I wanted to have a character completely different from last time, one that could hack into terminals, pick most locks in the wasteland as well as have great repair skills on the go.
S.P.E.C.I.A.L

Looking at the guide, I could see that the primary statistics that govern the attributes I wanted were Perception and Intelligence, so I set these to about 8. This gave me 18 skill pts to distribute each level, and a starting score of 16 for medicine, repair, science, energy weapons, explosives and lockpick.
Then I decided that I wanted her to be able to stealthily hack robots as well as be able to sneak in and out of each area, picking people off from afar with a sniper rifle or hunters rifle. Agility then was the target skill I looked at and I gave that a 7. This gave me 79 action points in VATS, small guns of 14 and sneak 14.
Now, I'd already decided that my character was going to be a mean talking bitch who would shoot first and ask questions later or use force to get what she wanted. Because of this I knew that charisma was not going to be something I needed, so I knocked that down to 2.
Luck would also not be a major factor for her, as anything she see's, be it unclaimed or someone elses property she would take, so I gave her luck of 3. A High small gun skill coupled with Better Criticals at lvl 16 more or less negates the need for luck imo.
Thusly, I gave endurance and strength 6 each as they are key statistics. Strength 6 gave her 210lbs of carry weight, something that needs to be high while exploring. Endurance 6 gave her a starting HP of 220.
Finally with the GOAT exam I Tagged Small Guns, Sneak and Lockpick as my main skills to give them a boost.
Yeah, I am on a 360.
I've only played Operation Anchorage so far, I want to download The Pitt asap, but seeing as I have started a new character I will probably wait around for a bit.
O:A is pretty good; it takes you into a virtual simulation of the american fight back againts China. It is extremely Linear with barely any room for doing things how you want to do them. There are 3 (4 if you count the mini mission to start it all off) missions in the DLC, and they are pretty varied. However, it probably will only last you 2-4 hours at most. Also, if what you like about Fallout is the exploration and discoveries as well as the whole end of the world vibe, then this really is a stark contrast to what you love.
That is not to say thay I did not enjoy playing through this though. I enjoyed the setting and the visuals that come with snow =] plus the rewards that you get after finishing the DLC are pretty damn good. The Gauss Rifle and Chinese Stealth Suit will become part of your *must carry* equipment from the end of the DLC to the end of the game (well it did for me).
All in all, I would recommend buying this on disc with The Pitt as on it's own, O:A may not be worth it for everyone, but £12 for two DLCs, a saving of £2 could make it a bit more worthwhile (especially as The Pitt is supposed to be pretty damn good).
I've just been massacred by the dragoons inside the compound. They're in for it later.
Aye. I've heard about the Raiders who can be found to be beating down one of their own, a fello Raider, with baseball bats and the like. I have yet to come across such an act, though. But I did find a video of the aforementioned act, on YouTube. Here is the LINK for those interested.
I got ambushed by a Yao Guai yesterday. I was just outside Megaton and the beast was flying through the air before I even knew I was in danger. I heard it coming from behind but, by the time I turned around it was already right there. I cripped one of its legs but, it still moved quite swiftly, before a couple of shots to the head snuffed its life out.
I was killed shortly after that, though, by an exploding car. I got surprised by a Raider and took cover behind a car, which the Raider in question decided to riddle with bullets, and before I could take more than two steps it was boom town death. So I started just outside Megaton (auto-save) upon reload. I was going to take out my frustration on that Yao Guai that I knew was out there. But I found it engaged in a scuffle with two Brotherhood Outcasts. I make a bee-line towards the scuffle as quickly as I can, to get into firing range, fearing that those Brotherhood Outcasts were going to steal what should've been my kill, and my experiece. But, no, the Yao Guai took both of them down! Beheading one of them in the process! I finished the Yao Guai (which still had a decent gathering of hit points) off and gathered up the Brotherhood Outcast armor and weapons.
I also came across a friendly Giant Radscorpion, which simply cowered in a corner if I got to close.
