Yeah the DLC is top notch by all accounts. I have only bought the Operation: Anchorage one, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. There are quite a lot of naysayers for this DLC, but I enjoyed the whole alaska during the war setting. The rewards from it are great,; some nice armour, guns and exp. The Pitt and Point Lookout are both DLCs that can be played at anytime and do not really further the main storyline, though there are alot of links to the main story. Broken Steel though is the daddy, and takes place directly after the end of fallout 3, carries on with your character, raises the level cap to lvl 30 and continues the main storyline.
All DLC introduce new enemies, weapons, outfits, quests, achievments......and the fallout DLCs are probably the only ones I will ever download.
Anyway, back to fallout. Just reached Level 20 and unlocked the perk that puts every location on the map, i have discovered 103 before this point, and my god, I have a fuckton still to find and explore. i'm glad I chose this perk because it allowed me to stumble upon a place called "The Dunwich Building". If you haven't been there, go there. It is creepy as fuck, the story played out on holotapesi nide it is great and the last few moments when you're exploring it feel really unique in the whole game.
