Master League

Alright, thought I'd tell you lot about my team, South Wimberney FC.

I'm at the start of my third season and the moment the squad looks like this:

Won the D1 cup last year but got relegated also (on purpose). I got relegated because I realised that you get classic players for winning trophies in ML and I was promoted in second place without winning the cup so I decided to drop down to win those then head back up again as a double-winner.

In the transfer window just gone I signed Schwarzer, Rivas, Chikhaoui, Delios and Stoyanov and I'm liking my chances this season. I could do with cutting down the squad though and I'm thinking Liebermann, Ivarov and Dogue will be shown the door in January, more if I get good replacements.

in the middle of my second season with Milan and am in 13th place. Currently have bought Boriello and Geovanni,

Do you think it is advisable to purchase my own created player of myself? He has great stats but am pondering on buying him, as i may rely on him too much to get goals etc and thus may make the masterleague challenge a lot easier...

Also any good cheap players which are easily bought?

lol i have shcwartzer too but when i made my master league i deleded ivanov and put shcwarzer in also if any one wants a top goal scorer buy quincy owusu abeyine he is a free agent used to play for arsenal i cant belive how good he is done so much for me and has 11 league goals

do play stay at the same club when they retire and regrow? e.g. when van der sar retire will he stay at man utd?

he will reborn in newcomers. i dont know if he gets the original stats or not.

As alonCFC said, reborn players come into the "Newcomers" group and they can be signed by any club in the game, also they have low stats, like you could expect from a 17-year-olds . They have, however, as far as I know, the same skill curve as they had before retiring. This would mean that with proper training the player could get to his starting stats in a couple of seasons. I hope so for my Nedved who is 17 now and is supposed to reach an average of slightly below 90.

im guessing it depends on the player mentality and affection to the team... most of them retire in 37-40.

Just started a Master League not so long ago, I'm in my 1st season, with only around 6 matches left. I'm currently sitting about 10th in the table out of 12. I'll be happy as long as I don't finish bottom, and if I'm able to make at least 2 of my desired signings at the end of the season.

My team is called "Shamrox Athletic", inspired and sponsored by the Irish pub in Newcastle of the same name (now closed temporarily after partial burning inside):

i also class burchet as a smf as i play 4-4-2 guiterez is quality i didnt realise how many players u got at the beggining i can noramlly just get a keeper by the way i had to start again as i got a game over but im manutd but still with the defult players

When I did mine I didn't even realize I could get players at the beginning .. oh well, makes it harder I suppose.

if u create a custom team u can normally replace one player with a good keeper coz thats all u can afford and make a really unheard of crap defender

I kinda gave up the challenge with default players, so I'm focusing my PES-gaming on my ML with Valencia. I've just finished (nearly... one last match left - World Selection, and 2 weeks of negotiations...) my third season on Top Player. Won the D1 League - 35 wins, 3 draws, 0 losses. 172 goals scored, 42 conceded. I was announced as the champion 9 games away from the end of the league. Villa was the top scorer (39 goals) and the overall best player and Silva topped the assist ranking (25 assists). Won the D1 Cup Final over Recreativo Huelva, having Arizmendi with 13 goals in the cup as the top scorer and the overall best player and Silva the best assist maker again (5 assists). Won the Champions Cup Final (what were you thinking? xD) over Liverpool (they were my group opponent as well), having Obinna as the top scorer of the tournament (13 goals), Villa as the assist leader (4 assists) - but overall best player went to Gerrard

During that negotiation period my squad saw me making quite a few transfer moves... Sold Vicente, Ribery, Marchena, set Hildebrand as a possible transfer, released Moretti and Albelda... Bought Buffon, Pique, C. Ronaldo... Now my squad is as follows (substitues in the brackets):
GKs: Buffon (Rubinho);
CBs: Raul Albiol, A. Ferdinand (Micah Richards, Pique);
SBs: Armand Traore, Yasuda (Nilgarna [Nyatanga], Dagaka [Kaebi]);
DMFs: Miguel Veloso (Banega - sold him after the 1st season, now bought him back during mid-season transfer window);
CMFs: Wijnaldum (Nedved, re-born) [the weakest point of my team, actually];
SMFs/WFs (depends on the tactics for a particular match): Silva, C. Ronaldo (Pablo Hernandez, Chirne [Chikhaoui]);
CFs (and SSs on that position): Villa, Arizmendi (Park Chu Young, Mauro Zarate, Obinna);

Looking forward to the new season - I'll do my best to make it a perfect season. I'll keep you updated.

No offence but I just don't see how it can be enjoyable to win every match with no challenge at all. I've just finished my first season with Shamrox Athletic in 7th place out of the 12 in Division 2. I'm definetely happy with my position as I was sitting in 10th place with 6 games to go, I managed to finally hit a bit of form and even won my last match 3-0 away from home.

I've sort of restricted the amount of purchases I've made in the end of season window as I like to keep it somewhat challenging. My signings have strictly been youngsters (under 20's) and also young free agents. I've signed Piatti and Stephan Ireland to play on my wings, with Wijnaldum to help Ettori in the centre of midfield at times.

Master League is awesome, any1 who thinks it should be removed from pro evo should just shut up, wot would u do without it?

Please don't take this the wrong way, but doesn't it defeat the purpose to start out with such a powerful team? I find it much more challenging, and rewarding and entertaining to start out with a crappy team or the ML default and then turn them into a power house...

Once again, if you're having fun then more power to you, I definetely don't mean to upset you, I'm simply just curious.

i was manutd and still have my team of greats but the other day iwent back to it and then after 3 games i won all 3 and just got completely bored i didnt fell like i was going to loose i dint get the excitment of scoring because i had already done a master league with the defult players and it was a proper challenge 3 seasons in the d2 league and then got a game over thats when i carried on with my manutd master league as explained but now i am still manutd with the defults again and i have that passion and excitment back of wanting to win and going mental when i score a goal so much more challenging

Exactly my thoughts... when I score with the ML default squad its an accomplishment and makes the game a ton of fun...

If I ran around with Man U and their normal squad... I mean in D2 I wouldn't expect to lose many games.. maybe from lack of concentration or something, but it would be a snooze fest.

I'm gonna start a new ML team with Napoli.

Been thinking of doing this for ages. Shaun, how good is the challenge?. Any youngsters in the team who have develoed wel for you?.

To me there is a purpose in starting ML with a good team. Experience. Start off by beating opps on Top Player with a good team and then progressively lower your power. Now actually, after playing 3 matches into the new season with Valencia I came back to the default players game. Even D2 is challenging, as I made it consist of Fiorentina, Aston Villa, Tottenham, Lazio, Villareal, Sevilla etc. I'm 3 matches away from the end of first season, 7th place in the league and running a 2-loss streak - to FC Groningen and Aston Villa. Games with Zenit, Fiorentina and Villareal left.

During the mid-season transfer window I released a few of the oldest/weakest players from the team, bought like 5 or 6 youngsters (trying out Kim U Don for the first time, he gains 20~ exp points to his skills even at a loss - immense!; also got Wiart, Griffits (this guy has 65 stamina, ouch), Shubin, Sasaki and Lorenz... that makes six.) and loaned Borriello for 2k~, because I felt it's not an abuse. Just playing some reserve striker who accidentally became the strongest point of my team. I still have to get 1000 points to pay for all my players...
