Hi guys I guess i found the source of the slow down problems that we all have.. it seems that the problem begins when the first corner kick is taken.. that and the fact PES3 does not handle the direct sound well... I don`t know too much about computers, directx, video cards, so if you have any suggestions, please help..

the slow down is difficult to pin on one factor. could be video card, cpu, memory, drivers, bugs, its just too hard to find the source I think. Best just to update drivers, defrag your hd, try out bug fixes, upgrade mem or whatever you can afford and try and stay on top of it. That's why PCs are bad for games!!, there is too much that can lose you performance.

in case of PES 3 - konami admit, that he don't have enought experience with making games on PC platform, so expect many patches coming soon. Ironicaly- besides all this problems/bugs, PES 3 is miles ahead FIFA. It's funny, that peoples in EA try about 10 years making football game, and still produce only garbage. Must have both hads left or great sense of humor.

The source of slowdown... after i tested my machine and reinstalled winxp a thousand of times, i realized that the best way to run the game is with the Nvidia drivers 52.xx (the ones before 53.03) and Directx 8.1 (the original that comes with XP). In the game, you must set the resolution the same as your desktop, and if you want the replays to be at normal speed, you have to set quality on LOW, wich means no shadows whatsoever,.. it looks a little bit strange at first, but you can get used to that easily.. anyway, if you like to play with shadows and all, put the detail on medium or high, and the game WONT slow down, but the replays will be useless (too slow!!!).

My equipment:

P4 2.0 Ghz
768 MB RAM
Sound blaster PCI 128
Nvidia Geforce 4 Ti 4600 64 MB
Directx 8.1 on WinXP

cheers.

You should be able to play on high detail, surely, you have nearly the same CPU as me (2.2), same amount of ram, same OS and your ti4600 is not too far off my radeon 9700...should get replays to work well on high detail?

The source of the slowdown has something to do with sound/commentary. The demo (without commentary) for me ran perfectly on highest resoultion and details. But the full version doesn't. But if I disable my soundcard the full version runs perfectly at highest resolution and details. But with sound on it slows down no even on lowest details and resolution. But I've come to accept it now and just play the damn game. It's excellent but if only I can put it on the highest details and resolution then I'd be in heaven.

Hi guys just to add my system spec is a Pentium 4 2.6 Gig with 512 of 333MHZ DDR RAM with a Radeon 9600 TX.. The game runs perfectly on 800x600 full details on my machine with no stupid slow downs even on replays... If I use 1024x768 I do get a hell of a slow down but only on the first two computer controlled replays.... Just thought I would add

This slowdown thing appears to relate to the setup you have and not the hardware you are using necessarily... You need to find the right drivers to run this game for your gfx and sound and also DX9. If you have any questions then ask me... Mine runs fine except on 1024x768 and this is only on computer controlled replays and not user controlled one

The first corner kick isn't the source of the slowdown. It's true that the slowdown begins at the first corner kick, that's simply because there are many players on the screen at the same time.

Also the commentary isn't the problem. The demo and the full game are two different games. If the demo had slowdown problems, konami would have never released the demo.

We just have to wait till Konami comes with a good patch that fixes this problem, but i'm not to sure they ever will fix it completly.

I had the demo, and let me assure you, I had the slowdown. The same kind of slowdown, like the whole game was being played in slow motion, very smooth animation, not choppy, but just slowed down as if underwater.

I have actually found that with the latest patch, I can run at 800x600 on high detail just fine, but 1024x768 on high detail is slow like molassis. 1024x768 at low detail runs great, but doesn't look as nice, since it's missing the stadium effects and shadows.

I stand by what I said before its the overall set up of your system including device drivers and your direct x9 Direct 3D settings as well as general system settings which will impact how well your games run.......

i guess its a sound issue, i mean every time the crowd starts chanting or screaming, the game slows down, especially when the ball is in the penalty area, the crowd starts yelling, and there the game slows down horribly...

I still say check to see if your machine is set up optimally with the best device drivers for your sound cards and gfx cards... If necessary tone down the sound accelleration option under dxdiag!!!!

Yes i do know that i have to set my pc correctly, but how?

i am running the game with the 44.03 nvidia drivers and yes i think it runs better, but the slowdown its still there.. i havent tried the new patch im going to do tht now..

question: the new patch has any special issue with a specific version of the dirvers??

I dont think it has any issues... there is software out there which enables you to get the most out of your pc.... For you people who relate it to sound... go to start menu then click run then type dxdiag.. go to sound and tone down the sound acceleration.. It might make a difference if you are having issues with the sound....
