Possibilities on taking action against Konami! PRO EVO 2008!

What we can do as a consumer is simply straight forward.

1. Report this to the correct bodies.
2. Report this to Watch Dog. (if we do this, the impact of Konami as a brand name will be in jeopardy, as we (consumers) will lose faith on their market.
3. Ask for a refund.
4. Ask for a refund and still keep the game (worth a try)

If anyone wants to take action here’s the top suggestions, personally, I reckon watch dog needs to take action.

Personally if this goes live on air….. Who knows what kinda impact it will have on the company! Maybe they wont be a pro evo 2009!.

Please post your views.

Below is the letter now sent to watch dog! Please either copy and paste this or write your review. Link is this - http://www.bbc.co.uk/consumer/tv_and_radio/watchdog/index.shtml

The problem with this game is straight forward. We as consumers have waited for this game for a long period of time. Hence I bought my PS3 purely for the release of this game. Further to my disappointment I/we as players have found the game as a awful game and it should have not been released. Problems with the game are as follows.

1. Interference with game (lag problems online and offline) makes it unplayable at times. Konami response to this is. Buy a HD TV. Install the game on your hard drive and turn off the commentary and stadium effects. It does reduce it but we paid for a full game with full effects not half the game!
2. Because of the lag, they have halved the price within 2 months of release. (This is not right for those consumers who paid for this at full price of £50.)
3. For a further reading into this game please visit http://www.pesgaming.com/blog/

We would much appreciate you look into this matter and suggest anything we can do or maybe you can do?

Also attached is a link released by the makers

why do you want to kill off konami? That's utterly ridiculous. They know the game is bad. They will fix it... That is unless you shut them down

With PES's strength in the gaming community, people will still by a PES 2009 (is one appears next year, PES 2010 if it doesn't) regardless of this years below par effort.

How many gamers even watch watchdog?

I think the main issue Kev is that people have paid up to 50 quid for a game less than 30 days ago, and now already it is half price.

I think some people expect too much, yeah of course new features and advanced editing would be brilliant but the gameplay is still brilliant.

Personally I love the game, yeah it's disappointing since it's on next gen we all expected a bit more, but to even think about complaining to this level is ridiculous.

I think some people may need a bit of perspective on it, now don't get me wrong, Pro Evo is still Pro Evo and I absolutely love it, but at the end of the day it's only a fucking game. If you're that pissed off, fair enough, play Fifa or any other shitty football game, but for fuck sake, stop trying to get everyone to take part in stupid boycotts.

At least this should be a wake up call to Konami and they have realised that the game they released was sh1t so you can expect a great game next year because if they do the same next year and release a sh1t game then it will be Konami that suffers so all the bad publicity they have been receiving for PES 2008 should force them into making a very good PES 2009!

I feel sorry for the people who paid 50 quid for the game!

guys honestly listen! don't you feel like being a mug, u paid £50 for a game! u only bought the game because it was with PS3 and yet i waited 4 that game to only be dissapointed with its play. You guys wouldn't buy a TV if their was no picture! why do we as consumers have to play a game thats half decent!

To be honest! i've got all the pro games from day one! Truthly i aint happy with this product! Now if it DOES go on air! imagine those people who want this game for xmas imagine the impact of it all... no1 will buy the game!

Besides this is their mistake and they know it! but we the one's who going to buy it next year... so they better fix it!

I agree with you sunny S, the only way to make these people give a shit is to expose 'em to watchdog otherwise they will just release another shitty game next year, and keep on raking in millions.
Those people that say the gameplay is good are the 10-16 year olds that just wanna dribble from one end of the field to the other without possession football, and their parents pay for the game anyway so what do they care.
If it kills of Konami, then so be it!!

i fully agree with you mate, i just see it as konami are like yeah so what it had major problems but people will buy it anyway and just complain a bit but in time they will learn to live with it, personally i think its a disgrace they have made this half arsed attempt at a game on ALL consoles.

i have ps2 version and theres no difference at all from pes6 so i feel like ive been robbed of £30, if they said look theres no difference other than updated players so its £15 i would have still bought it no gripes but £30 for a few transfers i could have done myself?

my mate has ps3 and i played it online and it was torture, i got beat but if it hadnt had the problems i may have got a draw coz some of the things going on were mind boggleing and really disadvantaged me

i believe a cock up of this degree deserves some explaining, look at this as any other situation, mcclaren = fucks up big time for england, loses millions of £ not getting to euro, sacked within 24 hours
so why dont konami do the same? seabass really fucks up pes2008, even worse than 5 and 6, games are selling at half price which i would presume results in losses for konami, he should go, bring somebody in with new ideas.

not only that it disgusts me after the game isnt a month old and we get "well pes2009 will be back to the drawing boards" so they knew it was shit already?

to be honest i expect to see this! Konami.. take all their products off.. those who have the game will get a free copy of pro evo 2009 or if they fix the bug within a month of the game taken of the shelves.. we should get the chance to exchange it...

soo guys my email was the very first post! so copy and paste it to watchdog! the link is also provided their!

Lets do it for all the gamers right!

Goldbergio i see were you're coming from m8. I bought the ps2 version for £20. It was not drastically different, but did you expect it to be? I really enjoy the new pro evo, they've tweaked a few things here and there but really nothing drastic. This whole thing about shutting down Konami just isn't right. I've not played the next gen pro evo so i can't really sypathise with those people. But i have my PES2008 with my option file an i love it.
