Pro Evolution Soccer 3: The League
The new PES3 national competition is due to begin on September 19th, 2003. Play the PES3 demo disk to see if you are good enough to enter the latter stages and compete with the best PES players in the UK.
"Konami of Europe, GAME and Dennis Publishing expand hugely successful pre-release partnership in run up to November launch.
As Konami of Europe ramps up for the November release of its eagerly-awaited Pro Evolution Soccer 3 title for PlayStation 2, the publisher has announced it is to again team up with retail giant GAME and Computer and Video Games Magazine for a second, UK-wide Pro Evolution Soccer promotion.
The trio previously joined forces last year for the phenomenally successful National Pro Evolution Soccer 2 Championship, wherein consumers pre-ordering Pro Evolution Soccer 2 were given a demo version that entitled them to enter a competition to find the greatest PES2 player. Heats were held in GAME stores across the country, with East London’s David Sefah emerging as the winner in the final held at Chelsea’s Stamford Bridge.
Following its success, Konami, GAME and CVG have devised a larger and far-reaching follow-up, and The Pro Evolution Soccer 3 National League will begin from September 19th. From this date, visitors to any of 66 GAME stores will be able to pre-order Pro Evolution Soccer 3 for £1.99 (and is redeemable against the price of the full game) and will receive an exclusive playable demo of what is being hailed as the definitive football game for any system. On playing the demo and winning a match, players will receive a special code that can be entered at participating GAME stores or via www.pesleague.co.uk. The best players will then be selected and entered into a special PES3 National League, where they will be put into individual leagues against rival players with matches to be played in chosen GAME centres nationwide.
Matches will be played from the beginning of November through to June, with the ultimate champion walking away with a number of very special football and video game-related prizes. “We were extremely pleased with the reception given to last year’s tournament, and see the National League as the way forward in spreading word about Pro Evolution Soccer 3,” said Jon Murphy, UK Marketing and PR Manager for Konami. “The game enjoys a huge fan base and we see this as a means or organising a proper competitive league and spreading word of mouth about one of our key releases.”
Said Lisa Artemis, PR Executive for GAME: “Interest in Pro Evolution Soccer 3 is already high, and this is the perfect way for people to play the game well in advance of launch. The previous tournament was a huge success and saw GAME branches packed with people out to prove they were the best players. Making it bigger and better is the natural progression and we are anticipating an even greater success than last year.”
The tournament will be heavily flagged in GAME stores and will also be advertised in Dennis Publishing’s Maxim and CVG titles, and will be supported by a wealth of POS and prizes for initial entrants and winners."
For this PES3 competition, those who have been playing Winning Eleven 7 will have a big advantage over those who haven't. Don't forget to practice with different camera views and on 5 minute matches too. The current UK champ, David Sefah, is a truly great PES player who won't give up his crown without a fight, so get practicing!
Good luck to all forum members who enter this competition. Let us know how it goes!

OK. You have to go to a Game store and pre-order PES3 to be able to get the demo disk for £1.99. You don't actually have to buy PES3 after that. So you can either give them wrong details for you or when they contact you to buy PES3, tell them you got it cheaper elsewhere (like £29.99 from the link at pesinsight.com!).
OK. The official page for the league is:
www.pesleague.co.uk
and the competition is only open to those in the UK (or those who are willing to travel to the UK repeatedly to take part).

Dates for the league meetings are:
Saturday 22 November
Saturday 20 December
Saturday 31 January
Saturday 28 February
Saturday 27 March
Saturday 24 April
Saturday 29 May
Saturday 26 June
=======================
Someone has stated that:
"You dont have to attend every event, just play 20 games over all those dates. max of 7 per session. so you could complete all your games in 4 sessions in theory"
which could be correct but may not be so keep this in mind.
=======================
The release date of the demo from above has probably changed but that is all that should be different (if it is).
The demo will most likely be a match featuring England V Argentina where you play as England. More details on this to follow.
Last year, it was the first half of a 5 minute match with England on green form arrows and the opposition (Brazil) on red form arrows playing on a 5* difficulty match.
A score of 3-0 was good enough to get you through last time (although not in every case).
Some people now have a version of PES3 which will give them the biggest advantage in this competition. Try to play play a bit of Winning Eleven 7 if you can as this is a very similar game.
All the questions should have been answered above.
So post below to let us know how it is going for you in the demo. Let's see what kind of scores people are getting.
Good luck to all forum members of www.pesinsight.com!
