What does True Crime do that GTA does not do a million times better? What were the developers thinking.
"I know, lets release a game, and we know it won't be a world beater, but if we can find an untapped market it could be huge. Ok, so lets emulate in every way the most successful game in all of gaming history in every single way. And because we are appealing to the Tim Henman market of losers who don't want the best game but the sub par one, we better have some sort of gimmick. Like it's location, how about Urban OOOHHHH OOOOOOOHHHHHHH great idea, and it can be driving and shooing. Perfect. So if you are a loser who does not want the best, but the second place, silver medal then buy this game. It is Urban and no one has done that before"
Yes they have morons, get real there are so many urban games that don't want to challenge GTA but get that second place. True Crime didn't try to break away from the tired genre of urban shoot 'n' drives. Maybe if they set it in the 60s and cut the price to £20 and gave it some giant online multiplayer and a 12 rating, then it would give me reason to buy it. I can't directly compare GTA to True Crime, TC will never win. TC has to tempt me into buying it over all the other urban games and as a side game to GTA. The online would do this, it would have a bigger audience with the 12 rating. That way everyone who hears about GTA but are under 18 and don't have it bought for them will flock to buy TC.
