BETTER PITCHES!!!

Most pitches are lush, green and smooth looking, not the dried out ones with crazy patterns you see in PES. For example, the pitches at this year's world cup were perfect looking, and it can't be too hard to get them looking just like that in Pro Evo.

How about changeable weather, for instance, on a windy but sunny day, have areas of light and shadow from clouds moving over the pitch. Or games played in sunshine and showers or thunderstorms. Also, in evening games, how about having the game start with the fading sunlight, and as the match progresses, it gets darker and the floodlights take over.

A total re-haul of the menu screens would be nice too.

Shadows of clouds moving on the pitch, now that would be graphically kool. The part where you say changing weather conditions, you can look forward to that in PES6 because that is one of its new features :) Oh, and the menu screens. They should be customizable actually, now there's a thought. So you could put your own photos or videos straming in the background. For example, have photos of Sheffield United players on a slide show instad of drogba, henry and terry, or better still, have a video of your saved highlights streaming in the background. Ye, u think? Sounds good to me :)

Yeah, I had thought about having your best highlights playing on the menu screen. That would be a cool feature. Wonder if the PS3 will be powerful enough to run such a thing smoothly.

I like to see more realistic transfers and realistic ratings. Eg.If a player is scoring goals (irrespective of whether he is a star) offers should be piling in. Similarly a steady defender/keeper with good ratings consistently should also get good offers. Star player (classified as such based on his earning power) should ask for transfer and refuse to renew contract if he is benched consistently.

Also I like to see players/keeper stretching to reach the ball in a difficult situation and losing balance sometimes due to wrong timing. Or defender stretching to clear the ball in a near impossible situation and injuring himself as a result.

Finally the most important of all, I like to see more accident on the pitch (eg.keeper/player got kick on the face accidentally and down he goes clutching his head in agony(with blood on the face ,lips or a gushed eyebrow). Player sometimes come back with bandage on head( with a bit of blood stain for realism.

More than 5 years ago when the series was still called ISS, in a post I went on and on about nice ideas like chrisius has posted on this thread, only to be mocked by other members. One of them replied, "...maybe the grasshopers on the pitch should be visible also!...". Moving clouds is a great idea for a powerful machine but who would notice them after 5 games?

See what happens with animations: after you 've played the game for a month or so (to say the most) do you still take a minute to watch the animation each time a foul is awarded or do you push Start right away?

I love animations, little touches and attention to detail. However, it seems that Konami don' t wish to invest on his kind of stuff, and who can blame them? Even FIFA with the lavish looks don't pay attention to these details. They hardly show players during a substitution.

I would expect more practical improvements addressing to rational game players:

  • I 'd like to see the chip shot fixed (it used to be great now it's unpredictable).
  • I 'd like to see a button sending players into space (off the ball). More like KCET's ISS. You would press the Through Ball button and a player would start running. The ball would not leave your foot until you released it. That was a great (and lasting) touch.
  • I 'd like to see the game ease up in times. Really, no team can chase you for 90 mins. You need to be able to pass the ball a few times before the half way line with no pressing towards the end of the game.

I cannot understand why they would withdraw nice ideas:

  • In earlier versions of the game if you were 4-0 down and scored a goal your players would run back heads down. Now you get one back and they celebrate as if it were a WC late winner..
  • Shooting in PES has traditionally been immaculate. In PES 4 it was abysmal for some reason, then it was fixed again.

Konami never really offered an atmosphere in the PES series. Commentary is for laughs (after all those years). In past versions the only thing moving in a crowded stadium were the 22 players. The referee was added 2 or 3 years ago. We see linesmen, but only in cut scenes!

The gameplay is out of reach and that's why we like and prefer PES. But imo it's been quite stable for some time now. It may be that, if they give you the perfect game now, why would you bother pay the 40 quid next year again?.. For the moving clouds?

So I guess chrisius' (and other posted) ideas, which I personally endorse, are probably just daydreaming.

I say, let them perfect the gameplay, but REALLY perfect it, and then expect nice little details like ball boys or warming up subs.

Then again, I hope I 'm wrong.

Add managers in masters league. You know, if you had for example Arsene Wenger your every players team work and defence would increase or something like that. And you could buy doctors and stuff to decrease the chance of getting too bad injuries. The more expencive doctor the better he would be. .. at least if your scouts had done a good job finding them ;)

This is a thread for daydreamers. We know all of these ideas wont go into 1 game so nothing can be improved anymore. That would be stupid. And we know gameplay and graphics will always be improving as standard. But you know if you see and hear on a live match on Tv was identical to PES, you'd love it. Good post though, i gotta admit.

I just remembered a wish of mine,I had forgot:

I want 45 minutes half(its ridiculous to call it a "simulation" when you cant simulate the real game),30 max is stupid. From this comes to mind to make the game non stop flowing(you got a throw in and no black screen, but an animation with player going for the ball, while time is still running. If you press start, black screen and + 1,2 minutes or so,depending on the action).
The biggest porblem is they need to REALLY improve the defence to prevent 25-12 score or something like that and the greatest battle should in midfield, not running from one side to the other in 5 seconds. Not to mention the keepers,in real match a keeper can catch 25 hard shots to save his team, but in PES one time he saves and the other...

Many people asked for that already and its possible on next gen,360 degrees movement(8 way movement feels like nintendo 8-bit soccer game).Thats for now,if I got something else I will post...

Is it asking too much to want a constant moving match clock?

I can't understand how no one's noticed that the clock stops everytime the ball goes out of play - and has done since the very early ISS games.

You can't call PES a footy simulation if the clock stops everytime the ball goes out of play. That's just plain unrealistic.

In my opinion, it needs to be fixed for the next-gen versions of PES.

Well tbh seeming as though you cant get 45 min halves on PES, if the clock keeps moving at a fast pace (say you are playing a 5 min match) and you were losing the game, if the ball went out in the dying seconds, the clock would probably run out of time seeming as it moves a lightning speed on 5 mins. And that would annoy you, but I suppose it is realistic.

Also someone mentioned above that pitches should be lush and green, maybe at the start of the ml, but as the season progresses, depending on how many games are played, maybe the grass greenyness and lushness should detiriorate.

Actually, I would prefer a lightning-fast running match clock.

It would make the whole match atmosphere more realistic in my opinion.

I don't get how the whistle could be blown as soon as the ball goes out of play once you've hit the 90 minute mark. Doesn't WE10 already have a stoppage time feature enabled?

As far as I know, the final whistle only blows after a sufficient amount of stoppages has been added. It would work in exactly the same fashion for a constantly running, lightning-fast match clock.

I reckon I could get 20+ goals in 45 minute halfs, sometimes I almost smash double figures in 5 minute halfs (10 minute matches), winning 7-1 or sumtin.

You talk some utter crap. I prefer the PS3 to the 360 anyday. But its not 'that' much better. Xbox is better than PS2 and PES5 differences are pretty minor between the systems. Stop complaining, everything that gets made starts as an idea.

I'm just wondering how you can prefer something that is not even manufactured yet to something that is available with some truly kick arse titles? I'd understand if you actually had a PS3 and compared to a 360 - then yes, you'd have a point - otherwsie you're statement just makes no sense whatsoever.

Do you know the definition of preference?
