(PES4) Online For PS2 STILL Not Ruled Out and XBox Live News

As we revealed yesterday, Konami were in the throes of announcing details regarding Pro Evolution Soccer 4's online plans and we now have the full story with regard to the Xbox iteration.

The game will be fully compatible with Xbox Live so, for the first time ever, players will be able to go head-to-head online. In addition to realtime matches, the Xbox Live service will also provide a rating system where players can set up mini-leagues. Which is all a bit of a coup for Microsoft's machine, seeing as this is PES4's Xbox debut.

That's not to say it won't be online on other systems. We asked Konami if there would be any forthcoming PS2 online announcements and they told us they were "still looking into it". One thing's for sure, if PES4 on PS2 isn't online, multi-format gamers will have a simple choice when it comes to which version of the game to splash out on.

IMO, its gonna be like WE in Japan where you will be able to download stuff into your PS2 harddrive

i'm sure konami won't forget PC users. Didn't we ealier that x box and PC are quite the same (programmation,...) so if they succed in XBox, Pc version will be online

PC online is a totally different concept than Live though. It would require much more programming effort. And there are already lots of Live APIs which can be used to make online gaming easier. Besides, its a no brainer, the voice and friends features of live make online gaming just like playing with mates. All the same chat/taunts. I regularly play Live with my mate when I'm too busy to visit him in person, and we catch up via a nice chat online. To do that over PES4 is gonna be ace.

x box sales will be on the up when that comes out as every1 with a ps2 will buy 1 just for pes4

dats messed up man!!!! not even on pc nore in ps2, whats going on konami!! they ahve some dodgy dealing going on between them and xbox!! waste of money getting an xbox just 2 play online, even though it will b nice, but wut about pc, and ps2 users?? dont they want2 attract more people into playing the game online? now ot many will enjoy that from pro evo 4.... well pissed off about that, i mean its not dat i canta fford an xbox, just dat its pointless buying one just 2 play pro evo online!!!i rather spend my money modding my pc thank u....
