XBox 360 Pro Evolution Soccer 6 - My Thoughts

I think in a month or two's time people will change their mind.

I'm fuming about the 'no replay saves' on 360, but the gameplay seems to be about ball posession, acceleration and passing. Instead of holding down R1 (PES4 was too easy to run around like headless chickens) they've changed the whole way you use R1 and R2. Standing stationery, or dribbling slow and then doing the R1 Cruyff turn, if you are a Henry/Ronaldo type, your player really does burst away. Try it!

Exactly, the gameplay is absoultely superb, you've really got to pick your passes out and create moves intelligently. Switching the play between the full backs is another great way to keep you opponent on their toes, it looks so realistic aswell.

360 Pes

Hi Guys,

I have the both versions of the game (PS2 & 360) and to be honest I think the 360 version is a lot better. First of all once you have played the 360 version its hard to go back to the graphics on the PS2! Although the PS2 graphics are good for the GEN or console its on they are no where near as crisp and realistic looking as the 360 version.
The main reason I got the PS2 version was for the edit option, I really couldn't stand the lack of team names and stadiums on the 360 but the gamplay on the 360 is much more realistic and in time you can just about put the crap kits and team names to the back of your mind as the football realism is fantastic. Im still gonna complain though as its asif the 360 has been given a half finished game.

My advice to anyone out there who doesn't know what version to get, if you play the PS2 version first then stick to that version only as there's a lot more content. However if we play the 360 version first then it really is hard to go back to the PS2.

If they made all the edit options available on th e360 version it would simply be the greatest football game ever!

I agree totally, for the gameplay and realism 360 is bar far the best !

remember they had to create the 360 version from scratch so they made slight modifications to gameplay, smoother, more control over players. Plus last two levels are hard, the professional player is like the 6 stars on winning eleven 10/pro evo 6. and the top player level is ahead and harder than 6 stars. the A1 is really good and a perfect match.

But still its 80 percent a game compared to ps2 version becuase of lack of editing mode, only 8 stadiums and no german league. So all you true pro evo fans who have the 360 version please register the complaint: Konami London 02089875730. We will get answer or an updated patch to fix this lack of features, but we must complain, we need your support !

anyone tried changing the settings on the 360 console back from WIDESCREEN back to NORMAL and noticed to the difference in the speed of the gameplay ? ? ?

let me know

Yes, their is a big difference in the speed of gameplay when you switch between the two modes. I also noticed there was no fix mode, which is a disappointment, controlling some of the team as individuals was fun, but then, for that mode to really work you need 4 more friends at least. 4 pads is the maximum limit on the 360.

You don't have to play with fake names on this game either as it has at least a name edit, you can edit height, age, stronger foot, injury level, growth type, position, abilities and special abilities. A big disappointment on the PS2 version in that department.

As for the gameplay. I find it quite neat and challenging, you can string together some lovely moves and they look very fluid indeed. Whereas in the PS2 version you can move up the field with much more pace and with less thought, PS2 version also feels much easier. That said, when I turned it from widescreen to normal on the 360, it felt a bit more similar to the PS2 version, which is.. odd. :p But i'll tell you more when I check it out some more.

Having a HDTV makes the picture quality nicer, but doesn't really do much else for the game from what I have noticed. I've even tried it on my monitor, it does not change the feel of it or speed.

But for me, hands down, the 360 versions gameplay feels much better and challenging, if you can get past and forgive the current bad points (And complain for them to put edit modes in, fixed mode, more stadiums etc) then you will find the gameplay and challenge very very rewarding. It's an excellent game.

apart from th x2 faster gameplay speed when switching from WIDESCREEN back to NORMAL , why is it in some matches, the speed of the gameplay slows down, espececially the speed of the ball, its like filled with water than air ?

anyone noticed speed of gameplay differs in matches ?

Switching from Widescreen to normal

Hi

The game definitely plays a lot faster when switching from widescreen to normal but this option is only available if you reduce your resolution from 720p/1080i to 480p. Meaning you cannot change from widescreen to normal if you want to play at the highest quality.
Also in changing from widescreen to normal 480p it also seem to have changed the refresh rate to 50Hz, and I cannot change this back to 60Hz even if I change the resolution back up to 720p/1080i.

Anyone know how I can change this back to 60Hz?
( Is there an option in game to do this ? Or is it somewhere in the system settings of the xbox ? )

Thanks

You can change it back to 60hz by hitting the switch on your xbox lead, it makes it active as a composite lead (Yellow wire, with a red and white audio wire) then go into your options, turn it back to 60hz and go to back to HD mode.

As for the speed of the ball and gameplay in some matches, I am not sure, maybe it has something to do with certain kits or the balls, no idea, there are many variables, but I do agree, it does happen. Maybe experiment with it a bit and you may be able to find out.

Tried with Riquelme from about 35/40 yards in my ML, flew just over the top left hand corner of the goal........keeper had no chance if it was on target.

I just rang Konami and complained

Don't think they'll be able to do to many fixes with this version, but at least they'll know for PES7 anyway PES6 is great apart from all the stuff they removed from the 360 version. And for those that don't know, if you wanna get the the real benefits of high def you need a BIG screen, you WILL notice the difference!!!

Thinking of buying a 360 , is there an option file u can download to update players and Kits ect...I heard that you cant really edit that much

Nope, can't edit kits or anything like that. You can only edit a players name, stats, nationality, special stars, age etc. You can download a 360 OF but only for corrected names and maybe some updated player stats. You'll have to wait for PES7 to be able to edit kits and team names etc.

This still shouldn't put you off buying a 360 though because there are some awesome games out there at the moment........Gears of War is definately a must have!

I managed to score a goal from 30 yards, first one so far, but quite shockingly, it was with a default master league player, louga, first time and into the top corner.

If you can really get past the editing point and quite a few features that spoil some of what you can do, the actual game is very enjoyable. But Dayoc, if you wanna edit, have real kits etc, just stick to the PS2 version.

I agree with bluescouse on the gears of war point completely, amazing game, they've made a really big effort with that game.
