Replace J. Champion by someone who actually KNOWS soccer?

The commentry has been poor for FAR to long. I think now our expectations have also been raised along with the move to next gen gaming. In my opinion, I have never liked Martin Lawrenson and John Champion is average. For me there are more commentators they could get...although Im not advocating Jonathan Pierce for the job. I think the commentators voices dont suite the game (strange as that may sound).

I would prefer Martin Tyler and Andy Grey...simply because whenever there is a BIG England League game on tv (SKYSPORTS in the UK), i associate the occassion with the level of commentry i am going to get...and on tv those two are pretty good.
So i think the game needs good commentators. Sticking Martin Lawrenson is just wrong.

Think about it...commentators work as a duo. 1 guy is an announcer (calls names, gives general information) the other guy is more of an analyst (giving his views and also a bit of history). Now when you pair the PES commentators together, you mess everything up because Lawrensons analysis is shocking and Champion cannot keep up when the pace of the game is as rapid as it is.

They need to change those two because now the perception fans have with the games commentry is its shyt! And as soon we hear those guys voices in the next game...we will already expect rubbish.

So Konami please:
1. Change the commentry team
2. Change the commentry scripts. (Remove biased analysis which critisizes human players for not making substitutions)
3. Create an aspect of the code that actually analyses the game based on the stats. eg. if the persons possession stat is high after 15min, perhaps a comment from the second commentator on how the team is keeping the ball is appropriate.

This will help bring the games commentry closer to what is actually happening.

This is spot on the scripts are terrible in general and the commentary doesn't bear any relevance half the time. Lawerson and Champion are in for 2010 but the commentary is meant to be more game specific. I would love Tyldsley he'd be awesome and one other from ITV or Sky. Imagine Tyldsley in the CL final with only a minute to go and you equalise
NAME ON THE TROPHY!!!:w00t

I still think his commentary in the Man Utd v Bayern CL final in 99 was some of the best commentary I've heard.

if he was still alive I would have gone for Brian Moore as well because he was knowledgable abd spot on.

Imagine the last game of the season in the last minute of your master league game and you need to win you go through

THOMAS..... IT'S UP FOR GRABS NOW!!!!:w00t

In a nutshell the scripts and programming have to be a lot better

Champion is fine, its Lawrenson that ruins it. He's so cringeworthy in real life and in the game. Hopefully for PES 2011 he's gone

I agree, also the script needs to be a lot better with a lot more variation. How many times do we have to hear Lawrenson say "Thats another chance to equalise just gone begging....". Replace him with someone who can act the part as well as being a good co-commentator. Some direction while recording wouldn't go amiss either.

I agree that it isnt commentators fault for such stupid phrases....Lawrenson could be better used to give information on team instead of being quiet all the time and Champion should give overall opinion on game.

Its annoying when they critize about not making subs or when ball is not going towards goal they are pretty noisy and when you score it they are quiet like a lamb.

Listen to him because he could replace champion more than good:

I'm not really a fan of European commentators at all. Not only are they extremely boring, but they make the whole experience just sound so much worse!

If you really wanted to listen to some good narrators, I'd suggest looking up José Silvério, o Pai do Gol! But of course narration will never reach his level on video games, it's impossible.

I prefer Everaldo Marques (PT-BR) from ESPN or even Paulo Andrade.

Agree totally. Clive Tyldesley and And Townsend's commentary in FIFA WC2010 was the best I've ever heard in a football game. Konami should break the bank and get them for PES, but at the very least they need to make the commentary script more organic and freeflowing. EA I believe actually record their commentary tracks with Tyler and Smith watching a video of a match.

Champion and Beglin would be alright, if the commentary was allowed to flow. Sudden exclamations of "Knocks here!" or "NOW" do not make the game immersive in the way commentary should.

What the heck does "Knocks Here!" mean anyway? It's completely random.
