2) My PES 2011 track record. 65 games played 55 won, 5 losses, 5 draws, Nearly 140 goals scored......TOP PLAYER. Ermm guess what, the AI is still shit, its nothing to do with winning or losing, its to do with the AI being poor compared to the PS1/PS2 versions of 10 years ago, but you wouldn't know a fucking thing about that, Cos you were a semen stain on your mums bedsheets when I was playing this game. Last year we know pes10 was shit, I stopped playing it. Reading the word TECHNIQUE is a lot easier than specifying what I mean, is it not?
Usually, when you talk, you try to summarize things, you don't go and say "technique is a lot of things, but I mean to say his dribbling technique, bla, bla, bla" -- I know what you mean, and I agree with that because that's what it is, but I'm simply summarizing what should already be obvious to anyone with a bit of football knowledge.
PES11 is an outdated COM dictated video game with a FAMICOM Foundation underneath all the animations and graphics, that's what PES11 is; you can enjoy the game for what it is, likewise, I cannot enjoy the game for what it is.
It's your opinion, you can feel or think about the game however you want; just don't go around thinking that your opinion is a fact.

Certainly, if PES11 was restricted by the PS3 Console, Konami would not be admitting that PES11 is what PES08 should have been; furthermore, Konami would have never admitted the FACT that all PES games to date are just extensions of the FAMICOM era.
So when you say that PES11 is being restricted by a PS3 Console, not only do you sound like a moron; but you are also actually contradicting what Konami has said in the build up to the PES11 release.

We are talking about basic components of a football game here yea, it kinda helps to have a goalkeeper that actually moves forwards when you press the button command to ask him to do so, a big delay in the command costing you goals is NOT acceptable, especially when there was nothing wrong with this in much older versions of PES.

i don't disagree that it isnt a problem or annoying, but i don't think the randomness of defenders intercepting the ball or not has anything to do with ai. but script acting according to boosted response stats. it's the same with deflections after tackles. i don't mind lesser players tackling being less effective, lacking the technique to make positive tackle, or less likely for clean tackle to be able to regain the ball to oneself or team mate, that would be natural and should be factor for a good football sim, but how it plays out both feels and looks stupid and is unbalanced, deflections ending up with your opponent after your second or third consecutive tackle. it just doesnt feel or looks natural. it looks stupid. response stat has always been the most relevant and important attribute in pes. i remember changing the stats a lot in past version but the only one that in the end made any major difference was the response attribute.
in my opinion the stats and how players acted, the difference of level of different players and how it played out was a lot more balanced and consistent when the stats ranged between 1-20.
i remember when playing iss pro evolution 2, the different attributes made a huge difference in the game. there was a huge advantage having a big guy like koller, not only for crosses and long balls, but also for shielding the ball. a speedy winger made just as big difference. playing with better teams was much more responsive and fluid.
if you played with a shit team against a good one, if both players were roughly the same level, you couldnt play the same football. there was a big difference, but it felt natural and balanced, because if you played to the limitations and possible advantages of a few decent players, you still had a chance.

Hey Tech you feel like giving the old school league mode a try? Maybe it's just me but in every Pes version I find the ML gameplay is easier and more glitchy when comparing to the straightforward league mode. Probably the same this year, haven't touched the ML in the short time I've had the game (and I'll probably never touch it) but I'm enjoying my Serie A and La Liga league seasons. I haven't run into any cheating so far and the few goals I've conceded were completely my fault.

Dude, the game is a joke at times, ive won 11/12 La liga games with Barcelona, drawn 1. Champions league i got beat by inter thanks to a ridiculous goal, but I just lost 4-2 at home to Galatasary in one of THE MOST insane games ever, They scored 2 goals the same way, on throw in's the CPU long balls it into the box, YOU CANT MARK THE GUY IN THE BOX BEFORE THE THROW IN COS AUTO SWITCHING WONT LET YOU. So you have to wait for the long throw, CPU turns you and get a free shot in. It did that TWICE.
And why does the CPU put iniesta in the box for defensive set pieces, the game decided i had to loose........im not even gonna qualify for last 16 of the CL.......................this game is heading for the bin very soon.
The CPU also ramps the speed up like crazy when it decides its gonna try and score, no way is the speed -2 at times and i saw another poster say exactly the same thing weeks ago.

Yeah that me who posted that, it was after I drew 3-3 with Man Utd at Old Trafford as Stoke City. At 1-1 and 2-2 Man Utd started running around like EPO powered freaks. Their 2nd equaliser was from a corner, I cleared it about 4 times but they beat me to EVERY loose ball and eventually the drilled in a ball across the face of goal that all my defenders and keeper effectively decided "well it would be rude not to let them score after all that effort" and that's promptly what happened. Nay fucking way was that normal -2 game speed.
That was the game that Man Utd in 'typical' fashion decided to push Anderson and Carrick up front with Rooney while Berba and Hernandez sat rooted to the bench. Idiotic.

VERY addictive game, but very flawed, the player switching, AI cheating/scripting and defending in general is too poor for a next gen game imo.

Ps. In reference to my above post I beat Galatasary 4-0 away from home in the group stage rematch, learnt my lesson from the first game and had to be conservative and take my chances, they play counter attack football and were breaking with 5 players at a time. I still prolly wont qualify for next round tho, inter away next............sigh.
Messi has suddenly come alive, he's scored about 7/8 goals in 5 games and some of them have been the trademark mazy run goals.

The same can be said about every single Pes game I played. As amazing as the PS2 games were, I remember so much stupid shit that happens in them that seemed like they had a monkey on their programming team. Still, with time you get used to looking past those flaws and the game was always fun and addicting. Same can be said about Pes 2011.
I guess I'm just not as critical of my games as you guys are. When the AI behaves stupidly, I almost expect them to. Afterall they're just AI, I don't expect them to behave anywhere near how a human player would. Can they be improved? Always but I don't expect too much from a game with an annual release schedule. I think Fifa and Pes would always be 9.5/10 games if they released once every 4 years, like most AAA titles. At the end of the day, I spend $70 on something that gives me entertainment for almost 1 whole year. Nothing else comes remotely close for that amount of money. Sometimes I spend as much or more on my fuckin dinner lol.

True, but the AI, particularly goalkeeper and defending AI was never this bad in the PS2 prime versions, no way, I never had a problem which defenders standing still and passes literally going through them. Its annoying, this AI is not acceptable for next gen imo, I cant accept AI like this when I know full well it was better in these aspects many years ago. It needs correcting cos I am not going through this again next year. Not being funny, but the player switching is embarrassing, Ive been in situations where I have a player running towards the box so you have 2 defenders stilling completely still whilst a striker runs through the middle towards goal and the CPU will NOT let me switch to the last defenders to stop this guy until he gets really really close to the box, then the semi auto switching allows me to me to move my final 2 defenders and by then the CPU has had a free run at goal, it was NEVER like this on PS2, its fucked, you just cannot dispute it.
