The FM 08 Challenge Thread

Right, first challenge is taking Colchester United to the Premiership inside a season - if you can manage it, of course. Screenshots along the way are fine, but obviously you'll have to produce a season-ending so we sort out points and potential prizes depending on how generous I am.

This shall begin next Wednesday. Reason for that is obviously with the launch of Pro Evo, I don't wish for it to begin and to have no-one playing at all! However, should you wish to start now, feel free to do so.

It will last for either 4 weeks, or a Calendar month - depending on how it goes.

True, although I tend to get through a season quickly if I'm bored by going on holiday.

Obviously that won't be allowed! I'll make it two weeks, provided there's enough interest.

I have the same problem. I think this is a really good idea, and I'd love to get involved but I'm currently trying to sort myself out career wise.

I'm enjoying my Liverpool season at the mo, and with PES out soon it'll be tricky, but I'll manage to get it done.

We should have an online game sometime in the future.

As I'm trying to get this going, can everyone answer these two questions:

1) Who would be free to start next Wednesday? It'll run for two weeks.

2) Anyone got a problem with using Colchester as our first challenge team?

I'm buying the game on Friday and as such will be well up for taking part.

I think two weeks is too little. A calendar month would be ideal - those with slightly lower-spec computers will take a fair ol' while to get through their season. You have to remember the average user will only be spending a couple of hours on this per day (at most, I'd estimate).

Note - this doesn't apply to me. I have a beast of a computer, and would probably be able to finish a season in a fortnight.

I just think a month is more time for everyone to settle into a challenge - and if it turns out that a season is approx. 2 weeks, we can set challenges set over longer periods of time (in-game).

Having said that, we can specify different lengths of time to complete different challenges.

Obviously rules need to be implemented, like screenshots required as proof etc.
