Thought I'd create this thread based on a new trailer I've just seen for Dead Island. The chances are I won't even buy it, I'm not usually big on horror movies, games, zombies, all that sort of stuff. However I needed to post this trailer as it's just brilliant.

I've got a few other trailers in mind that I've loved over the years but I won't hog all of them, so feel free to post some of your favourites from what you can remember.

I love the opening to Killzone2. I've heard it so many times I almost know the Brian Cox dialogue off by heart. Its just plain awesome from 1:55 onwards.

I remember everyone waiting for the release of this trailer, and Rockstar had a count-down before it was released. Site crashed in the end, and I ended up seeing it about 3-4 hours after it was initially released. Awesome trailer that really built up my hype for the next GTA.

Brilliant shout on GTAIV. I can't believe that slipped my mind. I didn't actually think the game was as incredible as it should have been and the longevity wasn't there for me as I soon got bored after around 35-40%. However there's no denying that the launch trailer sent the internet into meltdown. Within a day there was so many analysis videos up trying to break down the trailer into segments and reveal clues for the game. It was quite extraordinary.

I thought the game was Incredible, but lacked a huge fun-factor which previous games had. It was still fun, but not as much, considering it's really not that hard to go back to San Andreas, or my personal favourite, Vice City, nowadays and still have a huge amount of fun.

And absolutely. I was constantly on the IGN boards each day to watch out for news of the game. I can quite clearly say I have never been as hyped for a game as I was for GTA IV. It will all start again hopefully next year if they do plan on announcing a new GTA soon.

If LA Noire is free-roam, I wouldn't be surprised if they put a subtle clue about the next GTA in the game somewhere. That would be cool.

Anyways, to get back on topic, I also enjoyed this..

Like BioShock, God of War trailers always produced the goods. Sums up the game perfectly. Kratos is angry and gonna kick some ass.

Not much actually happens in this, and it probably doesn't mean anything to anyone who hasn't played the game as it is a teaser, but the soundtrack and imagery really got me salivating for more Fallout.

Wow, well played with BioShock. I can't believe I forgot about it considering it's one of my all time favourite games. I don't think I've ever been so enthralled during a single player experience in recent years. It was utterly brilliant, and a classic in the old sense of the word. The story was excellent, the graphics great and the artistic design of each level mesmerising. It also probably had one of the strongest openings to any game, ever. When I first played the demo I was stunned. It felt like I was taken to another world and engrossed in something quite horrifying but special.

I'm trying to think of more trailers like the Tomb Raider Underworld one I posted. Games no better than average but have a really stylish or exciting trailer. You expect all the huge releases to have big, expensive hype videos anyway.
