Here's a partial quote from the first page of this thread, to save a lot of space :)

QUOTE:
-------------------------------------------------------
Here is another method to install the patch.

1. Create an iso file of the game
2. Optional: Apply other patches as you wish (Fernado's translation patch - no brainer)
3. Extract the files to a temporary directory using isobuster.
4. Right-click the ISO folderin isobuster and save the relative file list to the esam directory as in step 3.
5. Overwrite J_SOUND.AFS file in the directory
6. Open CDGEN_PS2 program and load the filelist (no lba option)
7. Change the VOLUME NAME TO "SLPM_660.09"
8. Generate the iso file and burn it at a slow speed or transfer it to your HD.
------------------------------------------------------

Ok.. 1st question is: of the 2 methods given, this is the only one that instructs how to incorporate additional patches. Does this mean that this is THE BEST method to use for more than 1 patch? (fernando + commentary)

And can someone please simply reword instructions 3, 4, 5 and 6? :) It's a bit ambiguous for someone trying to figure these programs out.

In step 3: which files? The game iso, after patching with Fernando's?

In step 4: when I right click the iso folder in ISObuster - that's the red "iso" on the left column, right? I do this when the game iso is loaded? If so, what is the "relative file list?" If the "relative file list" is everything listed in the right column, and i'm supposed to save it to the same directory as in step 3, that sounds like doing step 3 again..?

In step 5: After someone clears up steps 3 and 4, how does this overwriting take place? I have all the necessary files. With dkz? ISObuster?

In step 6: I downloaded CDGENPS2 v2. I see there is an option to load ps2 files (*.ps2). Is this the file list that was mentioned in step 4?

If someone with good english and logic could help me with this, that'd be super :) I've looked through tons of posts for references to file lists, and overwriting afs files (using dkz's "import files in the current folder" - i understand that one), etc.. I'm oh so close..

use this method

1.You have to download the patch. ie the eng commentary!
2.Extract the .rar and you should get jsound.rar-extract files and replace!
3.with the version of dkz studio that i´ve told you, you go to file and select open
4.Open your Winning Eleven 9 .iso (dvd game)
5.Then when you see what´s inside the image you select import files-(import the commentary u downloaded)!
6.Select the jsound.afs file-(ie eng comm)
7.close dkzstudio (no need saving)
8.Burn

use dvd decrypter 2 burn at 1,2 or 4 speed mine wrks at 4 speed only!

after this open ppfomatic and insert the iso (game image and then put fernandos patch apply it close and then burn!

You must have dkzstudio 0.81beta to do this, if you want to use fernando patch just use ppfomatic and you have all the game in english!!

Hehe thanks for your reply, but that's not what i'm talking about :p
I'm asking about "the other method" using isobuster, etc, when applying multiple patches.

Can we download this normally off a http link or do we have to use the torrent.
I can't use torrents on my PC so I can only download from a link to the actual file.

Did this today, couple of questions.

1) is it just me or is there the odd bit of Jap still?

2) I tried to apply Fernando's v5 patch as well after putting this j_sound.afs file in the dvd but it just comes up as a blank screen...just applying the sound file alone makes it work, but the v5 patch won't work if i try that as well

you've just answered a question for me, i patched the sound file and then fernandos v5 patch and it didnt work, assumed it was the sound file but your post suggests different

is there a way round this?

Well...I actually made it work by using Fernando's v5 Finale and this English commentary patch.
I can tell you that This commentary leaves out the player's names still in Jap according to the note that the original patcher left saying "there is no way you could change over the player's names since this patch is from the previous versions of WE."

The following is how I patched WE9
1. Patch Fernando's v5 Finale using ppf
2. Patch PESKOREA's total emblem (the version he released was for Ferando's v4 but still works with the latest versions)
3. Patch PESKOREA's total emblem Bug Fix
4. Patch FIFA English commentary
5. Burn

Ok, I will try this method... I dont actually have the Peskorea files yet but I imagine they wont be hard to find

Unfortunately I am using an ISO previously patched with fernando V3 as my brother is borrowing my game disc at the moment, do you see any problems with re-patching a patched file?

I intend to extract the v3 iso from my ps2 hard drive, then apply the patches mentioned above in the order you suggest.

I am actually using the FIFA commentry.. I think I will try the standard english commentry with this as have had conflicting reports on the FIFA patch.

thx for your help

No , apply only one of them.

For english translation apply the first one. For english translation with japanese player names (good for using option files in the future with no problems) use the second one and the third is an english translation with the PESKOREA team emblems.

No. That is physically impossible. Don't you think people would do all that with the option file if it was possible?

Try this...

in WE9 main menu select 'OPTION', press O... (go to step [1])
or
during match pause & select 'Sound Settings', press O... (go to step [2])

[1] in 'MODE SELECT' menu select 'Sound Settings'...

[2] in 'Sound Settings' menu you may alter volume/frequency, to adjust
levels use left/right buttons OR move left-analogue stick left/right...

(a) 'Commentry Frequency', 3 white stars=low & 3 yellow stars=high.
(b) 'Commentary Volume', move to max level (all to the right).
(c) 'Sound Effects Volume', adjust to about half of max level.
(d) 'Music Volume', lower than (c) at least two blocks.

Hope this helps.
