...some impressions & comparisons between WE9 & PES5...
my m8 and I have been playing the unofficial PES5 release (the one with no netplay) for a day or so...
PES5 movie intro is totally different to WE9 (except for the ending, last 3 or 4s).
Menu's, backdrop etc.. look the same - Lampard, Drogba & Henry appear i
n main menu (but both Chelsea's players are wearing 04/05 kits, whilst Henry has Arsenal's 05/06).

WE9 - Not all kits are 05/06 for example Barcelona's
PES5 - Official Kits 05/06 & emblems for ALL licenced teams;
well we've looked at all teams, we think that...
La Liga (spainish league), Serie A (italian league) and Eredivisie (dutch league)
aswell as Chelsea, Arsenal, Celtic, Rangers, Dynamo Kiev, FC Porto, Galatasaray,
Rosenborg and maybe some other teams have 05/06 kits.
..Gameplay (solo - playing level @ 4 & 5 star) with mod'd PAL PS2...
WE9 - Game speed ok but may be slow - sometimes cpu players (both yours
& opposition) seem to 'staticly fly' not run across the pitch, player movement
with ball may be slow at times especially when trying to dribble.
PES5 - Game speed is wooOOSH, player movement brilliant both in PAL & NTSC modes.
-> when crossing ball (pressing O) from wing into area...
WE9 - you have to manually guide player/ball the way pass should
be aimed/crossed at, if not you'll see how your player kicks the ball out of play.
PES5 - auto cross to penalty area or nearest team player in area.
The same happens when doing a through-pass (pressing Triangle),
WE9 manual/guided pass - PES5 semi/auto pass.
-> As mentioned in previous posts; keepers seem to be sharper and better
at what they do... different movement, saves & awareness is well improved.
-> Fouls seem to be handled better, eg. had advantage given, and after gameplay,
opposition player was booked.
The way players are tackled vary to WE8LE, don't see anychanges
between WE9/PES5.
In general I think that I like PES5 a bit more than WE9.
Anyway going to continue playing before I write a book.

and I have play for a few matchs and I found that if you play in four or five stars, you will find harder to pass through the defender.
but the shoot was very powerful.
The main menu is cool!
all the licence club teams are updated with the new kits for 05/06
only some players transfer are not updated
For example Milan Baros still in Liverpool ,Tiago still in chelsea and Portillo still in R.Madrid.

The freekick in PES 5 are very power ful
at 1st you press up and press shoot and press triangle button.
the ball will always go to top corner of the net and sure 99% the keeper failed to catch the ball

Dont know where u all get these beta versions from send me one hehe, just wanna know afew things!! is on the edit mode can u select kits with stripes! on pes4 there wasnt striped shirts! wot new skills can u do! i know the flip flap is availible! wot about match intros! do they still come from the tunnel and stand there in a line! and is there real crowd chants!!

P.s After playing WE9 does anyone know if the tackles have got better on PES5 for example you press X to but a foot in and 90% of the time it's a foul. apart from this th game play is realy cool cant wait till the 21st of October.

ok here's my 1st impressions of pes5. u turn the game on and u get that buzz of excitement the tune starts playing on the intro and u wanna make sure u got everything u need for a few solid hours of gameplay u wanna take in everything that has got 2 offer. in that i mean doritos and a 12 pack or bud's.
i messed around at 1st went into edit mode checked a few faces wanted 2 check that the celtic players looked nothing like there real selves cos they never do well mab nakamura being the exception. and this is where i feel fifa excells in comparison 2 pro evo is player realism i mean am not gonna blow smoke up fifa's arse all am saying is they put real effort in when creating players from each and every team not just the biggys ie (inter man u chelsea)
ok so back 2 menu i see theres no nippon challenge there any more not that anyones missing anything terrys flashing up on screen i thought nice touch followed by henry and then drogba i listen 2 the menu music and its the same as we9 kinaa quirky japanese dance or summat that u end up humming along 2 after a while lol so here we go 1st game celtic vrs rangers <------(which every old firm fan does i think)
i was playing on 3 star which is tough 2 begin with on the new pro evo i drew 1-1
magic scoring my goal and prso scoring rangers goal. game went all the way through extra time with me struggling 2 create anything<-----u will all have this problem at sum point 1st thing i took in from my 1st game which i noticed is the game was more fluent it dont get stopped for petty fouls quite as much as we9 did .
so here i am 2 hrs into it and seeing no way of turning it off for at least another 4-5 hours my buzzer goes and i think strongly about even moving 2 awnser it but in the end i do and its my m8 paul he walks in and sees what am playing taking his jacket off straight away GIMMI A GAME reaching for the other controller but me being selfish dont wanna i wanna have at least a few days head start but i let him gimmi a game quickly saving my konami cup that i was blitzzing with barcelona<--(eto and larsson getting right into the mix)
so i let him on and wots the 1st thing he says i dont like this its 2 different its 2 hard i say 2 him why dont u go 2 your house and play pro 4 then lol and he says no he says he likes it but its 2 hard 2 skin players and score solo goals i say 2 him how often in proper football does one player skin 5 people then chip the keeper he says not often and i say thats wot i mean in pro 5 it is possible 2 score these goals but not the same % as u did on pro 4
so were cruising now and we both have option files am currently beating him 7-5 with 2 draws he now says he cany go bck 2 the old game and cant wait for it 2 be released all in all its very much like we9 mab slightly faster and refs are a bit better
and of celtic got there proper strips now thank god there may be other things different but i have yet 2 notice them if i do i i wont be slow in letting u all know

I think I'll be the first to say look out for Michael Owen and his jumping back-headers.
A normal cross comes in and he jumps and then spins in mid-air to try to head it in with the back of his head. Friend of mine scored one like this and Owen keeps trying for them for some strange reason.

PLayed it for the first time today and at least 3 of my players ran into the ref, did a nice little spin and landed on their ass! quite funny at first.......
Anyway the game is well worth buying, started my master league with custom team (Runcorn FC Halton) and gathered all my fave players from over the world to start in div 2!! Can't wait for the patch tho - i hate not having licensed kits for Most teams!
