What games are you waiting for?

Played the 3DS today in GAME at Birmingham. They were only demoing the augmented reality games as well as letting you try out the home menu stuff.

It's good,, but I couldn't make judgement on the 3d effect in the couple of minutes I had with it, especially as I had the store assistant breathing over my shoulder just waiting for me to make a bolt for the door with the unit.

Theres a good AR game where you take pictures of your friends/family/enemies and their heads start flying around the environment and you have to destroy them. My favourite was when you place an AR card on any environment and a box appears, you shoot it and it explodes and a monster bursts out of the ground, destroy it and it sinks into a hole in the environment and you physically move the device to look down it and then the bastard bursts out at you because he was playing possum....the bastard.

The 3d brought some good depth inwards into the game, but it doesnt strike out at you like a movie (due to the fact in essence, the 3d glasses are on the screen). The main thing for me is that I can see the 3d effect, always worried that my shit eyesight would affect it, but it doesn't. Looking forward to picking this up.

Irrespective of platform, the rest of the year's must buy's:

Saints Row The Third
Dungeon Siege III
Dark Souls
Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
And of course, the new Deus Ex looks fantastic.

Also really tempted by Rage. Everything looks to be shaping up nicely.

Further into the future... Forza 4 & Kings of Amalur: Reckoning are looking like certs for my collection...

Not really 'what I'm waiting for', but looking at November's line-up:

Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
Uncharted 3
Battlefield 3
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3
Assassins Creed: Revelations

..it's no wonder Mass Effect 3 was delayed.

That's going to be a good month. Though I might just get COD and wait for Elder Scrolls to go down in price as I won't play it for a while. Really don't like Battlefield, AC is a maybe.

ME3 is an absolute definite though!

I think Dungeon Siege 3 may be out today. I've been waiting for a few reviews before splashing the cash. My mate says a few have been favorable, especially of the co-op play. Think I may have to procure it!

Dungeon Siege 3 is beyond awful. It is abysmal! Online play is severly broken with an appalling camera and all four players having to share the same screen. I would go as far as labelling its online mode as unplayable in its current state.

As a single player experience it is better, due to having an entire screen to yourself and a choice of two camera angles. But it's far from a must have. It would be a decent bargain bin purchase (for a single player run) at best.

I'm considering trading it in already. And it isn't even 24 hours old, yet.

Let's hope Lord of the Rings: War in the North brings forth a better offering.

I do hope you're being sarcastic.

How can you tell it looks awesome? There's no gameplay footage. Just a typical American voice over guy talking nonsense.

Even the title is a shameless Uncharted rip off!
