What a load of crap... I can shoot where I want with 1.01... Quit complaining and learn how to play PES instead maybe? Go on training and you will see how easy it is to aim your shots!

Threads like this are useless! Won my last 18 games online scoring over 2 or 3 goals each time! The shooting is fine ha!

I agree....

**The game pre patch was far more enjoyable because of the active AI and the way the game ebbed and flowed back and forth. The keepers were just adequate to okay pre patch, but instead of KONAMI fixing the keepers they have simply introduced a patch to shield the keepers problems by having most shots go centrally and tone down the active AI so that they are further protected**

I think this is spot on, because when I think about it, it wasn't until I installed the patch that I started noticing that the game wasn't as good as I originally thought.

I will try this at once, and hopefully get back to where I was a week or so ago.

Thanks.

That's all I can suggest mate, there's nothing to lose and everything to gain. If you feel we're talking shit then at least you've given it a bash and you can get on playing it as it was. But report back either way, feedback on this is vital I believe just to prove that everyone isn't going crazy.

Ive read about it to.
seems like the 1.00 is more the better of demo1 and 2. and the 1.01 takes some fun away. or does it make it more realistic. in demo 2 the goalies were horrible
If there didnt change them in the 1.00 then were is the fun in that. every shot will be a goal then so there goes realism. ill try it when my game finaly gets here. just play it without for a while and then install it and see the difference. but for me the main issue and thing that was pissing me of were the goalies!!

And i dont think deleting the patch will do something to your OF file. Cause the patch didnt do anything to players or teams the DLC did that and the 1.01 and DLC are not the same.

Put all assistances on manual.

i use 0 on pass, every assistance off, but the problem is still there..

there is a timing imput bug, you can chose the aim of the shot only before you press the square button, but with the pace of the game is impossible to be so fast...

the only solution i found is to press square 2 times when shoting, and aim between the first press and the second, but it's very difficult..

sorry for my english..:innocent:

If you hate the game then this probably isn't for you as you'd hate it anyway, but there's a huge debate going on over on the other forums at the moment, Evo-Web and Wenb. I like to get a cross section of opinion on anything PES.

The crux of the argument is this -

1) Many complained that the game is now more static, that AI seems to have been dumbed down, the CPU generally looks to park the bus and games are a little bland
2) Shooting, everything now seems to go down the middle and shot control is almost impossible.

Many people have said that the game now resembles nothing like the demos, which many people enjoyed.....well here is the interesting bit, you may already know it but if you don't bear with me.

People said that when the game first came out they enjoyed it a lot more had more control etc etc, well it seems like that the latest KONAMi game patch (15mb) to bulk up the goalies and make them better has had a number of effects.

1) That the 'Active AI' has been toned right down in the latest patch, players do not move about like the demos and the game is mor static and less exciting. Almost every team parks the bus and relies on counters
2) Keepers are better?!?! Well are they? Many believe that the new patch has simply changed the games AI so that the keeper is protected more, also the shooting system in the new patch has been designed so that again the rubbish keepers are protected by having almost every shot go centrally.

So just to be clear, this is what people are saying -

**The game pre patch was far more enjoyable because of the active AI and the way the game ebbed and flowed back and forth. The keepers were just adequate to okay pre patch, but instead of KONAMI fixing the keepers they have simply introduced a patch to shield the keepers problems by having most shots go centrally and tone down the active AI so that they are further protected**

Many people have experimented with this, including me, and I don't think it is placebo!

**A few people immediately deleted the KONAMI patch and bang, immediately saw a difference. Players running here and there and generally being more active, more exciting games, ironically better and more realistic defending from the player but better build up and creativity from the CPU. Shots more responsive and harder, people being able to dribble again and take people on etc etc. AND MOST IMPORTANTLY SHOTS GOING WHERE YOU WANT THEM!!**

It seems that the out of the box game is full of the active ai and is more or less the same as demo 2 (if people liked that). The new patch kind of tightens everything up and therefore the games become more stagnant. It may only be the illusion that keepers are better because they have made defences deep and fked around with the shooting mechanics.

If this is the case, then it's SHAME ON KONAMI, if they did actually mean to do it!

For the PS3 I think it's just a case of deleting the 15mb game patch, for the Xbox I think it's deleting the cache or something, check it out on evo-web or wenb, and for PC I think it's a case of using the original pes2012.exe file, but again I may be mistaken, check it out.

I URGE ALL OF YOU DISILLUSIONED WITH THE GAME to at least try it. See for yourself and report your findings.

It seems this is the quandry right now -

1) Pre patch - the game is fluid and active AI is prevalent everywhere. The CPU builds it's attacks with cleverer play. Shooting goes where you want it, and your build up play feels freer and more open. Goalies are poor to adequate.

2) Post patch - the game is more rigid and more contained, not so much active AI. CPU defences generally sit deeper, most shots go centrally to the keeper (thus the illusion that keepers are BETTER). CPU looks to charge through the middle more and relies less on moves to get round the defence.

Note that because you have reverted to game 1.00, then playing online is not a possibility, everybody is looking into this because this may be something big that KONAMI needs to look into ASAP.

Try it out guys and report!

good post m8, however for me online is the main reason i play so.... do u find the dribbleing has been over improved? i think it needed to b maybe a little easier than 2011 but it seems way too easy now, also in 2011 u wer rewarded for playing 1 twos and crisp passing but in 2012 it seems that the game runs so fast its more luck if u string a few passes together, also as the shooting goes straight down the middle to counter this they have made it too easy to dribble round the keeper for a certain goal!!!

I don't think this is placebo at all. Even the defense lines aren't as bad as in the patched version. It's still a little bit too focused on defending inside own box, but far better than the patched version where the defense line is at the penalty box or close as soon as opposition cross the midfield line.

I do miss the option to use jenkey's patch, because it don't work on 1.0. And 1.0 is still somewhat lacking in many ways, and jenkey adress many of those things in his patch for 1.01. But if I have to choose, and it seems I have to for the moment, I'll go with the 1.0 exe file and without Jenkey tweaks. It's actually that much better.

Thanks techboy, great find! Let's just hope Konami address their sloppy patchwork and make a proper fix for 1.02 :)

it is a shame on konami to release such a crap after 10 years of waiting for a football game. When are we going to get a football game? AT THIS RATE NOT EVEN AT 2050

i recommend pes should make games in 1.5 or 2 year intervals but that would mean CHANGING PES 2011 to pes 11 as if it was pes 2012, pes 2013 it'd be confusing and it should be pes 11, pes 12

evo-web thread: http://www.evo-web.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?p=2363596#post2363596

Notice the later pages techboy11, some guys are catching on to your find.

I can't take the credit Sabatosso I just made people aware on this forum that there was ANOTHER way to play the game. A few people on Evo Web, and then myself tried it and the results speak for themselves. Anybody who is is denial about this or sticking to their guns about the post patch being better needs their head checked lol.

I wrote an extensive piece giving the PS3 version (I had US so had longer than most) a nine out of ten. I played it to death. Then for some reason I started almost hating it, so much so that I questioned or not whether it was broke and games become sterile. It was at this point that I re-evaluated my score and gave it a 7 maybe even a 6.5.

I then purchased the PC version and again boof, I said that this was the best version, but alas again, the PC version became a chore and not enjoyable.

NOW I KNOW WHY!

I can fully say, that I now re-instate my view that both the PS3 versions and PC versions are fully worthy of a 8.5/9 out of 10, I'm personally now playing the PS3 version again exclusively. My beef before was that the game was broken and it was a shame that my big tele was going to waste and I had to play it on the PC. Not anymore. Had a tremendous 1-0 away from to Wigan on Top Player (15 minutes to all those that say this pre patch is arcade!!). I then had two more games. In those games I was once again able to reconstruct the football that I want to play including scoring a one on one with Suarez (I know blow me down, my one on one success rate post patch was around 1% lol) and the ball actually went in the corner I specified.

People may be having a go at pre-patch because they are mislead about Active AI. Active AI doesn't mean that your players run around like headless chickens and lose all shape; quite the contrary, I'm finding defending once again more fun because

a) I can defend the way I want to, drop deep one match press high the next
b) can actually tackle the CPU, can pressurise into them losing the ball high up the pitch with good positioning

Quite simply the Active AI makes defences more alert and I'm finding that my players don't just stand there like mongs. My forwards - how about this - are actually making runs! WOW

So we have

1) Better AI in both attack and defence
2) Two ways in which to defend, contain or press
3) The sliders actually work
4) Shots going where you want them
5) More freedom to create
6) More midfield possession to and fro
7) More response
8) CPU giving the ball away when pressured, but the CPU pressure more intensely in certain areas to

The only downsides

1) Can't play online
2) Keepers are weaker (but as of yet I'm yet to see a real blooper)

If peeps want to stick to post patch that's great, but for me, the pros far, far outweigh the cons. In fact tonight I'm going to do a universal GK edit to improve the goalies, I think then I may have near enough the perfect game.
