What the fuck are you on about, the game isnt more challenging at all compared to the PS2 days of old, the computer simply exploits flaws/bugs (whatever) in the game in order to score goals, if you are fucking stupid enough to think that provides a realistic experience in this day and age, then you probably need to take the joystick out your ass for about 3 secs and look around at what other games are doing.

Grand Theft Auto is a whole world of free roaming missions, intricate story lines and even has an advanced physics engine (emotion engine i believe) In that game the possibilities are fucking huge, even when you hit someone with a fucking car, the physics engine means that the way the people fly off the bonnet and roll around on the floor is not only realistic but also very varied.

Now in this fucking day and age, you want me to accept a game where a defender stands still and lets a through ball go through him nearly every time and then begin to start harping on about programming as if doing something which was previously fine on the damn PS1....is now all of a sudden very difficult?????

This is all the CPU AI does against you on top player.......goes out wide, striker makes a run, the cpu will do a perfect through ball every time from a wider area in effect bending a pass around you last defender.

THE SAME THING EVERYTIME. If you can defend against that, your looking at conceding alot less goals.

In the previous PES, if I pressed Triangle to ask the GK to come out, he would come out IMMEDIATELY not 30 mins later, I conceded a goal the other day where the GK moved backwards 1st, to make sure the striker would deffo get to the ball first, THEN.....he rushes out. Play Pes on PS1 and come back and tell me if the AI does this stupid shit.

So what you need to do, is put your butt plug in and shut the fuck up, cos your talking some class A shite, do your paper round and save your pennies then go to a bargain bucket near you and play PES on PS1 and even PS2 and come back and tell all if the AI isn't worse in this respect.

Games are supposed to get BETTER as the console spec improves, I don't expect to see basic AI issues that weren't even present 10 years ago on this version of consoles.

The bottom line is son is the game provides a much better challenge than last years piece of shit.. The last PES the AI didn't even attack. There was no desire to punish you or attack in general. I can safely now say that they will punish your mistakes.

Like I said, the game is not perfect, yet I can still enjoy the game without having too high of expectations. If you want to give up because your defenders leak goals, then do it, no one is holding a gun to head forcing you to play a game you don't like. You still live in the pS2 utopia days thinking the game was perfect back then when truth be told there was numerous flaws in the last two versions pes5 and 6 but still playable and enjoyable.

My only gripe is the Improvements are going through a slow rate because of the lack of competition and the only reason they worked hard on this years version was because of decline of sales. What also annoys me is every year konami keep taking away useful features and then a few years down the line bring it back and say its new.

That's stupid. The AI could be smarter, the reasons are plain obvious, and no, dumb AI is not a PS3 restriction. Ignoring the AI, it is even more important to look at the foundation of the game.

Restriciton # 1

You can cover spaces of over 50 feet by simply directing the left analogue stick WITHOUT the assistance of a sprint button. In other words, you can run without the assistance of a running button.

Restriciton # 2

The R1 button is the only sprint button that we have, a button with barely any depth, and that is the only sprint button available. Yet in PS1 games, we had Football Sims with three different sprint buttons.

Bottom Line

Do I really need to go and ask Konami, about something that I can test for myself?

Go ahead, direct the left analogue stick WITHOUT the assistance of the R1 sprint butto: tell me what happens.

Producing dumb and superficial video games for 10 year olds and 15 year olds is cheaper and easier, than producing substantial and intricate games for 30 year olds: more profit, this is why Football Sims are dumber and dumber with each passing year.

I'm done with this shit game, honestly man, the CPU AI is a JOKE. I'm conceding the most REDICULOUS GOALS ive seen in any game of football EVER. Including.

- The keeper rushing out to a ball rolling along the floor and going about a good 5 yards AWAY from goal, he then saves the fucking ball right into the path of messi who crosses for villa to score.

-Marchionni surrounded by about 5 players.... none of them tackling him, he curls a shot onto the post, the ball comes off the post hits the keeper in the back...goal.

- Get a PK in a key game, GK will conveniently guess right

- My defenders stop still or move away from the ball to allow CPU a one on one.

- Keeper makes a save, 5 defender around the keeper LITERALLY stand still whilst striker goes in a take a point blank shot.

-Free kick bug is STILL there.

- Winning against Barca , barca hit ball toward my keeper, i press shoot to blast the ball with my keeper back up field, keeper tries to take ball and dribble it into Barca attacker to give a goal away.

- Striker on the goal line, shoots from close range at keeper, ball miraculously deflects of keeper whist staying perfectly straight so it can go towards goals, keeper spends half an hour on the floor, gets up, but the ball has gone about 0.00000000000000000000001 mm over the line, another cheap CPU goal.

-Beating Barca AGAIN......this time at home, 88th min after flawless defending, Raul Abiol decides to stand still and lets bojan go through him, barca shoot, keeper saves, Perfectly saves it into path of Bojan.............1-1.

-CB decides to go wondering halfway up the field and Xabi Alonso decides to play CB, then watches as players go past him.

FUCKING DISGRACE, I never lost a single league game, but the AI cheating in this game is very close to PES2008 levels, its unreal. Fuck this fucking game and fuck Konami, you know they wont patch this shit, 2010 and they cant make a fucking decent A fucking I.

I have to be honest, I'm starting to lose my patience with this game, too. After playing the demo, I saw a an improvement, so I was hopeful the final build would be even better. The AI is poor. Everything is good, but the gameplay. I was playing Master League last night and ended up turning it off...to play FIFA.

It's such a shame. I've been playing this game every year since the very first ISS on the SNES. Since then, for fifteen years, I've bought the game on release day. But now, I'm not even sure I can place the disc in the console anymore. Impotent. I so want this to be great again.

Seriously, if codemasters can replicate in a football game what they can do with their racing games they'd be about 7-8 years ahead of pes and fifa.

I ended up with GP4 (again), rFactor (fun, but not especially great) and Grand Prix Legends (a game from 1998, patched up to 2010 standards by community patches it's definetly playable and very active online community with single races and championships)

He did score a few very nice goals, but he never performed good for England, not that he was given many chances, but in addition to being a player that could score from every part of the pitch, he was also able to miss point blank shots.

Matt Le Tissier was a fun player when on form, but he can't be compared to Veron in terms of quality and european success.

And regarding "big players" that has struggled in United, the list is long. Forlan, Berbatov, Veron and Tevez. Berbatov seem to have loosened up now though, but the others had to leave that pile of shit of a manager to continue their careers. Seems Rooney is on his way out now too.

As for pes 211 I already refuted your boyfriend techskills argument about the game which he had no answer to. I've given up worrying about certain pedantic intricacies of pes11 this year and expecting it to be a masterpiece., im just enjoy the game for what it is

in an ideal world there would be no flaws to the game which would then translate into one massively immersive playable game that replicated every facet of the beautiful, where you could see the sweat dripping off the players head and the grass rising off the ground aftera tackle, along with licensed kits and stadiums and in depth manager mode etc, but this is not an ideal world by far. Maybe if the console was 3 gigs bigger you might have seen chance of things like that happening.

The fact is the ps3 is a very difficult code to work with to get the most out of the hardware capabilities. You expect the football to mimic real life in all its glory, but your not realistic and don’t live in the real world. Having a named stronger " hardware doesn't mean you are getting anywhere near the quality. The games itself are not taking fully function of the hardware capabilities to appeal to the majority of players mainly due to the code the companies have to work with in regards to it’s compatibility . . The available hardware isn't powerful enough to realistically depict the nuances of player and ball's physics as much as you seem to think son.
