Before starting the ML...
I went and changed the names of team-A/B/C,etc to real lower league
teams...but with fake players...i just registered players from nations
like Canada, Australia, Wales, Scotland, N.Ireland..
It was time consuming...but i wanted a little bit of realism with
lower league teams in my English D2.

Received news that VDS is retiring at season end so I got in quickly to sign up Peter Schmeichel on a free. Missed out on Solskjaer and Roy Keane but not to worry can't have them all. I do enjoy playing some of the classic players with the current stars for nostalgic reasons and it's just good fun. Did sign Romario and he's scoring almost as many as Rooney but I may end up selling him so I can concentrate on developing Villalba and Jovetic.

Started the 2nd EPL season with a bang & then received news I had drawn RM, Arsenal & FC Porto in CL group stages! What are the chances of being drawn in the same group as 3 other top teams?
First match v RM at Santiago Bernabéu.. both teams score in the 1st half to make it 1-1 with Casillas stopping several certain goals keeping the home team in it.
After the break it's a cagey affair until Kaka sets up Rooney beautifully in the box and even Casillas can't keep this one out. Brought Nani on with immediate impact - Carrick's corner is headed to the edge of the box by defenders where Nani pounces with a stunning volley that beats absolutely everyone! Also brought on Jovetic who had a slow start giving away possession a couple of times but then in the dying minutes weaved his way through the tired defence to slot home past Casillas. Man U 4-1 RM what a game & Kaka troubled his old team all night. Funny that Berba didn't get a start for them haha. Can't wait for the return match at OT, should be a cracker.

My players didn't have time to celebrate the win in Madrid as they had to take on Chelsea at OT. Chelsea got off to a flyer, some striker I didn't recognise (Pefanovic maybe??) fooled about 4 or 5 of my players with his dribbling and the keeper had no chance against his powerful strike into the top left corner. Forgot to mention Chelsea sold Drogba to CSKA Moscow & now they have Maxi Rodriguez lol. The Blues then frustratingly hogged possession without doing anything meaningful but Man U struck back on the counter attack. Kaka and Rooney both hit the woodwork but Park proved 3rd time lucky with Cech just beaten.
2nd half begins with a lot of passing but not much attacking until Rooney is set free by Kaka but the defence is on hand to concede the corner. Scrappy corner & somehow Park nods the ball past Cech, the South Korean is a hero to the OT faithful! Score remains at 2-1 for awhile before Carrick & Rooney strike late to rub salt into the Blues wounds and cap a remarkable comeback.

It has something to do with winning in Master League.. don't quote me on this but I think to unlock Schmeichel, Solskjaer and Keane you have to win the D1 league. They appear as Shirawtel, Solasal and Law Kit in the game but you can easily change their names in edit mode if you wish. Once unlocked they will go straight into the free agents group in ML.

Not sure about Ronaldo but I know that Zidane can be unlocked by winning the World Cup with France in Cup mode. Think he's known as Zirom in the game.

@dan80: As mentioned above the names are all fake but you can change them in edit mode. I believe Konami could have done a much better job with the faces.. for some reason Solskjaer has black hair.. but some are more accurate than others.

You guys may want to check out http://www.pespatchs.com/2009/10/pes2010-real-player-names-by-wecn.html for a full list of the classic players. As you progress through the game you can have a look in Track Record which will show you the classic players you've unlocked.

Ohhh, thanks. I have unlocked them then. I checked the track record, and seen Solsal, Law kit etc. I checked ingame on my ML those guys on the transfer list, and it was strange. I'm on my 1st year, and I have checked Shiratwel, Law Kit and Solsal, and all three looked wayyy different than they are supposed to be, and they are all quite old. Eh?
