Group 4 results:
MUNICH (brova) 0-0 PSG (CPU)

This was a game of two halves, PSG dominated the 1st half, Munich dominated the second. A draw was a fair result although either side could have scored.

PARMA (CPU) 2-0 RANGERS (col_gers)
Goalscorer(s): Adriano 46, Morfeo 65

Parma were in control throughout this match and took the lead early into the second half when Adriano got on the end of a through ball and found the back of the net. On 65 mins Parma were awarded a penalty and Morfeo made no mistake from the spot. Morfeo very nearly made it 3-0 late on when he smashed an effort against the crossbar. A deserved win for Parma.

I mean the teams that were available are no longer available. Parma, PSG, PSV, Sociedad and Celta Vigo will be CPU controlled.

Group 5 results:
INTER ('101st') 0-1 DERPORTIVO (Wainy)
Goalscorer(s): Tristan 77
Bookings: Vieri (Red)

This turned out to be a double blow for Inter, not only did they lose, but will miss Vieri for the next match through suspension. Vieri was sent off on 48mins for a crunching tackle. From this stage onwards, Deportivo piled on the pressure and scored on 77 mins through a Diego Tristan header.

LIVERPOOL (Craig David) 1-1 ARSENAL (Picture Perfect)
Goalscorer(s): Kewell 11, Henry 68
Bookings: Diouf (Yellow), Hyypia (Yellow)

Harry Kewell got Liverpool off to the perfect start after 11 minutes, a great long range drive. Arsenal levelled the score on 68 mins when Henry pounced on Pires’ saved shot. Liverpool slightly shaded the game and created the better chances but a draw was probably a fair result.

Group 6 results:
REAL SOCIEDAD (CPU) 0-1 CELTA VIGO (CPU)
Goalscorer(s): Edu 16

This was a pretty even game, but Celta came away with the win. The goal came on 16 mins when Edu fired hard and low into the corner of the net.

LAZIO (rebusrahman) 0-1 PSV (CPU)
Goalscorer(s): Kezman 71
Bookings: Hofland (Yellow)

Lazio never really threatened in this game and PSV deserved their win. Peruzzi made good saves from Kezman in the first half and Buffel in the second before Kezman scored what turned out to be the winning goal. Kezman finished off a wonderful passing move when he was on hand to smash home Venegoor’s saved effort. Simone Inzaghi came close for Lazio late on but it ended 1-0 to PSV.

CHELSEA (LFC4EVA) 1-1 ROMA (sam erasa)
Goalscorers: Mutu 90, Cassano 24

Roma took the lead on 24 mins when Cassano hit a shot from outside the box which found the back of the net. Chelsea's best chance of the game fell to Carlton Cole in the 83rd minute when he hit a weak shot straight at the keeper from close range. However, Chelsea did get an equaliser and a late one at that. Mutu dispatched his free kick into the back of the net in stoppage time. An even game and Chelsea deserved to get the goal on reflection.

AC MILAN (Zygalski) 0-0 VALENCIA (CPU)
Bookings: Carboni (Yellow)

Milan dominated this match and really should have scored, they had the chances. Valencia gave Milan a scare on 14 mins but Dida managed to come out on top in a one-on-one situation. Milan had many chances and almost scored through Shevchenko but his powerful long range effort was well saved on 57 mins. Milan should be on 4 points now, instead they find themselves on 2. They will need to beat Roma otherwise we may have a shock exit on our hands!

Just to clear up some confusion, my earlier post where I quoted Paul actually has some of my own text to follow but, mysteriously, it's dissapeared now. It was at the same time when the site was having server problems, so that was probably the case.

A draw against 'Pool! Hope that's not the case on Saturday. ;)

Group 2 results:
REAL MADRID (Paul B) 1-1 FEYENOORD (Del Pino)
Goalscorers: Figo 6, Kuijt 36
Bookings: Song Jong Kook (Yellow), Kuijt (Yellow)

Madrid find themselves on just 1 point going into the final group game after a match which they really should have won. Figo gave Madrid the lead on 6 mins with a 15 yard drive. Kuijt levelled things up on 36 mins when he rounded Casillas. Madrid had many chances from then onwards but failed to take them.

MAN UTD (jag87) 4-1 KIEV (Mellows)
Goalscorers: Ronaldo 7, 61, 90, Solksjaer 68, Melashchenko 54

Man Utd cruised to victory and booked their place in the next round after an impressive display. Ronaldo scored a stunner after just 7 minutes from outside the box. In the 54th minute Melashchenko bagged his third goal of the tournament with a real blaster. Ronaldo finished off a great move on 61 mins before Solskjaer made it 3-1 with an acrobatic finish after RVN's shot was saved. Ronaldo grabbed his hatrick in injury time, sliding the ball home from close range.
