This was the first game without goals in the cup. But,not without chances. There were plenty of them. Before the match, one side of me expected this game with a dose of sarcasm and other side hoped for an interesting game. Wales’ players were encouraged by victory of Senegal and so tried to do the same. Well, we could say they worked. Cause one point for Wales is a lot. That’s the real picture. Well,mufc_rule must thank Paul Jones excellent goalkeeper for this point.
Don’t get me wrong. Turkey didn’t play bad,but you must agree with me that this is a failure for them. They had their first chance in sixth minute when Okan found a way to the goal but didn’t found the way next to goalkeeper who elegantly caught the ball. Wales had couple of chances but when the time comes to shoot that is…Oh,my God! All of their shots ended in the sky. Hasan Sas is the tragic man of the match. He missed two headers that could have been goals. And he also two times failed to surmount (I found this word in dictionary, first time hearing about it)
the goalie. Well mufc_rule found good defense tactics for Wales. And for Turkey it’s just a little luck they didn’t have, but now they have less chance to advance to the second round, especially now when Senegal defeated Brazil.
Man of the match: Paul Jones(Wales)

Well this was a solid game, but I just didn’t enjoy it. Anything but the two goals didn’t really happen. There were a lot of mistakes from the both sides and neither of them couldn’t really built good chances. First half was with no excitement at all. Only one solid chance but Koller missed it. Australia decided to defend their goal. But,their resistance was broken in 71’. Smicer took the ball away from Murphy and easily scored a goal. Australia tried with two shots from about 20m after that but they didn’t have what it takes to tie. So, punishment came in last minute when Nedved centered the ball and Koller jumped even higher than the goalie to score a goal. Australia didn’t have any real opportunity in this match. Perhaps gangsta9 should change tactics for next match.
Man of the match: Vladimir Smicer(Czech Rep.)
