the game is atrotious! its worse than 08 and 09, its complete utter garbage!

Worse than 08 and 09? Call pes 2010 BAD and unplayable but never worse than 09 and 08 because those games were the garbage. I hate it when someone says that because they just forgot their flaws and only remember pes 2010's flaws. But anyway it's your opinion.

been playing it today, and the players can't do the simpleist of things, like pass a simple ball inside, this is with the likes of lampard and deco, not the crappy teams and even then it takes about half an hour to do it!

the beauty of past evo games was you could wait till the very last second to pass while your opponent is closing you down leaving him out of position, this has complety gone. i've had to change the way i play and my formations to suit this mess of a game and i need to press pass earlier, why should i?its not realistic! i understand about body shape and stuff, but when a player in real life wants to pass he'll do it no matter what postition he's in.this is where evo 5 got it right.

The button delay was perfect in pes 5. I know this version (pes 2010) has that problem but it's not something that makes it unplayable unless it's online because it's something you can get used to .

ive been leaking alot of goals so i positioned my wingbacks to a more central position and played cbs instead yet they are still running out of positons up and down the wing? wtf? where have the arrows gone inpostioning? the defence/attack arrow where has this went?

Well I agree on this but again, in reality they do this quite often. Still in pes 2010 it's not realistic enough. But come on. In reality every player looses his position at times.

throwins, why cant i move the player receiving the ball, the invisable walls away, but it defeats the purpose if you cant move the recieving player, its really easy to understand, why did konami not think of this?

There's no invisible walls. That's on pes 09. But it would be a nice addition if you could move the player receiving the ball.

when my opponent is taking a goal kick, why is my closest player nearer the halfway line? everyone knows that in the past gamers will pass straight from a goal kick,
I only remember this feature on pes 2008 PS2 only.

barca/madrid noobs online, why cant i filter certain teams from my room? really don't see how this can be to difficult considering the amount of stuff they've took out the game.online is shocking, completly out of date, "yeah were going back to the sucsessfull evo 6 online way" FUCKING 4 YEARS AGO THAT WAS!!

Barca and Madrid noobs are like Rifle campers in Modern warfare 2. The company can't do a thing about them.
But I fully agree that Konami needs to fix online. It's not good.

on 09 there was hundreds online in thw uk lobbys, now your lucky if there is 200.
That's not because pes 09 has better online (because it was worse) but because people are fed up of the connection issues from 08 up to now.

Not really, I think there's quite a difference. I camp a lot in MW2 because I suck, but someone half decent can take a camper down (even a good camper). The Real and Barca players, not much you can do against a good player. They should make a filter, like they do on Fifa. They guy with the home team gets to decide if he only wants teams of a similar level.

So if he picks Benfica, you have to choose a team of similar ability like Benfica or Roma.

As it is, 8 out of 10 games you play are either Barca, Real or Brazil. Even if you beat these teams which I often do a lot, it just makes the game online become boring.

thanks shaun for your opinions i understand people like the game, but i think im one of a majority of players who have bought the game who thinks its very poor.

now i must say the game has improved on graphics and music, so with the graphics at such a high level now (which i may say is maybe ahead or on schedule of time). konami should really be taking a year of making this game unbeleivable, amazing, downright fucking brilliant on the gameplay side of things, next time definetly should be the one.

Filters would be the best option because as I said, online needs to be fixed.
And I know that everyone can take a camper down but let's face it. The campers (with rifle grenades and assualt rifles) will always get some kills even if they suck. ;)

I totally agree! People often have a biased vision of the past...they idealize a lot. 08 and 09 were really really bad, especially 08, it was just HORRIBLE!...I'm still mad over Konami for releasing such crap (just to have a next gen version...way crappier than the ps2 version) and over myself for finally buying it (after resisting 4 month). I must admit, I'm just a pathetic football junkie but I'm still in rage with Konami for taking advantage of my addiction to football. Imo, PES 2010 is by far the best football simulation on next gen machines (and it's a pain in the ass to say it cause there are still a lot of flaws in the game). At least, my football heart has SOME fun with it...and that's what counts, ain't it? Having fun with the game more than not...for me it's the case. Those for whom it is not, they might boycott it and teach Konami a lesson. ;)

I TOTALLY AGREE.

Pro evo calls itself a simulation, not a arcade game but the AI bends the physics (Speed, skills, strength) to suit itself.

I would simply advise NOT to play this game unless its online or against a friend.

My only problem is my connections not good enough to play online and my housemates dont play pro.

If you talk about Top Player, then yes, the AI cheats... alot.
On professional however, it's not nearly the same game when it comes to AI cheating, and after applying the tactics sliders I mentioned or something similar the AI will cheat even less because it manages to achieve decent play without cheating. The AI scripting only kicks in if the AI is totally overrun by you and are unable to create chances / goals. With modified team sliders and a few "assisted settings" the AI is quite capable of giving you a decent challenge, even at "Professional" level and feels more like a simulation than ever before.

NOTE: The only part of PES and FIFA that will ever be a simulation is "one player only" modes like BAL or Be a pro. In the other modes there is one brain (you) controlling the whole team and will already there be outside the "Simulation" genre.

95% of the time I spend playing PES is BAL however, so this part is very important to me, good AI teammates and opponents is a must to enjoy this mode.

^That's totally not true. Mention me where pes 09 beats pes 10? Because to my knowledge, nowhere except for response times.

Have to say I pretty much agree with you.

Have mentioned this point before - konami should hire some ex footballer who can talk the developers through how football should be played and what makes the game real!

I don't know the ethnicity of the Konami development team, but if it lacks a European influence, they should probably get more European developers involved.

This game is fucking wank.

I'm not playing it anymore. I tried to like it after my initial disgust but I just can't be bothered with the frustration of it.

Keepers are shit

can't dribble worth a fuck because opposition defenders only need to brush against you and you lose the ball even if you do a good turn of pace or direction (mostly impossible unless you see into the future because the response is so shit) and they're nowhere near the ball

First touch of a dyspraxic rapist.

you press pass or shoot and it just refuses for about 2 mins which is convenient because the computer is given an even better opportunity to 'tackle' (nonsense cheating)

Also - just the typical cheating that's inherent in every pro evo where the computer miraculously scores and you can smell it coming.

BROKEN MECHANICS plain and simple.

It's true in some way, but I actually manage to do some nice dribbles from time to time. Just recently I dribbled 4 opposing players to score with a nice shot with a youth team player called Arhamed. And I think it was way too easy to dribble players in PES 2009. With Messi, it seemed like you just couldn't lose the ball.

ROFL Nice one!

That's true and you actually feel like letting the controller go and let the AI do whatever it wants to as you can't do anything about it anyhow.

Also - just the typical cheating that's inherent in every pro evo where the computer miraculously scores and you can smell it coming.

Amen.

I agree on a lot of points with a lot of people here, but still, I badly need a football game to play with and I think PES is still way better than FIFA...again...and I still get enough fun out of it to counterbalance the frustrations of all those glitches/flaws.

Well every game has it's problems and pes 2010 surly does have problems. Button lag is causing most of these issues. If that's fixed, it'll make the game play much better.

i have to say that pes10 is not as worse as pes08 but its defo worse than pes09.

Pes 2009 is by far the worst pes ever made and pes 2010 is definitely up there with the best imo. When you get a good team going in your ML the game is really good.

Amazing how people can interpret things so differently.

I've not noticed problems dribbling or the response times issue. Now I've moved the sliders to 2,3 or 4 depending on the team, it's a much better experience than default. Definitely renewed my faith in Pro Evo.

Amazing how people can interpret things so differently...

You have to realize the ones complaining are twelve year old girls, or at least the emotional equivalent of.

If they took the time to actually learn the game, and maybe made a few adjustments to each team's "Team Style" to iron out the wrinkles, then they'd see this game is in truth very good.

^ Thank you. Finally someone said it. A console game will ALWAYS have it's bugs. The thing is to play in a way so they don't get exposed that often. Or just get used to them, and adapt your playing style from it.

- But it sounds like someone is eagorly wanting a job as a programmer for Konami. Give it a go guys :)
