had a MX440 but was having probs with the slowdown so invested in a Radeon 9800 Pro. I still get the slowdown until I use the PES3 update and even then only at the lowest resolution. is this right. I've bloody wasted £200 on a card for nowt!!

I think not.

1)Did you uninstall all the Nvidia drivers? (From the MX440) Go to guru3D.com and get the Det killer that gets rid of the drivers COMPLETELY. (Registry entires etc.)
2)A format is always reccomended when installing a new Video card, this will be a contributing factor.
3)Did you get the latest drivers from ATIs website?

The combo of all these things is probably what is causeing the slowdowns. Unless of course you have plonked that 9800 pro into a 1.3Ghz Celeron system or something like that, then there is no hope I'm afraid. Plus for smooth sailing in PES3 I'd say 512Mb Of Decent RAM is a requirement.

Hi guys,
I've got an Athlon 1700 w/ radeon 9600xt, and nicely tuned system. I have no problems running all the new games (painkiller, farcry, ect) in 1024x740... And yet I have slowdown problems in PES3.

One issue might be USB game pads. I've tried using it without mine, but the keyboard just sucks. It does tend to get rid of the stutter though... I've also had this problem on other games. Unplug the gamepad, and everythis is smooth as silk.

Anyone else tried this, or know anything more about this? I wonder if there's some DX thing where it's polling gamepads or something like that durring play... Doesn't seem to be Konami's fault entirely, but the preformance of this game in general is really not so hot. Hopefully next time we'll get more than a half-baked console port...

PES3 is not coded that well on the PC at all. It is a resource hog, and I would say it is probably your processor that is letting you down atm. What settings do you run the game with (Res/Details etc).

Hmm, PES3 on the PC really loves a lot of processing power so it might be that processor too. The game is a real bitch.

Gudster ... you helped me a few weeks ago, and I'm back:

I had to reinstall PES3, and after I reinstalled, it ran like crap. So, I also then reinstalled the Bundesliga patch ... and it helped BIGTIME. Why would that be.

Still though, it runs slow -- just for a second now and then. Like a hiccup or stop or something. Then continues on its merry way. I've changed resolution levels, turned off hardware-based sound, installed the newest nvidia drivers ... what's happening? Any tricks left up that sleeve of yours?

Here are my specs:

Athlon 1500
512 megs RAM
GeForce4 Ti4400

Oh, Gudster, I forgot to add: Is that video card (GeForce4 Ti4400) any good? Is that the weak link here?

thanks again

Looking at the system, I would probably point to that 1500 TBH. PES3 loves a good system in every department (IE a top end processor, Graphics and oodles of ram). Now I have a mate who runs it on his Ti4600 and P4 2.8Ghz and it is smooth as (with that said he also has 1024MB ram). So I'm thinking it might not be the video card anyway.

Check the following:

1)AA/AF settings in your Nvidia control pannel. Turn them off if they are on.
2)Tinker with the detail settings, try High medium and Low details and see what happens on each. If it is just as bad on low details as on high then its a video card problem. Get the latest drivers from www.nvidia.com. Incase this is it.
3)This is an unusual one but it might be worth checking, what sound card (if any) do you use? Another mate of mine had duff audigy 2 drivers and it caused things in his Week old FX 53 system to crawl along in 3d stuff with sound. Unusual I know but you never know.

Report back!

I have an Audigy card.

I'll turn off AA/AF.

The slowdown isn't that bad. It's just sticking in my craw since I play the game constantly.

thanks!!

chances are that you've applied the patch, then over write the original pes.exe with the wolf epl cl patched exe, you dont need to do this and it is the cause of the slow down because something to do with it having an old collar fix on it

do a fresh install of your pro evo 3, update it with the latest konami patch + apply the wolf epl cl patch but DO NOT apply the patched exe

you'll have little slow down if any, but you will have dodgy collars on some kits, but can be fixed by applying new collar fix from pes.piratecove.org

jobs a good 'un :)

if the game is properly patched and runs smooth on your haggard old 440, then no doubt it go like s*** off a shovel on a radeon 9800 and have much better graphics detail and resolution

i did what you said and it runs pritty well now just slows when there are lot of players around the ball useually freekick and corners

for any 1 else will gforce mx440 card
here some steps

1.install the game
2.update to konami official patch 1.3
3.then install the wolf patch (but dont use the .exe)
4.then install the newest collor patch
5.then use the no cd crack from www.gamecopyworld.com
6. play it

it should reasonably well at low res on medium graphics setting hope this helps

oh and cheers to BISH

Hi guys.

My actual config is:

- P4 2.0 Ghz 768 MB ram

- Nvidia FX 5900 128 MB

- SBlaster Live 5.1

- Windows XP with directx 9

- PES 3 with no crappy patches.

I noticed when i run the game with the sound card disabled, i can run the game at the best resolution with AA and AF at the max, with no slowdowns AT ALL. But when i enable the sound, it becomes slow within the areas. So i conclude that is a sound problem. Does any of you have experienced this same problem, and have you corrected it? how? I am getting tired of playing in silence..

I have the same problem, runs smoothly when sound card is disabled.

My specs:
WinXP with DirectX 9b
Celeron 2.6
Radeon 9600 XT 128MB
512 MB RAM
Realtek AC97 onboard audio

I've tried with both official patches and I updated sound drivers from Realtek's website. I also noticed that both my audio card and integrated ethernet card use the same IRQ (17), I disabled the ethernet card but it didn't help. Also I lowered the sound acceleration and conversion quality settings but again no help.

Where can I get motherboard drivers?

Anyone have any other solutions?

we7i patch?

I only found official patches for pes3, are there any patches (official or not) that help with the slowdown thing for WE7I?

Btw, does anyone own a radeon 9000 card and can help me with the settings? thanks
