extended chat with one of my mates who bought the full FIFA game and said it is absolutely sensational. Says the demo doesn't do it justice. This means two things for me:

a) I might have to consider FIFA

b) PES demo does not do it justice and the full release might be sensational as well?

Personally, i dont see the big deal with people complaining about the lack of animation, or changes between this years and past WE' games.

I play winning eleven not becaseu it has teh 'COOLEST' graphics, or it has all the leagues, or it completely feels soooo different than any soccer game i played.

I instead play it because it is familiar, and almost like family to me. The game play is similar to the last games, how i like it.

Each new game really isnt a NEW game, but more so a new updated version of the past games. I like that, some may not.

And i also like that it is a "Gamers" Game, cause of the customizability. Is that even a word? LOL

WIth that said, i am happy with PES 09', it feels good, like PES 5ish good, but with a little quicker movement, new moves, and little things updated, not to mention it being on PS3 platform.

This all makes me happy and is eveyrthing i ever expected.

And the Legend mode is pretty cool too.

I'd defernately give FIFA a shout mate, I will get both this year again. That way get my fix of the best parts of both games.

I wouldn't count on the 2nd comment???

How not? If FIFA can go from good to excellent, why can't PES? I'm sure I remember that happening with previous versions anyway.

Chill dude chill, I didn't say it wouldn't... I just said don't count on it. That way ya won't be too disappointed if it does turn out shit.

Ha there's no need for me to chill. I was just interested as to why you thought the opposite.

Cos I am use to the disappointment that PES offers. End of the day, I should be, I have supported the franchise since it was on SNES

Well after playing a couple of games all I can say is that this game is incredible hard to beat. So far I played 6 games won 2 and lost 4 to a bullshit 1-0. At first I thought they removed the cheats but you still have a good 2-3 seconds from taking a shot to the player really making contact giving the AI enough time to block you. Also your defenders still make stupid mistakes in the last 3-4 minutes of the game.

The pace of the game is starting to annoy me as well. Seems like my players took a dump in their shorts and can't run for shit...Seems hard to beat without edited players...

Maybe my style just suits this game but I seem to be able to destroy teams and was able to do so from my very first game. This is on Top Player as well. I hope there's a 6th star.

wanna know what i'm thinking about ... in the Demo, every player's condition is Green ... imagine the likes of Ronaldo & Messi on red ? isn't worth thinking about if you're up against them on red :D

not long now until the 17th!

I play on all red as it the fairest way.

Imagine if Messi, Eto' and Henry were all grey. and you had Torres, Keane and Gerrard all red. Not exactly fair now is it.

I say if everyone is red, they can all play to the best of there ability.

I've had players slide in for the ball, clatter the man and get sent off without pressing the button now on numerous occasions.

The fuck is this all about?
