techboy, you are legend. i actually don't mind the keepers eventhough they are bad but atleast thy don't make too mych mistakes. i deleted he patch to 1.00 and it flows again and to test it out i did free training with man u and rooney always finished it into the bottom corner. Other people say to fix the shooting you don't use any assistances but that was rubbish. i wonder why konami did that.

You guys are all having problems shootings straight at the keeper??
My only shooting problem im having is that its not as fun as old pes's, the ball used to fly off your foot and you held the button down longer, it felt like you were actually kicking the ball.
But as for shooting at the keeper, it only does that if I don't press R2, if I'm 1on1 I hold R2 and slide it in the corner every time nearly.

This is not a shooting exclusive discussion. Some like the shooting, some don't etc. But the main issue is that players move around the pitch in a way that does not resemble real football in patch 1.01. They are too eager to gangbang in the middle of the box, defenders seem to actually prefer backing off until they are almost on line with the keeper, and the midfield is too offensive and defensive at the same time, leaving the midfield completely open for counters.
Yair and Jenkey has addressed the shooting and passing already, so whatever konami does in that department does not really concern me. Their tools let you tweak it into your liking anyway. But the above mentioned AI positioning is a big concern for everyone. Unless you like womens football...

so how do you downgrade on PC? do you have to reinstall the whole game? I hope not.... :-|

Hmm, I might as well answer my own question:
On the DVD, under "\program files\konami\pro evolution soccer 2012\", you will find the original 1.0-exe files. copy them to your folder where you have installed the game and it should work.
Now - I too noticed a positive difference. Just played one game so far, but it's much more fun, in 1.01 the midfield is abandoned, but not with 1.0
i knew konami was poor at reviewing fans feedback but this...
cheating and fooling us to make us think the keepers were better like an illusion when all they did was meddle with the shooting. you've let me down konami. i thought you wouldn't cheat us for our money and guess i thought wrong.

I must say im gonna try this. it would certainly go some way to explaining the loss of my sanity over the past few days.
I dont mind no online. i never play online, just against my pals at home.
The first couple of games i played it felt fresh and new and i was able to do the things i wanted. although my passing (0 assistance) needed some work it felt do-able with practice.
now after 20 or so more games, i feel like im definately getting worse at this. Ive played pro evo for years and am pretty good and know the game well and know that every new issue of the game takes a bit of relearning and retraining your instincts but with past games its always remained fun whilst you learnt. but this time out its seems like more frustration every time. I love pro evo and refuse to even consider fifa and still keep telling myself that things will click soon and it will be the game i want it to be that even the critics are saying it is but it doesnt seem to be happening!! this whole patch thing makes a lot of sense to me...Ive been proclaiming all day that the ai dont seem to be doing any extra runs as we were told...every game just seems to turn into a weird scrum in the middle... i thought it was a mess i was creating with my dreadful passing but if this patch issue is true then i will be happy as i really starting to go a bit mad!!

I was following this thread and decided to try to go back to 1.0.0 version. I think there is no change in shooting overall. Shooting is pretty much the same under the same conditions. I think you guys have placebo effect or it just randomly was better when you switched version as shooting is also fine at times with 1.0.1 version too. I noticed shooting is significantly better with better players so if you are in ML with default players then it might be the problem. Although I admit shooting sometimes is a bit too inaccurate or even wrong, but there are times when it is perfect.
Have to disagree Stingo. Post match one on ones for me were a personal nightmare. A write off. Andy Carroll and Luis Suarez between them used to miss them for a pastime, 100% of the time hitting them straight at the keeper, regardless of up, down, left, right finesse or speed. My FIRST one on one with Suarez pre-patch and I aimed bottom right, and that;s where the shot went. I also scored a lovely finesse shot exactly as I wanted yesterday, a lovely curling shot into the top corner. My attackers now actually look to break the defensive line instead of just standing there regardless of player cards or stats.
I'm glad you've tried it and I'm glad that you think it's placebo - that's all we can ask....for me pre-patch is just much better, but each to their own.
go on to free training and try this and you can tell the difference after your first shots. oh yeah, on patch 1.1 pressing r2 before you take a shot was utter bullcrap. now try it - not r2 when you see the power bar, r2 then you shoot. it's a great feeling and it's great when you place it onto the top corner. also patch 1.00 players don't pressure you like crazy so you do less mistakes and the graphics look fresh. try free training
i dnt have a problem with aiming my shots but i do have a major problem with the lack of power in them its painfully sore to watch and goalies are dreadfull i really thought they got back on track this year and it seems am wrong i can barely play 2 games in a row without cracking up
