Just read that diving might be included in PES2008.... Not sure if this is a good or bad thing but any news at the minute is good for me!!

Ivory Coast & Ghana being fully licensed is a must though. I hated being Ghana online it just doesn't feel the same with the wrong names!

They should make all international teams licsensed.. I hope the diving thing has an on/off switch on the general settings so you decide if you want diving or not

i wouldn't mind diving as long it would be very difficult to execute and easily punishable if done wrong which would make most people shy away from doing it

Wasn't there diving in another footy game? I forget what it was called, but they handled it quite well. The game wasn't great, but the diving didn't really spoil it.


Hand-balls should return too. They were annoying as hell in PES3 but it's even more annoying when a player scores in the 90th minute with the help of his hand.

I think i'm right in saying they had diving in a fifa game years ago, it was something like L1 & R2 together to dive. It only worked once every so often but was fun against yer mates!

I've had handballs in PES6, they're just uber rare & not half as annoying the "only attacking team gets penalised" handballs of PES 3.

Its about time they had some real refs too me thinks

Yeah spot on. The German mag reckons its a 3 button combo which, if all are the face buttons (square,circle/A,B etc), then it would be fairly tricky to do unless you are quite deformed. It would certainly need some premeditation just like the real thing.

Hand balls are definetely in PES6, I'm quite often penalised to be honest. Possibly once every five-ten games when playing my friends on Xbox Live. The most frustrating one was recently, as I crossed it in, my striker lept for an overhead kick and instead of kicking it, he merely decided to slap the ball to the ground. I remember the commentator mentioning a handball once also, months ago mind, but it's how I came to find out they were in the game.

The diving will only work if there is more than 1 animation for falling down, to be honest.

it was on Fifa 98 or 99 aswell *dodges projectile missiles thrown at him*
it didnt work half the time and it look blatantly obvious.

if so will it be a star rating ability
