Yeah, I had thought about having your best highlights playing on the menu screen. That would be a cool feature. Wonder if the PS3 will be powerful enough to run such a thing smoothly.chrisius said:Shadows of clouds moving on the pitch, now that would be graphically kool. The part where you say changing weather conditions, you can look forward to that in PES6 because that is one of its new featuresOh, and the menu screens. They should be customizable actually, now there's a thought. So you could put your own photos or videos straming in the background. For example, have photos of Sheffield United players on a slide show instad of drogba, henry and terry, or better still, have a video of your saved highlights streaming in the background. Ye, u think? Sounds good to me

One of them replied, "...maybe the grasshopers on the pitch should be visible also!...". Moving clouds is a great idea for a powerful machine but who would notice them after 5 games?
See what happens with animations: after you 've played the game for a month or so (to say the most) do you still take a minute to watch the animation each time a foul is awarded or do you push Start right away?
I love animations, little touches and attention to detail. However, it seems that Konami don' t wish to invest on his kind of stuff, and who can blame them? Even FIFA with the lavish looks don't pay attention to these details. They hardly show players during a substitution.
I would expect more practical improvements addressing to rational game players:
- I 'd like to see the chip shot fixed (it used to be great now it's unpredictable).
- I 'd like to see a button sending players into space (off the ball). More like KCET's ISS. You would press the Through Ball button and a player would start running. The ball would not leave your foot until you released it. That was a great (and lasting) touch.
- I 'd like to see the game ease up in times. Really, no team can chase you for 90 mins. You need to be able to pass the ball a few times before the half way line with no pressing towards the end of the game.
I cannot understand why they would withdraw nice ideas:
- In earlier versions of the game if you were 4-0 down and scored a goal your players would run back heads down. Now you get one back and they celebrate as if it were a WC late winner..
- Shooting in PES has traditionally been immaculate. In PES 4 it was abysmal for some reason, then it was fixed again.
Konami never really offered an atmosphere in the PES series. Commentary is for laughs (after all those years). In past versions the only thing moving in a crowded stadium were the 22 players. The referee was added 2 or 3 years ago. We see linesmen, but only in cut scenes!
The gameplay is out of reach and that's why we like and prefer PES. But imo it's been quite stable for some time now. It may be that, if they give you the perfect game now, why would you bother pay the 40 quid next year again?.. For the moving clouds?
So I guess chrisius' (and other posted) ideas, which I personally endorse, are probably just daydreaming.
I say, let them perfect the gameplay, but REALLY perfect it, and then expect nice little details like ball boys or warming up subs.
Then again, I hope I 'm wrong.
Well tbh seeming as though you cant get 45 min halves on PES, if the clock keeps moving at a fast pace (say you are playing a 5 min match) and you were losing the game, if the ball went out in the dying seconds, the clock would probably run out of time seeming as it moves a lightning speed on 5 mins. And that would annoy you, but I suppose it is realistic.Ko_nami said:Is it asking too much to want a constant moving match clock?
I can't understand how no one's noticed that the clock stops everytime the ball goes out of play - and has done since the very early ISS games.
You can't call PES a footy simulation if the clock stops everytime the ball goes out of play. That's just plain unrealistic.
In my opinion, it needs to be fixed for the next-gen versions of PES.

I'd understand if you actually had a PS3 and compared to a 360 - then yes, you'd have a point - otherwsie you're statement just makes no sense whatsoever.
