i agree, the classic players get no time at all, but hopefully the edit mode this year will be off the hook,

I hope so.. by the way, haven't you ever noticed How PES always keeps some Classic Players fully edited; Zinedine Zidane was fully edited in PES6, and he had already retired by that Time. Most of the Germans Faces could be found in the Edit Mode (alhough their Default Settings where random Names and Faces).

So I don't see Why Konami cannot do the same with some of the Greatest Players of all-time. Plus, It's annoying to see that Peter Crouch haves an impressive-looking Face -while- the likes of Maradona and Pele have some cheap-random-looking Faces.

I don't really care that much about the Names, but Konami should (at least) have the Decency of Including their Haircuts (back in PES5, "Special Haircuts") and their Faces in the Edit Mode.

Anyways, it would be cool to see players such as Carlos Valderrama (with the HUGE fro) or Pele or Maradona -in- High Def Graphics.

And yet again, what French guy would Not want to see Zinedine Zidane and Michel Platini in High Def Graphics?? What Italian wouldn't want to see Roberto Baggio and Franco Baresi in High Def Graphics??

What Argentine/Napoli Fan/Football Fan would Not want to see The Diego Armando Maradona in High Def Graphics??

I fail to see Why "Classic Players" are still Outdated with their random Names and Faces. If they are going to look like shit -then- Konami shouldn't even bother including them in the game.

Original?

Correction: Classic players are treated as an extra/nuisance, they're also entirely under utilised and could be a unique aspect of PES.

Finally!! someone who actually understand what I'm trying to say.. for fucks sake! How can anyone call himself a Football Fan -while- at the same time say "Classic Players are just an extra".

It just happens to be that Classic are extremely Important in real-life Football, they Revolutionized the game in every Aspect; from Pele and the coveted # 10 shirt, to the Introduction of Libero by Beckenbauer, to "Garrincha" who was The Original # 7, to Johan Cruijff The "Total Footballer" -to- Maradona who is renowned as The Greatest of them all.

Honestly, I fail to understand How any Football Fan can think of this Legends as an "Extra", a "Detail".. I can tell you one thing, you tell a true AC Milan Fan that Franco Baresi is an extra, and he'll kick your ass.. And in the same way, I'm sure that once Paolo Maldini retires, AC Milan Fans would like it if he was Included in Future Football Sims.

In the same way, I'm sure Most Southampton fans (or EPL fans) would love it if Matt Le Tissier was properly Featured in the game.

But anyways, I really don't know why Classic Players are treated like an extra.. Clearly showing a Difference between a Football Amateur and a Producer.

And again, Fully Edited Classic Players with real Names and real Faces would give the "PES Shop" a New Dimension -as- Unlocking Classic Players who actually look like themselves would be a treat.

Even if your Not particularly fond of Classic Players.. Wouldn't it be cool to see a Peculiar player such as Carlos Valderrama in High Def Graphics?? Just for the sake of watching the guy with the Ridiculously Huge Afro in the pitch?

Oh well, at least Juan Roman Riquelme (one of the last, if not The last real # 10) looks exactly like his real-life counterpart.

Classic players are an extra. Just an extra.

No they are Obviously Not, they are just treated like extras.. And as for your opinion, I think it's ridiculous.. you OBVIOUSLY never watched (or have bothered to see the footage there is to see) Maradona, nor Pele, nor Cruijff, nor Valderrama, etc, etc..

I guess you Only care about Cristiano Ronaldo, Messi, Kaka, etc, etc.. Only a few number of players -and- Most of them Hugely OVERRATED by the Modern Press.

And again, if they are going to be "extras" -then- Why even bother to include them?? It's a complete waste of Space, they could use that Space (or Memory) for better features.

My Opinion is that if Konami wants to include them with random Stats, random Names, and random Faces -in- other words, looking like shit -then- Why even bother to include such a Diminishing feature??

So Bottom Line is; crappy-looking Classics?? No thanks, if anything it's Diminishing and worthless. Fully Edited Classics? That would be cool, it would be something New, something we have never seen in a Football Sim -Plus- it would give more value to the "PES Shop", a LOT more Value.

i find it annoyin in pes that the lesser so called populer players ie... for example mido of boro or milner of newcastle etc.. dont eve look like there real life faces and also the reserve team players ave the same faces on every team in pes. but the faces on the vid are spot on.

At least in the England League there are much more players that look like real life. In serie A there are less. It's not fair. For example why is Anderson (Man utd) looking so good compared to real life and Giovinco isn't? Giovinco is well known. Italians are cheated in this game even in the stats. I'm not italian btw but I find it annoying with how much this game prefers english players. Even Spain are cheated in stats. Look at Torres. But let's not keep talking about that.
OT: As I said, I'm really glad that they made Riquelme again. He looks 10*better and more realistic.

I would rate Juan Roman Riquelme among the Top 15 Players I've seen, ha has done some Impressive things with Boca Juniors and Villarreal. His Semi-Final Champions League run with Villarreal was incredible, who would have thought that Villarreal would make it to the last 4?

He has also won 3 Copa Libertadores (South American equivalent of "Champions League"), and 1 Intercontinental Cup against Del Bosque's Real Madrid. Riquelme is like a mix between Zidane and Valderrama, Unique.

I'm also glad that Riquelme is edited and looks really impressive in terms of Face Details, etc, etc.. But I cannot help but feel disappointed -because- I think Konami should also take the same Interest with the Classic Players..

How can Peter Crouch have a spot-on Face -while- on the other hand, Diego Armando Maradona haves some random (cheap) looking Face??

I think that if Konami is going to include "Classic Players" in the PES series -then- they should also have the Decency of Editing their Faces -as- it is kind of Diminishing to see that the Modern Average player haves an impressive-looking Face, while the likes of Pele and Maradona look like shit.

For one thing, I would love to see Romario and Carlos Valderrama in full Detail, similar to Riquelme.. Is that so hard to accomplish?? Is that too much to ask?? I don't think so, I think Konami should Introduce something to Improve -or- give more Value to the "PES Shop".

And, Fully Edited, even if their Names remain Random, Classic Players who actually "Look" like themselves would definitely give more Value to the "PES Shop" -as- people would take notice of that, and "Unlocking" players would be worth it.

We could easily Edit all those "Classic Teams" -However- The thing we CANNOT edit are the Players, Edited Players just look Cheap. Konami should start Featuring the "Classic Players" with their Real Faces.. even if they have Random Names, their Real Faces should be somewhere in the Edit Mode.

This way we can have good-looking versions of Maradona, Pele, Cruyff, etc, etc.. and we can Edit any Classic Team.

However, having a Classic Team -with- Crappy looking Classic Players is a waste of Space.. Nobody likes to play with Players that do Not even look like themselves. Plus, Classic Players with their Real Faces would give a Lot more Value to the "PES Shop".

Riquelme looks spot-on.. Konami has done a great job with the lighting in the Graphics, This Riquelme looks CLEARLY improved over last year's. If only Konami took notice of all those details with the Classic Players.

ive always wondered whether there is some sort of license needed to represent classic players, if konami were to make them look as real as players like riquelme, ribery, etc. Pro evo never has their real names either...

ive always wondered whether there is some sort of license needed to represent classic players, if konami were to make them look as real as players like riquelme, ribery, etc. Pro evo never has their real names either...

I also used to think the same thing but.. Lack of Licenses didn't prevented them from Featuring Nike Vapors in Past Games..

They also didn't had the German National Team License, so all the players in the Team had random Faces and Names -and- regardless, Most of the players Real faces could be found in the Edit Mode, Names where nowhere to be found.

So I don't think it's a matter of Lacking some Licenses.. I think that with all the Effort and Time invested in Improving the Graphics and the Online Lag, etc, etc.. Konami just have not thought about the "Classic Players".. wich is a shame really.

As most Fans would rather see Pele and Maradona in Full Detail -instead- of having plenty of Average players with spot-on Faces. But Who Knows?? Maybe Konami includes their Real Faces somewhere in the Edit Mode..

And if Not, at least I'd expect to see some "Special Hairstyles" like in PES5; the Valderrama fro, Baggio Ponytail, Zidane hairstyle, etc, etc..
