I played 2 online games a few hours ago. That was very frustating. My players just couldn't find the net even though it was mostly 1-on-1 situation. I lost 2-0 to an American. He was Man United and I was Newcastle. Played a rematch, this time I'm using Bayern Munich. Again, he scored first after my defender failed to clear the ball. He somehow missed the clearence, giving a chance to my opponent.
After that, I decided to stop playing pretty football. My opponent always runs the ball with Rooney/Ronaldo/Tevez/Berbatov and that annoys me so much. So, I decided to run the ball with Ribery every time I received the ball. It was worth it. I got an equalized through Toni late in the Second Half. And, I won the match through a Ze Roberto goal in the first period of extra time.
Long story short, I really hate playing against people that uses Man United or 5 Star teams.

if you're within 25 yards I never use anything but top spin on the ball and you don't need that much power, I score about 1 in 4 I'd say...I've scored a cracker with Ronaldinho from 41 yards

Scored (and uploaded for the first time) a pretty impressive Berbatov left-footed Berbatov strike. Will get it up in a second if I can be arsed.

About disconnecting, 90% of people online disconnect as soon as i score my third goal, they just think that quitting the game and lose 2-0 is better than 3 or 3+ which is annoying cause when i lose i always take the beating all the way.
I was playing against this guy playing as man utd and putting ronaldo upfront, while activating adidas live season and ronaldo raped my defence just like it wasn't there with scores like 4-0 and 5-2, I was amazed cause i was ranked at 2900 something and i drove me back to 10000+.
Also, anyone interested in a league? But I do hope people don't get too specific dates on, i mean opponents should work out when they want their game to be played cause i've been busy as hell these couple of weeks.

If nobody quits and the game just disconnects I'm pretty sure no one gets awarded a win, I don't even think it shows up that you played them...
Although I was playing some guy and the game froze , so I just turned my PS3 off then on and because he was the home team I was awarded the win, this has happened a couple of times not in my favour as well...
I'm having trouble playing on live, I can't play anything like I do on my own on live. I just seem to get ripped apart easily, while still playing well.
I attempted an interactive league match the other day, I was Rennes, and the opponent was Saint-Etienne. I had the majority of the ball for 25 minutes, and I found myself 3-0 down during this period. It's weird, because I can play some good football against a friend, and then, play someone on live and get completely killed

my first few online games in FIFA I got owned to say the least, I then discovered that going into formations and making your 2 centre halves sit a lot deeper by basically moving their position to sweeper helps A LOT!

I think that I've found out why I received the 3-0 loss. I had possession of the ball when the game disconnected, so EA server might think that I quit the game since you're only allowed to pause the game when you have possession.

the only time I seem to concede goals now is when the opposition plays a lobbed through pass and my defenders act like Rtards and stop sprinting for the ball!

I don't think you can. I think it's a bit of a bug, and I noticed it offline before playing online too. The same applies for a FK from like 40 yards out, out wide. The opposing team has two players in the centre circle, yet your team has everyone thrown forward apart from one player, left marking the two attackers. For that reason I rarely try to put a cross into the box from a FK from that far out incase I get caught on the counter...like I have already been so many times.
That's how I conceded a lot of goals online. Once my opponent did a clearing header, it usually falls to their striker. Then, because I was changing the cursor (which never went to the right player) it opened up my defence, and they will run with the star striker and score a goal.
I guess, I'll have to start playing short corners.
