Personally, I cannot understand why any living breathing mammal cannot see that pes 2010 looks like an updated 09 with some of the same old bugs still in the damn game.

Now maybe the final version will be amazing (hmmm)

But when people come out and start talking about it looking 'realistic'.........

Jeeeezzzz.

My advice is to take a look at evo web forum, the minute these vids came out they were seriously fucking pissed, and for good reason.

Who wants to argue with me that Konami spent 3 years on this game??

Seriously, but you lot accept the lies and bullshit every year, then wonder why you only get an updated version.

In some respect, you kinda get what deserve, you defend shit, you get shit.

And that code in that video, its not acceptable for 3 years work, however you look at it.

Common sense talk.

I agree with you on everything you just said. Apart from one area in which you are completely wrong.

PES 2010 looks like updated version PES 6, not PES 2009. ;)

Its looked exactly the same for the last 5 years now, with just minor graphical improvement every year.

I remember Konami saying before PES09 release that they'd spent years working on the game by the time it was, almost neglecting 08/09 in their "3-year vision"

Its not looking like that is true

A pass is a pass,I don't know why this should be so different, all coaches learn players to pass the same way,I mean there's not a secret technique.

Don't tell me ever yplayer can pass like Pirlo. There's a difference in player's passing technique and accuracy.

Also why don't we forget about pes negatives and talk about fifa's negatives?
I want to hear this from the ones bashing pes.
From the looks of it, fifa is still with the same 09 problems.
Like defending (press X and take it)
Individuality
shooting (although I NEED TO PLAY TI TO JUDGE FULLY)
Technique? Where's the technique in each player?
You can only outrun defenders but not trick them. or at least, that's very hard to do which in reality isn't hard with well times moves.

Well, for a start, tackling has changed drastically from 09 in 10.

About the "press X and take it" thing, it has to be timed now. I'm not going to get started about tackling though, when Konami's main problem in that field is not being able to stop your own AI from making reckless challenges for you. It's been something they've been trying to fix for years, and one can only hope they've finally been able to do it.

Yeah, essentially in the last 2 FIFA games, which have supposedly been amazing, you can just run up to someone, press A, and that's that. You can run up to them from 10 yards away on World Class difficulty level and they'll keep dribbling towards you until you take it. The AI doesn't seem to be able to recognize the danger of losing the ball, and the times that they do try to defend it, they don't do it by passing it off or trying to dribble past, which is what happens most often in real life, they do it by making a 90 degree turn and running width-wise across the pitch, which never happens in real life.

Its getting rediculous, every year its

"This is gonna be the game"

Here is the bottom line which certain individual cannot accept.

Since pes3, there have been fucking BABY STEPS in terms of improvement

For 10 years fifa way underperformed considering the amount of money at their disposal.

Thats why pes was a cult game, the little guy punching above his weight and beating the big guy.

Until Rutter came in, he doesnt fuck about, he turned the game around and now fifa are producing the kind of game a comapny like EA should be producing.

They also took key bits of pes gamplay, possibly even some developers, and put innovatite addtions on these ideas.

Where as pes hasnt moved forward significantly for years.

Thus, we are where we are, a few years ago, PES 2010 would have been good enough to be the best game on the market,

But this rutter bloke is a different story mate, look at how he works compared to seabass, like night and day.

Thats part of the reason why pes is where it is.

Come on tech-skill you cant tell me fifa is a big step up this year it just looks like a polished fifa09 and looks a tad artificial and cartoonish. Also its horribly slow and doesnt look enjoyable to play.Like last year im sure it will be the geeks favourite because it has a overly complex button command system which people confuse with simulation.

Not only that your comparing a finished game to a beta version thats lacking about 90% of its newer animation set, lets have this conversation in october not in august when fifa10 is finished and pes2010 is very incomplete.

Even so pes2010 pes still looks superior the graphics alone currently are very state of the art as well as player modelling and the gameplay looks solid.

Only a blind fool would not be able to see this is not what the finished pes2010 is going to be like.

You say you played the sublime ISS series back in the day on the n64 but you fail to see pes2010 is very much like this opus series already im even seeing the return of true curl and spin on the ball.

As for pes09 its actually a pretty solid game that did not need to be improved massively as ive spent almost 12 months on this game and its not quite the failure some would have you believe.

20 years ive been playing football games and ive player every footie game konami have ever made as well as most of the fifas and even i can see that pes2010 is superior, like it or not tech skill konami just capture the essence of the sport better theres just no grace in fifa.

Auto tackling and easy tackles are 2 different things.
I am gonna give fifa 10 a try as I am gonna get both fifa 10 and pes 10. Then decide which is better. :)

True, I hope they realized this and changed it in 10. But so far I cannot see a difference in tackling. I think I need to play it though.

I don't think FIFA 10 is going to be too different from 09 in terms of gameplay. Rutter has already said that the main aim this year was fixing Manager Mode and making it an enjoyable experience.

Yes, there's the 360 dribbling, but there's definitely not going to be any other major changes to gameplay like the ones we saw in 08 > 09.

Thats complete bull, sorry. Lacking 90% newer animations? No way.

As much as I used to be a PES fan, and still deep down its my favourite game of all time, there is no way that PES2010 will be better overall than FIFA10.

Just because FIFA is slower doesnt make it a bad game or bad gameplay. It just makes it different to PES. But this year that means FIFA is looking like its going to be the superior game.

And don't start on FIFA looking like a polished 09, whereas they have changed player sizes and added new camera angles. They are both polished from 09, but the thing is that PES has had the same old look for YEARS now

And also, state of the art PES2010 is NOT. Maybe if it had been released in '08 then yeah. But now? No friggin way is it. Its behind the times IMO

Surely no-one can say that this video just looks like PES2009.5

The first few videos I saw from Gamescom had me pretty optimistic ... the more I see the more I'm having doubts :s

Really hope playing it isn't like playing PES2009.5 *fingers crossed*

TBH, the pace issue needs to get sorted out, that's my one real concern right now. The game still moves too fast, and since the user-controlled ball carrier seems to for some reason move a lot faster than the CPU defenders, that makes it even worse. In terms of AI and player movement, though, it looks absolutely fantastic. Teammates move into space and make runs instead of standing around, and the defence actually seem to know when to close down and when to stand off judging by what I've seen so far. The way the defender knew to double-team the Liverpool attacker at the start of that vid was awesome. It also looks like when you stand around with the ball too long you will get caught in possession and lose it, which is very realistic. Seen it happen a few times in the vids, anyway.

You're entitled to your opinion, of course, but I've found that the best way to test a game's AI is by watching a match between two computer opponents. I've done this in the last 2 FIFA games and it's been literally un-watchable. The players have no idea what to do without you controlling the ball carrier, attacks lead nowhere, it's not at all like real football. In PES 09 players pass along the ground and make a slow buildup up the pitch, in my opinion it was great, the biggest problem in '09 is that the passing system is messed up making it hard to actually get the ball to go to the right person.

If in PES 10 it's actually possible to get it to look like a game between 2 AI opponents because they've sorted the passing then that alone will be worth my $60 for the game.

Seen this already

didnt know 1 month= 50% build.

And why are they telling playtesters its 80% build

Infact i dont even wanna know........

Yes, the finished version will be the best pes ever.....
:shocking: for someone who's loved PES in the past why are you so negative.
why didn't you just say ah ok so there is still hope...... and if you had seen it already why didn't you share it with us as you do with all the positive news from FIFA.
I guess u just gave yourself away just now...everything PES related is nonsense but when it's about FIFA its all good
