Lefter Kucukandonyadis (Turkish: Lefter Küçükandonyadis) , born 1925 in Istanbul is a legendary football player and top scorer.
Born as the son of a Greek descent fisherman and grew up with ten other brothers and sisters, he started playing football in Taksim, Istanbul. Küçükandonyadis, transferred to Fenerbahçe in 1947. As the first Turkish footballer ever being international, he played during the years 1951-1953 for ACF Fiorentina in Italy and OGC Nice in France, but returned to his club afterwards. With Fenerbahçe, he won two Istanbul League and three Turkey League (1959, 1961 and 1964) championship titles. In the season 1953-1954, he became top scorer. Küçükandonyadis scored a total of 423 goals in 615 games for Fenerbahçe.
He played 50 times for the Turkey national football team, 9 of them as the captain. He scored 20 goals for Turkey national team, still a great performance after so many years, beaten only by Hakan Şükür by 46 goals. He is the first Turkish football player receiving the "Golden Honor medal" from the Turkish Football Federation.
After his retirement as active footballer in 1963, Küçükandonyadis was player and coach of the teams Egaleo FC in Greece and Johannesburg in South Africa. Returned to Turkey, he served as coach in the clubs Samsunspor, Orduspor, Mersin Idmanyurdu and Boluspor.

Şenol Güneş was born 1 June 1952 in Trabzon. He is one of the most famous Turkish footballers of all time, and is now also a very successful manager.
Şenol Güneş during a gameHe began his career at Erdoğdu Gençlik, playing as a goalkeeper. He later moved onto the Trabzonspor amateur team, and began playing for the senior team soon after. He played for Trabzonspor for nine years, between 1975 and 1984. In his time he won six league championships and 31 caps for the national team, skippering them on five occasions. He was a part of the 'Trabzonpor Efsanesi' ('The Trabzonspor fable') team that captured the imagination of Turkey along with players like Turgay Semercioğlu, Necmi Perekli, and Ali Kemal Denizci.
His management career started at Trabzonspor, he was assistant to a couple of managers before he got his chance as head coach at the club. He came closest to winning the championship in 1996, but only came second after leading for most of the season. He left the club soon after, and worked at other clubs like Antalyaspor. In 2000, he was hired to coach Turkey. At the time, many thought hiring a man with no significant coaching triumphs was not going to work. Turkey qualified for the 2002 World Cup and surprised many people by finishing third. Turkey were one of the outstanding teams of the tournament and their spirited play and attitude impressed everyone. Şenol Güneş won the UEFA Coach of the Year award for 2002. After Turkey failed to qualify for Euro 2004, Şenol was sacked as manager. However, he had proven to many people that he had the capabilities of managing at the top level in his four years in charge.
