It looks like a must-buy for me. Why are so many good games coming out in these first couple of months of the year????

I've still got to play Assassins Creed II all the way through, not sure how I'm going to make the time for them all.

Are you going to get the PS Move to play Killzone 3, Sminky? :naughty:

I think I might get it - Killzone 3, not the PS Move - as it seems like my type of game, even though I'll inevitably be shit at it.

Nah, not unless it radically makes it more enjoyable to play.

I was utter shite at Killzone2 when I first got it, took me months to get my kills in advance of my deaths - I learnt a couple of the maps changed from running around like a nutcase to using ambush tactics.

I expect the same learning curve on Killzone3 to be honest. Weapon handling is different on this and the bullet physics feel different as well.

My 360 has taken my gaming to only on one machine now, it feels so weird to hold a PS controller...

I'm tempted to get Move for Dead Space: Extraction. The obvious bonus being that I can use it with Killzone, and LBP 2.

Anyway, in other news. The previously exclusive xbox360 Fallout:NV DLC, will now be released on ps3 on Feb 22nd, the next 3 DLCs after that, are planned to be released simultaneously.

The games being released that are move compatible sure make it tempting. With the Kinect and the Wii, the games seem rather tedious and aimed at girls/young kids, whereas the PS Move seems to have proper games like LBP2, Killzone 3, Dead Space: Extraction, NBA 2K11 etc. For all I know the controller could be a load of shit but with a decent looking catalogue of games - as I said before - it's tempting.

To be fair, DS: Extraction IS a Wii port. It's fun though. But tough with the standard ps3 controller.

The controller is not a load of shit Phats, I have one and it's untold amounts better than using a Wii.

The lack of games let it down, although most the games it does have are great. Just a tad on the expensive side (still mostly at £30, showing no reduction in price since they were first released).

Do you have the other thing too? The stick thing with the d-pad on it... whatever it's called. Or do you just use the regular controller?

Yeah I got both. Didn't see the point in having one without the other really. You need the d-pad dildo for controlling the player in game anyway, so it's just as useful as the following;

You mean the pink tipped dildo?

Yes that

Although it can be any number of colours ;)

My brother's white PS3 has YLOD.

May 2008 - February 2011.

It was in heavy usage from 2008 up to 2009. Then my brother stopped playing PS3 games and moved on to PC gaming. It was rarely used then, until 2 weeks ago, when I decided that his PS3 would be used to watch movies. I was watching a movie, luckily from my hard drive, when it made the dreaded beep-beep-beep, and turned itself off.

There was no warning signs, whatsoever. Usually, from what I've read, the PS3 would turn itself off for a few times, before the inevitable YLOD, but I don't know why this PS3 didn't do so.

I'm sure that my PS3 will be up next. I bought mine in April 2008, but I use it more often than his.

I got mine in December 08, an 80gb one.... so I can't imagine it having too long left. Having said that, my brother got his quite a while before mine and it's still running strong. Though, he does only play Fifa on it, maybe that's a factor.

What games are you playing with the move? I bought the sarter pack and the sports one seems a little but kiddie, not as much as the wii though, better than that as you said.

I've only really played the demo ones, although I borrowed 'The Shoot' off my mate and it's so fucking good.

I will be purchasing but it needs to drop in price man! I already forked out £50+ or whatever amount I paid for the controllers!

Anyone want to tell me what games I should buy for the PS3? I'm getting back into gaming at the mo, but don't know what good games i've missed out on really.

Anything is fair game as long as it isn't similar to the following:

Call of Duty Series / Resistance / Killzone (basically no generic brown and grey shooters)
Racing / Driving Simulation
Fighting
Plastic Musical Instrument Bollocks

I'm looking at picking up Heavy Rain, Mirrors Edge and Bioshock 2 over the coming weeks, but after that I'm out of ideas.

How about something like Enslaved? I'm not usually a big fan of that type of game but I enjoyed Enslaved to an extent. I haven't played much of Splatterhouse yet but that seems like it could be good fun.
