@Hunter. Somehow I dont picture a Vladislav Vidic as a short stocky character. Lol.

My character is a 6'2'' mexican named Zee 'razor sharp' Ramoz from Guadalajara. My styles are kickboxing and BJJ and I'm ranked 21.
I also had a match against Johnny Oro and was beating him senseless but I lost concentration and got caught by a powerful left hook that sent my gumguard flying.

On ps3 you have to push the right analogue opposite to the direction that the opponent pushes from but if he does force you down you can escape or do a reversal go check it out on the tutorial. Whatever you do dont button bash it usually results in a ground and pound.

Dana White just broke the news that I wont be fighting in the UFC past 2016. I suppose Ill get into commentary.

Whats everyones fighter rating?

So it seems that is the last year every fighter retires. Can you tell me if you retire in April, please?

I had my first fight online earlier on. I was Tyson Griffin and the other guy was BJ Penn. Above or below my name before the fight it said "debut". It said the same for the other guy, so I gather it was his first fight online as well.

I was a lot more experienced than him at the game though. He was whoring the L1 button for his power punches all the way through the fight. I covered up pretty well, but he caught we with a few of them. I managed to knock him down numerous times, but never once rocked him. I think it was more due to the fact that I didn't want to just jump in against him, as I felt I had control of the fight and I didn't want to get caught with the knockout shot.

The fight went the distance and despite me still feeling rather nervous at the end, the judges scored it 30-24, 30-26, 30-26 all in favour of me for a unanimous victory. There was a bit of lag, but it was most definitely playable.

Looks like you hammered him Baddar, well played.

Anywho, some good news people:

Hey everyone, I wanted to let everyone know that THQ is working on a PATCH for UFC 2009. This patch is said to decrease the lag problems and address the situation with the DNFs/quitting.

I can also reveal that they are working with UFC and their production crew already for UFC 2010. They were looking at how UFC presents their live PPVs and shows to help the next iteration.

Also, Jon Fitch and Mike Swick prefer the 360 version while Hermes Franca preferred the PS3 iteration.

Yeah, heard about the patch earlier.

And I'm not too upbeat despite victory in my first online fight. The guy I fought really was bad at the game. I think I was better the first time I tried the demo out.

Unlucky mate, I hope you're being considered for the UFC Hall of Fame then.

I was indeed. Ended up with a 36-5-0 record and finished my career with wins over Anderson Silva and Rich Franklin, not bad. Ill be going to expert when I move to the Lightweight division.

So it seems that is the last year every fighter retires. Can you tell me if you retire in April, please?

I think it was April, mate. Not 100% sure though.

I retired with an 83 or 85 overall rating, which couldve been better but I spent too much time on my attributes instead of skills becaue I didnt spar for ages.

Boxing Level 5 and Wrestling Level 4

I think they should include a description of "Quitter" where they describe your online fighting style. So, you may have:

Vicious Ground And Pound
Likes The Take Down
Quitter

This could give you the chance to not go ahead with the fight in the character selection screen.

Excellent idea, mate. They should be branded and shamed.

I'm really looking forward to this up-and-coming patch because I've gave up playing online until such a time as a fix is released. It's actually hitting me two fold. One; because I have such a solid record I see a lot of opponents quit on me in the lobby once they see my 32-3-0 record. Therefore they must assume I have cheated to attain and maintain said record. And two; I've had my fair share of quitters cheat me out of victories also. So not only is it difficult for me to find an opponent willing to go at it, but when I do actually score a fight the chances of that opponent being a quitter are increased due to all the honest players avoiding me as they think I'm a cheater!

And it would be nice if the lag could be reigned in somewhat, too, of course. Lag can take so much away from the game, because timing is everything, especially in the standup. I throughly enjoy single player, as well as multiplayer, because it is so fluid and sharp. Online can be brilliant but, every now and again lag puts restrictions on where it is safe to exchange, effectively choking the life out of what could've been a thrilling battle.

My XBox is set up downstairs and Im currently home from a 15 hour shift so Im too tired to set it up, even though Id love to play the game, but my uncles etc are downstairs and I cant play it down there, so Ill have to make do with the DVD I got - UFC Knockouts 6.

Anyone reckon the next game will have intros? If you could add your own music it would be class. That, a more in-depth Create-a-Fighter, perhaps some greater variety in kicks and punches (so that perhaps not each hit has exactly the same animation) and of course the much needed classic fighters would make the game almost perfect.

That, and the ability to have Bruce Buffer actually somehow say your name.

I 100% agree about the more in depth create-a-fighter. It should have more hair styles and countries/counties to choose from. I was talking to a mate earlier about the game and what it needs i.e the prospect of your own music to walk down to, he chose Kasabian - Club Foot and I opted for Wham - Club Tropicana.

What would you choose, Barn?

That's a tough one mate, probably something metal, though you could have some right laughs with it.

I want to be able to make huge fat monstrosities, like Tank Abbott, or that huge black guy from the early UFC events, I don't remember his name. He was shit though.

He sure was, he was also briefly in Oz if I remember correctly.

Indeed he was, Robson gave him AIDS thank god. Although we really should have seen the explicit sex act between the pair.

Via Oz I've just found out his real name: Emanuel 'Manny' Yarborough. Weighed 800lbs at one point. What a fat cunt.

It could be that they're scared to play you, rather than them thinking you're a cheat. I was matched up against someone who had nearly forty wins in one of my first games, but I had to back away, because I was nowhere near his level.
