shaun, if you had any proof, you wouldnt hesitate to show us it. The fact is, the players in pes run like mario and luigi. 'Ive spoken to someone from Fifa 09 and theyve promised me that it's going to be out of this world'. Doesnt make it true without any proof to back up the claim. Go on youtube and type in fifa 09 and tell me you arent impressed. Fifa 08 was already better than pes 08, reviews proved that and sales too. The fact you cant accept that proves that you are only a fanboy.

I can't post links for some reason or another. Really. It's from WENB. They said it's miles better than 08. I hope so. I never said I'm not impressd with Fifa 09. You're the one not accepting the FACT that pes 09 is looking miles better than 08. You know Fifa 09 got soem bad comments too, just like pes 09. And they both got good comments.

Lorenzinho - Don't worry, not all of us think Italians are pale; having been there a couple of times I (an Englishman) can confirm that they're quite the opposite. Also, why is Lassana Diarra on your "most hated" list? I know he's hardly the epitome of loyalty, but to be honest neither are most modern footballers! Then again, I might be biased - judge what you will from my display picture.

FIFA has licensing and graphics
PES and FIFA both now this, thats why PES are aiming to improve graphics and add some licensing. FIFA are improving gameplay.
but PES know that FIFA gameplay is improving so they need to try stay ahead of FIFA so they're changing parts of there gameplay this year to. PES understand if FIFA's gameplay gets just as good as PES than PES doesnt have a major market to sell to.
i personally think this season is a big year for PES because FIFA's gameplay is alot better this year, anyone who's played EURO 08 know what i'm talking about because FIFA 09 is using EURO 08 gameplay as a template and improving on it. So hopefully PES 09 gameplay is alot better than the 08 game which in my eye's was a drop in standard for KONAMI. so come KONAMI time to step up.

here's the thing... the license for fifpro that konami has makes them able to do the players in actual leagues, but pele maradona and those legends arent a part of fifpro...
now if I were pelé, I'd charge for anybody to use my likeness... or maradona or cruyff, baggio etc... ''thats what I meant on the looch... there are many reasons why they don't do things... most of the time, it has to do with $$$$ mucho diñero...

I get what you are saying, and the ONLY players who would actually charge Money for it; Pele (who created his own Trademark) and Diego Armando Maradona. The rest of them would NOT ask for a penny, heck! most of them would be glad just to be featured in the game.
This is probably Why FIFA haves some Classic Players Fully Edited, but they have NOT managed to Include the Classics that everyone would like to see; Pele and Maradona.
And apart from that, Konami could just Include the "Classic Players" with Random Faces, Random Names, and Edited Hairs -and- then just place their Real Faces somewhere in the Edit Mode.
They have already done that with Most of the German Players; their Default Settings consist of random faces and random names -BUT- most of their Real Faces can be found in the Edit Mode.
They also included a Fully Edited Zinedine Zidane in PES6, Zidane had already retired by that time -and- there was NO mention of Zidane charging Konami -or- Konami asking for Zidane's permission.. also, NO one said it was Ilegal.
So, I don't think it's a case of having Licenses, etc, etc.. I think it's a case of Konami NOT thinking about such Details, they have not taken the time to Edit the Classic Players -wich- is a shame really.
