I'm using the PC version right, so I captured it using Taksi.

Simple.

Thank you sir

Trying it out later.

Demo plays fine by the way, way different from PES4, so I have to get used to it.

Im hugely disappointed with the PES5 demo. I loved Pes4 sooo much too but, i just cannot see the improvements talked about in this post (and i really tried to find them)

Ive now played the demo for hours and hours and certain annoying things have become apparent.

The noise of EACH kick - What the hell is that all about? Its now like some plastic thud (if you programme in Flash, you'll know what i mean) and hugely takes away from the realism of the game.

I find free kicks conceded/won nearly every 20-30 seconds. It seems nearly every tussle for the ball ends up in a free kick now. If it wasn't for the ref playing advantage sometimes, the game would be unplayable.

The game / ball plays like it is now on marble or hard ice or concrete. There is a very noticable lack of control and that was the one thing that made Pes4 so satisfying - Less control has to be a bad thing. It just feels much more "slidey" for want of a better word.

I'd also moan about the shooting and set pieces but, im not going to as it may just be me that's simply no good at it yet but, again, there definitely seems like less "pick up and play" control to that aspect too.

The animations for most parts of this game seem EXACTLY like Pes4 including celebrations, the referee, bookings, fair play bollocks etc etc - also disappointing! The only new animations seem to a few things in game like the sliding tackle, turning and maybe a shot or two and these are not that much of plus in my opinion. They dont add to the game enough to make up for the overall loss of satisfaction that i grew to love in Pes4.

Oh dear - Im gutted about this as im a huge Pes fan :-( Never mind, it still plays fifa off the park!

Red..

Generally you're right, BUT this is football, most of 'annoying' things you've mentioned take place in real life, try to consieder this.

As for me, I didn't like that game for first few matches, but now... Damn, it's way more realistic than any other football game. It's trully fantastic!

I think the reduced level of control is designed to make it harder - it isn't easy to control the ball in real football anyway. How often werre some of us dribbling past five or six players and how often does it happen in real life?

The game does seem quicker, and more like PES3 with shots being more powerful again - you only need to really tap the shoot button when near the goal otherwise it can, and will, fly high over the bar. It does play much differently from PES4, but I don't think that's a bad thing. It certainly "feels" different.

While the gameplay i think is great, has anyone noticed that they havnt fixed the empty stands bug that plagues WE9? Also i wonder if PES5 will have later transfers and this years kits.

I can only hope that this is an early demo and Konami are going to fix it up - because it looks very unfinished.

the empty stadium thing is shocking! they are taking the piss if it's not fixed for he final version. If not then they won't be getting my money for the game

plus the transfer wont be updated to SEPT 1st i bet in spite of what they say just like last year ... the kits of licenced teams will be updated though that's certain.

hi to every1,
i've just played the demo for 10 mins...........what can i say..IT IS EVOLVING.
GREAT GAME!
By the way those who play the demo without the expander, cannot feel the new gameplay completly. Now we really have to think when playing!

First of all KIST:
You get the expansion patch to work by placing it in the PES5 directory.
Than run it and when the little window appears, you press 'run game'
When in the game, choose match and when you are in the settings screen (with the level, time, season, etc.) you press one of the function keys for the patch (for instance F3 for a 15 minute match).
That should work.

About the windowed mode: In the PES 5 directory you find a file called settings.
The are radio-buttons to choose between windowed mode or full screen.

The game itself:
Yes, it is faster than WE9 and almost as fast as PES 4 (little slower), which is a little disappointment, but Konami seems to think that we Europeans prefer the more arcadey game, as they always speed up the PES version, compared with the WE-predecessor. That is every year the case :(
I cannot understand the comment of redkola, who said he did not see the improvements compared with PES 4. Where do you want me to start? :)
Passing is made harder, because of the new ball-physics. It follows the unequallities at the pitch more; It bounces more, so to say.
That brings us to the second change: Controlling the ball is harder because of the bounce of the ball and a player with lower technique-ability will have more problems controlling it: Very realistic.
Defending is harder, because you cannot go through your opponent when tackling him; you should do that more gently, else you get a free kick against you.
The tactics are much better than PES 4. When you now man-mark a player, it works much better, especially if you use covering with another player near the marker.
Also, the players keep their positions better, according to the ones you setted in the formations screen and the attacking and defending arrows. Also the other setting, like strategies and team-setting work much better.
These are just a few improvements.... ;)

Downloaded it yesterday and had a few games! I haven't got the best computer or graphics card so it looked a bit weird and went really slow at times but i still enjoy it! i play with keyboard which is really hard! considering i usually play with a controller! I scored a few crackers with Ljunberg.Pires crossed it in and the way he jumped and headered it in looked great!

I scored one with Pires using the R2 shoot thing! looked great aswell! and just about 20 minutes ago i scored a long range shot with Lampard which also looked great! Im really impressed with it :D looking forward to getting the full version on the ps2!

heres a pic of the lampard goal! Note again my graphics card is shit,it doesnt show the sponsors!

I don't know where to start but I can try by stealing a title from another football game: THIS IS FOOTBALL!!! And maybe expand it a little: THIS IS REAL FOOTBALL!!!

Oh my God this game is the best PES-game ever and that's because of one thing: Realism!

- It's not easy to make a pass anymore. Player skills and balance really matters!

- It's not easy to challenge a player and in the same time avoid a freekick. But a trick is to get close to him and use R2 to try and push him a bit. Tried that a few times and the referee didn't blow the whistle. Guess the trick is to time the tackle.

- Sliding tackles - wow! If you time them right they are more effective than ever.

- Keepers: Much better IMO. I've had a few succesfull through balls where the keeper beat me to the ball and also they've made some good saves.
And to add more about keepers - you can't just defend corners by using the :triangle: anymore - nice!

- Long passes seem much better and more controllable than ever.

- High through passes ( :L1: + :triangle: ) don't seem to have backspin. The passes seem to very hard so maybe it's only effectfull on the wings? Haven't been able to time them in the middle - the ball just goes to the keeper.

- Crossing. Very different than PES4. Hopefully I can get a hang of it, but it seems like you have more control over where the ball is going. Can I make a high pass to the nearest post? Not now - but I'll learn how to do the trick!

- The ball. Cool how it bounces round the field. This is not a golf green - it's a football stadium! Great!

- Shooting. Big improvement! I'll upload my first goal when I get home, but for one of the first times I could curl the shot! Not much, but enough to beat Casillas :D

All in all a fantastic game. And a hard game to master and get used to. Just as it was the case for me with PES, PES2 and PES3. PES4 was (and is) too easy IMO.

Can't wait to the game comes out - hopefully they push it forward so the date isn't so far away as the 28th of October!! :D

i have 2 say i loved pes 4,big time like all of u, but i also have 2 say i think pes 5 is the absolute greatness i had hoped 4. Im playin it on pc,but had pes 4 on xbox,so im using the bloody keys as i have no pad.But i have sort of got the hang of the keys.

The realism is SURELY WHAT WEVE ALL ALWAYS WANTED???????????????
A REALISTIC FOOTY GAME,and we finaly have one,ive only scored 2 goals as it is so hard on keys, one a beckham freekick and the other a goal mouth scramble. Some of the animations are superb, the long shots are amazin i.e the lampard shot above.
Keepers are much better
Ref is better at playin advantage
dribbling is better

What more can u want???
Well done konami

P.S y worry bout transfers being a lil wrong coz we can change em

omg , I just noticed a new thing in the game.
While the game is going , the player shirts are falling out of the shorts. In the start of the game , the players shirts a tugged , and in the end on some of the players shirts are un-tugged. That is such a nice little thing , that make this game perfect :D

Not sure if this has been menstioned but if you press "D" when selecting the kits, you can change the shorts and socks of both teams. Good when its Valencia vs Real Madrid.

The beautiful game
Yes what a great game, even works on a shit pc like mine :)

Just a few thoughts...

Keepers are really improved imo

As casillas shows.

The classy fouls are still in the game.

And the shooting is really realistic aswell, as zidane shows. The curl you can get on the ball is great.
