The thing with the PES series is that the controls are very intuitive and it's probably one of the easiest sports games to get into. To me it seems that a good knowledge of the real game really helps with playing PES and shortens the learning curve. Really one of the best facets to the game for my money, I really like that you don't have to be a seasoned vet at PES to enjoy a good tight game against someone more experienced.

About 75% of skill and 25% of luck/form?.
Yes,controls are pretty easy and intuitive, but if you want to become better then average you have to know some of the harder to use controls.

From day 1 I had a very bad feeling about PES4. It's an amazing game, but it's not PES1, PES2 or PES3. The game is based on luck, not skill. The arrows, the momentum etc ... I'm playing for 6 months, my friend played against me yesterday in his first time in his life, and he won 5-3. Yes, he controls the stick perfectly and is one of the best FIFA players in the world, but damn I'm a good player. We played 20 games, he won 40% of them, in his first day.

What i'm trying to say ... I'm the only one that knows the fact this game is pure luck? and what aspects effect this luck?

* If you are going to comment on the fact he won in his first day, don't. Only good comments please.

Sometimes you don't always get the luck, but i still think PES 4 is more skill reliant rather than luck

As someone stated earlier, if results were based purely on who the better team (player) was then there would be no point in playing and in football in general. I agree you can be unlucky, like hitting the post several times or something, or conceding an freak own goal, but that does not mean, by any stretch of the imagination, that the game is based on luck. I think you have to look closely at your defensive play if your conceding large amounts of goals against 'newbies' (i hate that word) in Pro.

I'm not a big player of PES in general but the fact that this whole forum topic has been started just goes to prove what a great game it is!

I have been playing PES4 on and off two months before its release date and I have never scored a free kick during match play, PES4 has a whole mystery around it that I have never come across in a game full stop. I am still finding web-sites giving advice on how to perform tricks etc.

As for luck, well I have just about managed to learn how to score from outside of the area 80% of the time.

Heres a new topic for you, I played FIFA earlier today for about three minutes. FIFA 2006, should they even bother????

if the game was based on luck...that noob shud consider himself unlucky he lost 60% of the games to you and that he didint win 50% of them......if it is luck law of averages wud say its 50/50...so obviously skill is involved  well.... am i right or am i right!!!
