FIFA 12 Discussion

Been having a problem with online squads at the moment, I keep getting a message pop up saying that they're corrupt and that the games been abandoned for fair play.

Have you tried manually deleting them and re-downloading them?

Done that twice and have just done it again, should work now. But for how long I don't know.

Anyone know the cheapest place I can get Fifa 12 (PS3) brand new? Only went & snapped mine, didn't I..

The CPU really is a cheating bastard. Check out this penalty I gave away after the ball played through was offside:

Also, they should provide you with an orange ball without you having to pay for one using your coins - talking about Ultimate Team here. This is what I was talking about, when I complained about tackling, in the ChatBox. That's exactly why I'm hesitant to tackle, especially in or around the box. You know you're going to cleanly win the ball, but you also know the CPU will win a PK. So annoying.

I've come to a conclusion that Manager Mode is regulated (or scripted, some would call it). If your team is of a certain level and you're exceeding expectations, the CPU will decide every team you face is Barcelona and your players have suddenly lost all football abilities. On top of that, the goals the CPU will score are disgusting. The number of times the ball has hit the post, tackled or blocked, only for it to end up at the CPU's feet, is sickening.

Having said that, I love the game and I can't get enough of it. The more infuriating a football game is, the better it is. It reminds me of the way I felt in the good old days of PS2 PES.

^ I think I am giving a penalty at almost 1 per game in manager mode. can't believe the calls when I get it - I might as well just slide an take someone's legs out to gain personal satisfaction because I get the call no matter what.

CPU sold Kompany, Lescott, and Kolarov off of Man City. I didn't even recognize the back 4 when I played them. I still want full league & cups without a transfer market.

Tackling is by far the worst part of the AI this year, more so than players running into each other or falling over each other.


They need to refine the impact engine majorly for Fifa 13 as well as many other things.

I hope they sort out the Manager mode in Fifa 13. The scripted gameplay is annoying and so are the scripted transfers. I've started 8 new manager modes and in every single one Sneijder goes to city for £35mill and Lescott to Arsenal for £11m. Annoying as fook.

I wish they would offer a full season with all cups without all the transfers. Sneijder always get sold as you mentioned, Man City drops their entire backfield each time, and Manchester United reduces themselves to having to start Michael Owen. Aaron Lennon always seems to get sold to Liverpool.

I might play this again. I don't think I've played it since about a fortnight after I bought it.

My Fifa 12 experience so far includes about an hour in the arena and two Online Clubs matches.

Smashed a great strike off the cross bar from the wing and it deflected perfectly to my striker, who daftly twisted his hips to get out of the ball's path instead of popping it in. No worry, the CAM was standing a few yards behind him so surely he would gather it up. Nope. He carried out the same animation to twist his hips away from the ball and let it sail right by. I was mashing the shoot button the entire time.

I saw this event for one player on youtube and thought it was a fluke. but now see it clear as day with two players. poor AI process on deflected balls.

What makes this worse is that if the ball fell to the CPU's striker, he would have tapped it in first time. I used to think this was an issue with cursor settings, so I changed it to Auto (from Air Balls), but it made no difference. I tried Manual; a disaster. I've put it back to Air Balls and I'm just resigned to the fact the CPU will screw you over at will.

I was playing career mode last night and I was all over the CPU, but my players were inexplicably missing everything, or their shit keeper was making ridiculous saves. They then score a winner at the end - your typical ball hits woodwork and their striker is perfectly placed for a tap in. I wasn't having it, so I restarted the game. In the rematch, I went one up, but then my two best players got injured, in the lightest of challanges. It was as if the CPU was offering a compromise: either lose, or get a point and have players get injured. Mental!

I'd like to think it's all coincidental, but it happens too often.

is there no one that can code a football game the correct way? It is basic coding errors I see whether Konami or EA.

Perhaps, they don't understand the phases aspect of the offside rule. Where are the salt and pepper shakers when you need them?

Is there a way to put Asamoah Gyan into Sunderland's squad? I can see he's in the game, but there's a white box where there would usually be a team's badge. He's not in the free agents bit, he just seems to be resting in nowhere.

I am starting to think the Euro2012 expansion pack is worth the time savings of picking the teams and creating the tournament groups. With a single game group phase, and flying through iterations of the tournament using different teams, I feel like I am constantly re-creating the pots. Probably spend more minutes than I would like doing that.
